Hi Sue. The 4 pin plug is where you would plug in a spool gun.
Note. After you use 50% of the wire the wire feed motor will fail.I have had 3 replaced in this chinese junk good luck
Yes it is for a spool gun . I have never had a problem with my welder but I havent use the spool gun on it

Dear BossWeld, I did some modofications on the holder for the wire spool and changed the handgun nipple so I think I may have solved the problems. Thank you for your offer of assistance but it seems I worked the problem out myself.
Regards Michael

I bought my MST185 in 2022 from Bunnings. It was faulty and after much arguing Bunnings replaced it. Since then I’ve not looked back. It’s a great machine for the diy welder.
What concerns me is the number of faulty machines Bunnings and others seem comfortable to sell. What is going on?
I’m about to buy the P40 plasma cutter but hesitant for the obvious reason. I’m afraid saying “we will replace it if it’s DOA or faulty “ is just not good enough.
Dynaweld should ensure better quality control so the faulty machines do not enter the market. Or Bunnings may be handling them roughly. That way we can buy with confidence.
Hi mate, I am thinking of getting the same machine for myself but I only have 10 amp and I am wondering if this machine trips out circuit breakers in long period of use? Have you tried using all diffe...
Read morerent types of welding with this machine and is it really value for money?I run mine from a generator equipped with 15a outlets. It’s an 8kva generator and it works hard when welding. Never tripped it though.
Tried mig and stick only and works fine in each. I believe it’s definitely value for money.
what size plug on the 185 mig 10 amp or 15 amp
I have been looking everywhere for a mid-range mig 150amp ebay has lots of bad quality grap and the bossweld 150 seems good value for money?
That is a statement not a question. I know nothing about the Bossweld 150 but it should be fine as the Bossweld range is good quality.
Hi Jeff. Mine has been going strong since new. Like anything I guess, there can be issues but that's technology for you. I've heard just as many horror stories of cigweld, austarc etc. I has warranty,...
Read more it's legally enforceable so if it's within your budget and your intended workload for it then I'd wholeheartedly recommend the Bossweld 186 which I own. Remember to swap the orientation of the feed spool thingo as it's set for gas-wire (well mine was) and was chewing up my gaslesswire because it is softer and the feed would block. As soon as I sorted that (2 minutes) it was awesome. I've welded up gates, a chicken pen, a set of extractors and replaced the cat convertor on my car with it. So yeah, impressed with my unit. The 150 should be of similar capability.Thank you for your reply....Jeffrey
I have a Bossweld 186 and it was working fine but got hot so turned of till cooled. This did it 3 times but on the last time I switch it back on and the wire feed won't feed. Is there something as a easy fix or could is it MAJOR?
I just wondering if thats works perfectly overseas specially to countries producing 60hz
Sorry you are asking the wrong person, I use this machine daily in my workshop. I am not a sales Rep. for this product
my bossweld has just started arcing all the time before I pull the trigger, can anyone help
I have never been able to run a weld without the wire birdsneating at the roller, too the point am about to throw the unit into the bin. This has been from new ? It was purchased 3 years ago and after numerous attempts just put on the shelf, any ideas ?
Possible causes are wrong tip size, ( to small) tension on roller to tight, Incorrect roller alignment or wrong grove on the roller to suit wire.
The hand piece lead needs to be straight as possibl...
Turn the roller feed 'washers' around the other way. It's set for gas wire (which is harder), and it will chew up the flux in the gas-less wire causing it to ball up. I discovered this myself and was ...

Contact Bossweld Sam, I am a user of the machine not a technician. They are pretty good with their customer support i have found. Cheers Lloyd
Hey guys. Can I run my bossweld Mig 186 inverter with a 15amp male plug . Can I run a 15 amp lead with a 10amp male plug in a normal home socket. I'm just a DYI guy learning how to weld.
You can with a Powertech 15A to 10A Converter / Adapter & RCD suits Caravan 15 Amp to 10 Amp, they are selling on Ebay link:http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Powertech-15A-to-10A-Converter-Adapter-RCD-suits-...

Read more. If you are as you say an amateur DIYer then you should be aware that bypassing Aus Standards is reason to void your insurance. You will likely have a fire when the circuit overheats due to insufficient cable cross section. 2.5mm2 is the cross section of your power cables for normal GPO use. 4mm2 is the cable rating for a 15amp PO. It also depends upon your supply capacity and other componentry along with what else is shared on the circuits. You can run a 15 amp on a extension cable as long as the extension cable plug and socket are rated at 15 amp.
