Disappointing
Purchased a TexStyle 7 TS765ATP to replace my Braun Freestyle iron that has provided many years of faithful service and has only had to be replaced through being knocked off the ironing board 1 time too many...
Disappointed in the replacement. The new Saphir sole plate is nowhere as “slippery” as the Eloxal one on my old iron. This creates more drag when ironing and generally spoils the ironing experience. Serves me right for thinking the top model would be the best.
Give this model a miss and stick with one of the lesser models with the Eloxal sole plate and I'm sure you will not be disappointed.

Painfully frustrating!
We purchased this iron due to reviews and after researching Braun's website. We've tried every level of the steam function and the only time water doesn't drip out of the plate is on the lowest level (1). Anything higher and it watermarks our clothing, without the steam function, it lacks performance. The hotplate requires a cleaner, which we've never had to use before. We found this out when I ironed a t-shirt with a course fabric and it marked the plate. Obviously it didn't like the temperature, yet another t-shirt was no problem. It seems yo...Read more
u need to memorise what heat level certain clothing pieces require or you will mark the plate, which then requires a clean with the iron cleaner. All in all a painful experience with this iron. We will be returning it for another iron - cross fingers.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Brilliant no fuss iron
I purchased the Braun TS765 after a fair bit of research. My last iron was a Braun purchased 20 years ago, and apart from a frayed cord, was still going. I was looking for something with a bit more power and steam, but not too heavy, as I have had some RSI in my right arm. I do sewing from time to time and wanted one that could handle all fabrics. This iron comes with a textile protector plate, so that you don't need a damp cloth for wool, silk etc. In the end it came down to the Russell Hobbs Turbo Steam which Choice had recommended, and this ...Read more
Braun. The Russell Hobbs was lighter, but everything electronic, which I felt might be more likely to fail. I tried out the textile protector plate on my husband's good woollen mix dressing gown, and it worked brilliantly, as with delicate silk scarves. The standard stainless steel plate glides very well over all fabric. I like that there is a steam zone right at the tip of the iron to get into collar corners. While it is one of the heavier irons available, it is ergonomically well designed, and I have no problems using it. I am extremely happy with my purchase., which I got at Harvey Norman Lismore for $125, and will get $30 cashback for Mother's Day promotion so I feel happy with the overall price of $95. Great steam, works well with cottons, linens and delicates. Has a very solid well made feel to it, unlike some other very plasticy ones I looked at. Nothing, but may be on the heavy side for some at 1.4 kg. However it works so well you spend about half the time ironing.

I would be more worried about your dwellings safety switch not killing the power when your iron/s supposably caught on fire.

Thanks for your "concern" about my safety switch, it works just fine thanks, unlike the iron. I would gladly pay overs for an iron that works more than 8 weeks.

I don't have this particular model, however the manual for this iron is available as a free download from the Braun website. Hopefully this will answer your question.
