Got a gut feeling this has ruined my dogs health.
First used a year ago, my dog a border collie, did not want to eat it at all, I ended up pushing it down his throat in bits. A few days later he had fits and lost all sense of balance. Vet said it was vestibular disease. Though he is now blind in one eye and after having another bravecto in July last year he had another episode of so called vestibular disease. I have given him another tablet today, before I had read about adverse effects of the bravecto tablets. As he didn't like it I mushed it up with dog food and bacon, which he eventually at...Read more

I hate myself for giving this to my 2.5 year old Rough Collie. ONE day after giving him the medicine, he started having localized seizures. He would twitch, pant, and lick like crazy. He was scared and there was nothing I could do except wait for his episode to pass. One week later, same situation. Localized seizure with muscle spasms in the front and hind legs, panting heavily, licking me frantically. The vet put him on Methocarbamol which is a muscle relaxer. He has not had an episode since then, but it’s only been two weeks since he went on ...Read more
the medicine so every night I pray to god he won’t have another episode. He also has had diarrhea every day non stop. Horrible liquid, projectile filled with mucus. His blood panel showed his liver was elevated due to toxicity. Please if you love your dog, Dont give them this pesticide!!!!! I can only wait and pray for my dog to get better over the next few months.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Read all the reviews on here and take warning!
Please take warning of all the reviews on here. I wish we would have seen this before. I trusted the vet who prescribed this to us (as most of us do) and thought this medication was safe for dogs. This medication (insecticide) is clearly going unreported. It only came out in 2014 and because there have not been undeniable links proving this to be the direct cause of death in dogs, nothing is being done about it. The company can easily state that perhaps it was something else that caused the symptoms. Large companies can get away with a lot by ...Read more
finding loop holes and having lawyers to protect them. Pets are treated with less regard than humans. I guarantee you if this was a medication being prescribed to people it would have been off the market by now. Heres the facts on what we have experienced: - we have given Bravecto to our 13 yr old dog 3 times within the past year - each time he experiences lethargy, heavy breathing, unable to eat for days, uncontrollable diarrhea, vomiting all over the house and is literally unable to walk. We have to pick him up (80 lbs) and carry him as he cannot stand. - unfortunately we have never connected the dots until now. This time, he is unable to lift his head and we think he is dying.Purchased in January 2021 for A$80.00.

Bravecto causes skin complaints
I have been treating my dog with Bravecto chews for a while and I have only just realised the intermittent skin problems are due to this product. A week after ingestion she has hot spots and her skin itches all over. I feel so miserable that it is me who administered this despite best intentions. On the plus side there are no ticks but I’d rather just pavement walk her in future than have such distress.

Please don't ever use this product
We are trying to let as many people know about dangerous medications so as to save dog's lives. Our 7-year-old Lab/Staffy was given a topical 6-month treatment of Bravecto 6 months ago, and then proceeded to have seizures. After identifying the cause of the seizures being the Bravecto, the Vet disappointingly tried to justify the product saying that more dogs were saved from ticks than were killed. I understand that thousands of dogs have been affected by seizures or worse, have died. Our dog has been on anti-seizure medication since (Phenomav)...Read more
, which significantly affects his balance and appetite along with his general demeanour. He presents as a dog significantly older than his 7 years. The American Veterinary Medical Association made the following statement: Food and Drug Administration officials have received thousands of reports of adverse events connected with three productsBravecto, Nexgard, and Simparicacontaining drugs in the isoxazoline class. https://www.avma.org/javma-news/2018-11-15/four-flea-tick-products-linked-seizures-ataxia When the six months of Bravecto treatment concluded, we unwittingly put him on a one-month Nexgard treatment. The seizures started again and were significantly worse this time. It appears that anything containing drugs in the isoxazoline class should be avoided. I am led to believe that the chemical is a toxic nerve agent so not suitable for use on a valued member of the family.Purchased in May 2021 at PetStock.

Both of my dogs ill with yellow vomiting
I gave Bravecto to my dogs and they are ill with yellow vomiting. This has happened in the past and I took them to the vet, who did not see the connection (they sell Bravecto). It is now that I read other reviews that I realized the cause of the issue. I regret giving Bravecto to my beloved family members.

Put my Lab in Hospital
A day after giving my 6 year old Labrador the tablet she got very bad diarrhea and went off her food - very strange for a lab. This lasted for days to the point where she was so dehydrated she couldn't lift her head off the ground, even when I put a piece of her favorite food, chicken breast right under her nose. Rushed her to the vet and she went onto a drip and had injections to stop internal bleeding. Thankfully she survived. This was 12 months ago. Reason I am writing this now is that I have just taken her for her annual vaccs and vet ...Read more

Do not use this dangerous product if you care about your dog!
My dog was seriously ill after I gave her Bravecto pill! Tremors and shaking and lethargy and could barely stand! I would recommend against its use as I feel it poisoned my dog. When I rang the company they dismissed my claims and absolutely no apology from their vet. I urge pet owners to read all reviews and do product research. I feel like I risked my pet’s life. Regret using Bravecto and can’t believe that it is still on the market. Do NOT use this product!

6 month spot-on great but tablet horrid!
Used spot on Bravecto on our two dogs for a few years now and are very happy. No reactions or adverse effects except for when we tried the tablet dose with our Cardigan Corgi who reacted with vomiting and lethargy. We switched to the 6 monthly spot on treatment and have never looked back. Flea and tick control is easy...wouldn’t consider anything else for our two dogs and we also use Bravecto Plus on our two cats. Some people will argue treatments are toxic but for us the spot on is easy and effective - both cats and dogs are healthy and happy which means happy household for us.

Hate it killed our dog
We bought Bravecto for our 11 and a half year old Staffy she was fine until having it. 2 days after having the chewable tablet she started having trouble walking became lethargic stopped eating and drinking her stomach swelled up and looked badly bloated. We then looked up side effects and found a lot of dogs were having problems and some dying. We started trying to get her drinking and eating and after 2 days she started showing signs she was recovering and started being her normal self. Then on Monday night out of nowhere she started vomiting...Read more
she stopped eating was having trouble walking again no matter what we did this time she refused food she would drink water and this time the bloating was worse we took her to the vet yesterday and decided to try an anti nausea shot that lasts 24 hours. In the hope it would get her eating all it did was seem to make her feel worse. This morning we made the heart breaking decision to put her to sleep she was barely able to walk and was just so sad and looked like she was in pain you could see she had had enough. She was fine until having Bravecto in my opinion it kills dogs.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Terrible product
Gave on vets advice, 4 weeks later, dog vomiting, passing black tarry stools, refused to eat or drink, swollen stomach filled with fluid, anorexic, 2 weeks later my pet died, will never recommended this product, pet owners do your own research on the products your vets are recommending. Do not be put off as vets are blaming scaremongering, well it isn’t, it’s a horrendous product, Poison

Do NOt give your dog Bravecto
Our dog is a service dog and we were sent Bravecto to trial. It is only this week I have put all the symptoms together. Our beautiful dog started throwing up randomly but it was a strange vomit. It looked like sludge, like dark green almost black sludge that I thought was chicken poo, that maybe he had eaten some. I brushed it off thinking he must have gone into the coop with one of the kids and eaten chicken poo. Other vomits were like yellow frothy bile. He has never been one to vomit.
The random vomits continued until last Wednesday, 28/...Read more
11/18, he vomited again. And again, then again. I was a bit worried thinking he had eaten something he shouldn't have. Thursday, more vomiting, and on Friday, I took him to the vet. Nothing like that had happened before. The vet got another opinion and it was the same opinion that his belly felt hard and it was a bit tender. The vet admitted him to hospital, x-rayed him and could see an obstruction in the upper bowel but it wasn't possible to tell what it was from the x-ray. It looked like sand but the vet wasn't sure. He spent the day in hospital on IV fluids to try and flush out his system. I picked him up 6 hours later and took him home. I was advised to feed him only turkey/chicken and rice which I did. He was not his usual self. Still sad and I hadn't seen him poo. I took him back to the Vet on Saturday morning, vet felt his stomach and couldn't feel the obstruction. Great news! But I wasn't convinced because he was still subdued/sad/lacking his usual spirit. Continued with turkey and rice. Interestingly he definitely is not refusing his food. He is a lab/golden retriever cross. On Monday 3/12, the Vet called to see how he was and I said I couldn't say. He wasn't his old self, but he hadn't vomited either. That morning I had fed him a half serve of his usual food with some rice and turkey. At 6pm he threw up again. I decided not to feed him that evening. He then threw up at 2am (Tuesday 4/12) and then 7am. I did give him a few biscuits with turkey & rice then for breakfast, in hindsight I probably shouldn't have but I was worried as I hadn't fed him the night before. I rang the vet at 8.30am and took him back in. Vet couldn't feel anything in his belly except maybe his breakfast. He was admitted again and we decided the next course of action was to do a barium swallow to see if his digestive system is moving. Bloods were also taken. Everything came back normal but he was kept in overnight to observe. He was given a clean bill of health and was able to come home on the Wednesday morning, 5/12. Except he wasn't quite right. Today I messaged a friend i had made as our dogs are brothers and both service dogs. Her dog has been throwing up too. I think that is a strong coincidence. I know his health is related to this Bravecto. I won't be giving it to him again. I wish I hadn't given it to him at all. Dangerous. I'm thankful I have only given him 1 dose and have started detoxing him. Very frightening.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Will never use again.
Our dog has used Trifexis for years and it worked great. Recently they switched to carrying Bravecto and recommended we try it. I don't know why I switched but I did at my vets recommendation. One week after giving Bravecto there are no fleas but he has a severe rash with small patches of hair-loss and can't stop itching. The poor guy is miserable. I hope this wears off soon. I will never give Bravecto again! Back to Trifexis. I knew I should have never switched.

Terrrible, dangerous product
Was advised to use bravecto tablets from my vets!! My golden lab is now 2.5 years old, over the last year 3x after having the tablets she has woken up early hours of the morning vomiting, disorientation, she then starts to have fits and foaming at the mouth. Our vet was reluctant to believe it was the tablets until her last fit 1 month ago she fitted not even 24 hours after being given the tablet. I queried this with the vet who wanted me to pay for MRI, asked if it could be the tablet and she soon changed her tune and took my dog off the table...Read more

Do not use Bravecto!!
I HAD 2 healthy dogs. Both developed Immune Mediated Polyarthritis after their exposure to Bravecto. We first noticed my smaller dog limping and thought she had hurt her leg. After about 2 months of monitoring and the vet misdiagnosing, my dog gradually became extremely ill. We rushed her to a specialized veterinary hospital for treatment where she was diagnosed. The vet thought her illness might have been a reaction to an immunization that my dog was administered around the time she consumed her Bravecto. It wasn't until our second dogs got i...Read more
ll (18 months later) about a week after her Bravecto (with no other shots or medications) and I happened to see a post on Facebook warning about Bravecto that we made the connection. My vet was perplexed as to why two dogs who had no genetic relation who develop this rare condition. With my second dog, it began with gas and vomiting that persisted for about a month and then progressed to Immune Mediated Polyarthritis. Both of my dogs will likely suffer from this condition for their entire lives and need to take steroids to control it. How many dogs are getting ill with Bravecto? I wonder how many vets are failing to connect the dots and report this to the drug company and FDA?Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Our labrador was given Bravecto for the second time this spring. She got a tablet last year with very good effekt, but we noticed lethargy and hair loss for som week. This second time the reaction was much worse. And now she has trouble walking. We think she might have something wrong with the nervous system. Before the medication she had no such trouble at all. My elderly boxer had tremors in back legs straight after I gave her Bravecto. Fortunately she recovered but I have no doubt it was caused by Bravecto. This poison should be banned. Do some research and you will see that there are so many people with similar or worse experiences.

How long does it take for brave to to absorb/digest?

Anywhere starting from 30 minutes to 8 hours, depending on the dog and their metabolism and whether they ate right before, during or right after ingesting the Bravecto tablet.

We gave our 4 month old greyhound and out 8 year old foxy cross bravecto 4 weeks ago. The foxy is fine but our greyhound has started having mild facial seizures where he chomps and foams at the mouth every day. I am absolutely terrified. If anything happens to him it will destroy me. We only lost our last greyhound 6 months ago and still recovering emotionally and financially from that ordeal. We are at the vet tomorrow and he is going to say that it has nothing to do with the bravecto. I don't care. I'll never use it again. I just want him to be ok. Has anyone had a similar experience? Other than CBD oil what else can I do to try and get this poison out of him quickly? Thank you

oh that is awfull maybe he was too young for it or doseage too much . I hope your dog will get over this reaction / illness /i have never used any such products with previous pets just flea powder / paths . my pets do not have any alergic reactions to there medicines/ treatments / vaccinations cats on advocate dog staffi x on bravecto. i spend a lot of time with dog as she is like my siamese twin & sleeps in bed with me so i would notice if she did. but i am terribly sorry for your dogs ordeal.
Join the Bravecto kills dogs Facebook site. There are so many answers to your questions on there. But get milk thistle into his diet right away. Check dosage amount for detox the liver per weight of your pet. Change diet to raw immediately. Raw organic grass fed no antibiotics meat and sweet Potatoe. Then we sprinkle the milk thistle on top. I bought a bottle of milk thistle capsules from a natural store. go see a holistic vet. Our dog had a grand mal and we had to put her on keppra. Which is the most natural and easy to ween off anti seizure med. She hasn’t had one since one month ago but before that she had tremors constantly then one big seizure. Raced her to ER.
The diet change will help and please add milk thistle ASAP to food - feed 2-3 times a day and sprinkle each time. This stuff won’t leave blood stream for months so you need to detox liver and help support body. Ask them about keppra too as it may help immediately.
Find a homeopathic vet. And lodge a complaint with the APVMA about this. Doesn't matter what your vet says but I'd definitely be changing to a vet who cares. Any vet who tells you these drugs don't cause serious side effects is not telling the truth.
