I am sharing my recent experience with Bravecto in the hope that other pet owners make a more informed decision before using this product.
After years of using a topical tick and flea treatment I made the almost fatal decision of giving my 12 year old dog the Bravecto 3 month chewable tick and flea treatment for dogs.
It was the third time I had given her the treatment and looking back I think that the adverse reactions started after the first treatment. I noticed that her back legs would shake uncontrollably however at the time I did not ma...Read more
ke the connection and just assumed that it was due to her ageing. I continued with the use of Bravecto and unfortunately 2 weeks ago I gave her another 3 month chew with devastating affects. Within 6 hours of her taking the Bravecto she had a seizure that was so intense that I am shocked but so grateful she survived. She went on to have another 2 seizures in the next 48 hours. I immediately sought treatment through my local vet who told me that this could be a side effect to the Bravecto and that it may not be suitable for some animals especially of her age. I also attended a 24 hour veterinary hospital and was told the same thing by the vet that treated her.Purchased in May 2021.

Cat severely burned
I was recommended Bravecto by friend who swears by it how awesome it is for her cat. However when I used it on my cat his skin got totally burned (after only 12 hours of being on his skin) to point that was bleeding and I end up taking him to vet so he can get prescription meds so his spot can heal. Even the vet said that she has seen this happen several times in last months to cats and she will not be allowing more refill to cats. Was severely disappointed and heart broken for my cat the amount of pain and discomfort he went through. took over 4 weeks for spot to clear from bleeding and 3 moths for hair to start growing back. I wish I knew how severe the the hives and breakout can be from it.

Got a gut feeling this has ruined my dogs health.
First used a year ago, my dog a border collie, did not want to eat it at all, I ended up pushing it down his throat in bits. A few days later he had fits and lost all sense of balance. Vet said it was vestibular disease. Though he is now blind in one eye and after having another bravecto in July last year he had another episode of so called vestibular disease. I have given him another tablet today, before I had read about adverse effects of the bravecto tablets. As he didn't like it I mushed it up with dog food and bacon, which he eventually at...Read more
e. I feel like I have signed a death warrant for him. If these enormous pills have caused his health problems, which includes wobbles very weak balance, weak back leg strength. This bravecto should be banned.Purchased for A$40.00.

Really, No stars at all
I had 3 Llahsa Apso's - 2 of them had definite neurological issues after using bravecto for up to 2 plus doses over a period of time (roughly 6-8 months). I recall discussing it with the vet in 2016 who indicated they were not aware of issues. I also recall later halving doses even though I had bought the product suitable for small dogs.
The mother of the two puppies eventually lost her ability to walk in a straight line without falling down, seemed disorientated and mostly slept.
One of the puppies died after much suffering, ie lack of or...Read more
ientation, lack of ability to walk in a straight line which developed into not being able to walk at all. She was sadly euthanized after no longer being able to raise her head. Her mother outlived her, but I believe neither dogs lived their lives to its full potential burdened as they were, with neurological issues. I should have risked flea and ticks - but living in a high tick zone I did what I though was best at the time. I will never use or recommend this product.Similar opinion? Causes Seizures
After giving my 15 year old dog a 3 month Braveo chewable for fleas and ticks she was unwell for a while and later started having seizures. I took her to an emergency vet where they did tests, diagnosed her with a brain tumour and put her on seizure meds. 6 months and over $3,000 later, while I'm estatic she doesn't have a brain tumour, I wouldn't recommend this product to any one.

Causes Seizures in Dogs!
Switched to Bravecto 6 month spot on treatment for my beautiful Rhodesian Ridgeback. It has caused seizures and he nearly died on us. He is still very sick and don't know if he will make a full recovery. It can not be explained by anything else and vets have run full toxicology, Catscans etc. Please don't use this product!

Regretfully given to my dog
On June 29th we gave our 2 year old 28 pound doodle bravecto. Throughout the month of July he exhibited odd vomiting spells. We thought perhaps the summer heat? We made sure we only walked him early and then just before dawn ... he had no other symptoms at that time. Come August it was clear something was very wrong ... by Friday August 9th our pup was vomiting with diarrhea and not eating ... that following Sunday 11th we called the animal hospital and he was seen on the 12th ... he was given conservative treatment but was taken back to hos...Read more
pital on the 13th when he got an xray ... an incidental small foreign object was found nicely embedded in stomach tissue but after more tests was found NOT to be reason for his symptomology ... taken back to hospital on the 14th he was admitted and received infusion support ( fluids, medication). While inpatien his symtoms worsened ... he developed an unexplained angry hives all over his little body and refused all food offerings which included chicken steak even baby food! On the 15th after A LOT of nausea medication he ate breakfast, and was sent home with several medications to continue recovery from this mystery at home. That night on August 15th at 7pm he had a seizure ... new onset ... this dog never sick before this. Thanks to my smartphone I was able to capture part of the frightening event. I never even considered the bravecto ... but after the seizure we began to re access his symptoms ... and he is clearly fighting what has been widely dubbed as " bravecto poisoning". My vet suggested I call bravecto to report it, which I did ... the rep said " warnings were posted on the packaging" of course I didnt read it ... it was prescribed, and I didnt think I needed to concern myself beyond the fact that my vet recommended it. So ... now my otherwise active, funny, happy pup is curled in a ball in the back of his crate (door opened) unable to lift his head or open his eyes beyond long enough to expell the diarrhea. This poison will remain at full strength within his system until the dose expires ... who knows how long it lingers after that. I wish I had never given this product to my dog ... too late for my dog ...Purchased in June 2021 for A$80.00.

Like any drug,it's about the money.
I can only assume that because it is used on animals the regulations are not as strict. My advice, don’t ever use this product.
