Will the machine stop when it has run out of water?

Where can i get a manual?

My new bmc600 leaks into the carafe as soon as I pour water into the tank.
Is this a fault or am I doing something wrong.
The filter holder is firmly in place.

I have had my machine for 2 days. It’s now taking a good 30 minutes to brew 6 cups. Would this likely be how the coffee is ground? Like it’s too dense?
1 answer
It could be an issue with the water pump? We use standard supermarket ground coffee and a full 12 cup pot takes less than 10 minutes.

Why does the lcd display not light up on theBCM 600 hard to see display when setting timer ?

Bought this for my American wife who loves her drip coffee, but I'm wondering which brands of ground coffee people are using to get the best results?

I like lavazza qualita oro-two types (the blue dot is slightly less strong than the red dot oro) also crema e gusto is a mild robusta mix,as always individual tastes vary and at least with lavazza you can try the blue dot oro in the really cheap really small 125gram pack(about $5).
Amazing, thank you! A perfect place to start I'd say :)

it won't brew, or not even heat up after a year, what and how to repair or replace parts?
1 answer
Hi,
The only thing I could suggest is to contact Breville. It is an inexpensive unit and it would probably cost more to fix it than to buy another one.
Cheers

My machine is not heating the water (not dripping). The clock is on though!
Does anyone know what is wrang with it and/or how to repair it?
Thanks
1 answer
Best to contact Breville direct. I had an older Breville drip machine that this happened to, it wasnt worth repairing (cost greater than purchase of another machine), only lasted a couple of years. I'm hoping this one lasts longer.

Can you reheat coffee/tea?
3 answers
No. It keeps it warm for 2hours then switches off.
It stays warm for a long time. When it switches off and coffee gets cold, poor coffee in another jar or mugs and warm up on microwave.
Alternatively, you could buy a separate thermal carafe to store the coffee after brewing. They are insulated and will keep the coffee warm for several hours. A good one (e.g. from Thermos) costs maybe around $50.
But microwaving is fine.

Does this machine keep the coffee warm or hot? I'm after the hot function. Thanks.

It really comes down to taste preference. What coffee do you enjoy when you are out and about? Most cafes sell their name brand coffee by the bag either pre-ground or in bean form. Basically it's whatever floats your boat!!!
I like my coffee fresh so I grind my own beans in a spice grinder. Favourite at the moment are Byron Bay organic beans which I buy by the 1 kg bag at Northey St Farmers Market in Brisbane (available online).

Can someone please tell me in mls the capacity of the carafe, i am unsure if the 12 cup capacity is in terms of espresso shots or an entire cup with a dash of milk
1 answer
I guess it depends on how you like your coffee. I like cappuccino. For the perfect cup for me I fill the basket to about three quarters full with freshly ground Byron Bay Organic coffee beans and fill the water container to around 10 cups. Froth 60ml of milk, pour into a mug, then fill the rest of the cup with the coffee from the carafe. I end up with about 6 to 7 mug size cappuccinos. If I need more I put in another few cups of water and run it through without changing the beans. You lose water to the steam while it makes the coffee so 12 cups of water doesn't equal 12 cups of coffee.
If you prefer expresso I would presume you put in less water for a stronger brew. It's really a matter of experimenting with the amount of water and coffee to make the perfect brew for you.

We bought a new unit two days ago, but after using the auto mode for coffee at 6am, the time defaults to 12:00 and we have reset the time, both mornings since we got it. Is there something I need to do to keep the time set always? No power outages or anything, all other digital appliances are fine.
S.Easked
I bought it and I am happy but one thing I can't figure out is:
how do you make the LCD time display light? I want to program the machine to start at different times and it's hard to see the hour and the minutes when the LCD screen with the time has no light.... Do I have a problem with my machine because there is no light on the LCD display screen?
I bought my coffee maker two months ago

My machine has a light maybe yours is faulty. I set the timer on mine twice and it didnt work either time . Hope this helps :)
@leah n
I don't understand your answer. After you set the time it didn't work? You mean the light on the LCD screen switched off after you set the time? Or do you still have the light on the LCD screen even after you adjusted the time?
Nicoleasked
I should of read these reviews before purchasing.. Love the machine just one slight problem. Constant condensation and dripping when lid is opened! Is it just a fault? Do they ALL have this problem?? And anything to fix it? It's rather annoying and always have to have a tea towel or something similar close by so that I can wipe the water off the power cord! It's quite dangerous!
1 answer
Yet another fault in the design Nicole. It's like they built a machine that it about 85% right - but we the consuers, want 100%. It is a shame and in fact i would ave happily paid another $5 - $10.00 if it ticked all the boxes - it doesn't!

We smashed our thermal carafe or jug after one second of opening it :(. Only newlyweds and can't afford a whole new one. We would love to buy a replacement! Anyone know where to get one or how much? Thankyou.

Dear Ashleybaby5. Yes we do have a spare carafe. We live in Canberra so depending on where you are located the cost of shipping and sale might be too much for you to consider. Let me know if you want to discuss. email [email protected]

I bought a aromatic style electronic BCM600 but after the water drips through the power on button does not light up no longer switches itself off is this normal?
2 answers
I use the timer to set up the coffee at night to be automatically turned on at 6 AM. The red light comes on, the coffee is brewed, and when we have breakfast there is no delay. The red light, and the warming coil, remain on for two hours, and then automatically turns off. This routine works pretty well, but after about a year the whole thing burns out. The last three units have been within warranty period, so we got a new unit from the retailer.
Overall, we're happy.
Thanks terry_hull
sinds i posted the question I have contacted the breville people and unfortunatly i have a faulty or broken machine so they going to repair it for me or totally replace and give a new one
