After nearly 2 years this is still the BEST oven I have bought.
LG $1000 oven was not a patch on this one. We have now deleted our 'normal' oven and just use this one. Most reviews are just after the purchase. I have been using this one for almost 2 years now and it has never let me down. I cook a lot and can not fault this oven. Sometimes I wish I could fit my larger pans inside, but I have now adapted. The main thing I have noticed is that it is much quicker than other ovens, probably as there is not so much space to heat. I have used all functions and can thoroughly recommend this product. If it died tomorrow I would go out and buy another. Well done Breville.

Love this oven!
Got this oven from my friends for my birthday! Best gift ever!
This compact oven is so easy to use and has so many pre set cooking functions, we mainly use this oven now and dont use our conventional oven anymore.
The only negative point is that the light in the oven stopped working after a few months of usage!

Loving this little oven.
Excellent small oven. Way big enough for 3 adults. It’s a generous size and fits most of my main oven dishes. Quick to heat up and extremely easy to navigate your way around the settings. Very easy to keep clean as well. Haven’t used the main oven since we got it. A+ review

Great little versatile cooker
We had the previous model the BOV800 now we have the Pro version BOV845 which replaced it. It now comes with internal light and Slow Cooker setting.
Same price as the previous model. Excellent value and economy.
All digital readout...no brainer so easy to use. I cannot recommend this product enough.

Great Product & Super Handy!
I needed a smaller oven for small cook ups or to cook food quickly without turning on my 900mm oven. I got the Breville Smart Oven on special and it has been my best kitchen appliance purchase. It’s easy to use and has many pre set cooking functions. It’s well built and it’s not flimsy like other similar ovens. I’ve now got rid of my toaster and I use the Breville just as often as my conventional oven.

convection fan very noisy and slows down
Our beautiful breville smart oven purchased on 17/1/2017 has decided to blow the convection fan. I thought it came with a 12 month replacement warranty. Out of warranty by 3 months. Checked by receipt .WOW..... has a² year replacement warranty and I took Hervey Norman 36 months warranty
. Back to Hervey Norman tomorrow will keep you informed!

Hervey Norman happily vreplaced the oven with the latest model. The whole procedure took about 20 minutes. Great service and I have a new oven. Can't live without our Breville smart oven!

Breville Smart Oven
Have had this oven for more than 14yrs & hasn't missed a beat. Would recommend to anyone as a second oven. Doesn't take long to heat up to required temperature (not like conventional ovens which take some time) so very cost effective. Have re-heated, bake cakes etc, used for slow cooking it is fantastic.

Excellent
Wife wanted an oven which is easy to use and works well. Used it multiple times and still going strong. Easy to clean and can't fault it. Got a good deal when we bought it at The Good Guys.
She's very happy and even I know how to operate it.

Simple, functional and worth it.
No microwave in our household and living in a hot climate means heating up the oven heats the whole house even in Summer. This benchtop oven is used multiple times a day in our family and has cut our electricity bill massively! Safety wise I know it will stop at the end of the cooking time in case I get distracted. Even my young sons use it confidently!

beyond a toaster oven
seems to be able to do most everything you can with a full sized oven as long as it fits. plenty of settings makes it easier to cook something unfamiliar. easier to clean and light enough that you can put it away while not in use to free up space.

an amazing product
When our family became smaller we brought the oven instead of using the big oven.
I am so pleased with how easy it is to use, the instructions are easy to follow, our meals can be cooked in the time it takes the larger oven to heat.
I like how compact the oven is & that it sits nicely on my bench, it is easy to clean & I can cook many different ways.
Also, my electricity bill has dropped, I contrbute this to the oven.
My daughter was impressed with the oven, she to has bought the same design

Everything we need, but compact
When our oven kicked the bucket we realised we didn't even use it very much anymore. We have a decent microwave which we use all the time, but it doesn't do roasts, potatoes, pizzas, grilled cheese, slow cooking, etc. So I researched and found this Breville oven. It is fantastic. It looks good. We love it. It fits neatly on the countertop, it is quiet, it has a heap of functions and settings and it is so easy to use, even my daughters use it all the time. We couldn't be happier with this oven. It is perfect for what we need it for and alt...Read more
hough it looks small, it takes a large chicken and veggies when cooking a roast. It also has an extended section in the middle of the oven for the large pizza tray to fit nicely. We highly recommend this oven and glad we made the purchase - it was also pretty inexpensive for what you get.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Does everything that Breville says it does!
We use this because we are in a rental and do not want to use the built in oven. Initially we were looking at the Sunbeam bt7100, but were dicouraged by all the bad reviews on it. I am so glad that we decided on the Breville, it works perfectly, does a beautiful roast chicken and toasts realy well, better than our toaster.
It has a two year warranty which I also like.
One of the biggest critisisms of the Sunbeam was that it has no light and you are unable to see the progress of food cooking. The Breville has a bright and brilliant light that ...Read more

Great compact oven!
We have had this oven for a short time and have successfully baked keto bread, cooked pizza & beef. The temperature control is excellent and it is very easy to use. It has a sturdy build quality, does not take up much bench space and despite looking quite small, it has enough space inside to cook a 12" pizza or a large chicken.
The oven heats up quickly and cooks things very well. We have had to lower temperatures and / or times for recipes to avoid overcooking or burning. It has a sturdy door with a magnetic function that pull out the hot tray part way if you are using the middle rack - nice feature.
Overall we are very happy with this purchase.

Really impressive!
Love this Oven. Have had it for month or so now... Has been really good with roasts and pizzas. A must have appliance if you don't have a proper oven.
The preset functions makes life so easy. Just place the stuff in and spin the dial to item you are after!
Go for it!

Easy to use; accurate temperatures; design faults; fire danger.
First the fire danger:
So far I've had a fire in the oven a few times grilling steak and once while roasting chicken. I've since watched it all the time after turning up the temperature; and, for grilling steak, I watch without ever turning away.
The heat elements are the ceramic-tube-spiral-wire type; they run at very high surface temperatures --- high enough to set fire to fat spits and oil vapours. Very scary.
The chicken fire was after turning up the heat on a chicken which had been coated with a basting of oil-and-fat emulsified wit...Read more
h orange juice (and a big variety of spices but they, nor the orange juice, didn't add to the fire risk) --- ordinary enough procedure for roasting chicken. The surface liquids from the chicken, with the evaporated oil from the ban below and the spits as moisture dripped into the accumulated oils among the vegetables...hit the overly-hot elements and, despite the air convecting, a fire started. The steak-grilling fires were started when oil evaporated from the steak into the elements; and when fat spattered into the elements from the steak; and the evaporated oil and/or fat also contributed to the fires. The four elements control the air temperature and radiate to food. They cycle between full-on and full-off. The air-temperature is accurately controlled. The oven makes the best toast ever; probably because the elements put out high-frequency heat, which surface-toasts more than low-frequency heat; so, trying to get a slightly-brown chicken skin, I turned up the temperature and, shortly after that, had the fire. The elements should be electronically cycled continuously (not switched full-on/off); correct temperature control would vary from glowing to nearly-white hot. For roasting (with such as a chicken --- close to the top elements) there should be no fire risk. The elements should be kept hot enough to heat the chicken and the air but not hot enough to set fire to fat and oil fumes; by cycling continuously not cycling from full-on to full-off and back. Presently, big gaps in between on-and-off allow variable temperatures, except when, with a chicken inside, one tries to increase the air temperature without starting a fire.2 comments

ng has these days) but I doubt there's anything to say "don't grill steak it is almost certain to catch fire" or "don't turn up the heat with a whole chicken in; it is likely to catch fire" and, if they did, they'd be likely to cause the opinion that they are claiming to make a dangerous badly-thought-out product as if it was designed to sell rather than to actually do a safe good lot of work.Similar opinion? Best of the bunch among its piers
Pretty good all round oven for someone cooking smaller quantities. Good grill, bake and roast functions eliminating the need for other bench top appliances. Gets to a decent heat which is why I purchased this model - some are no better than toasters. Good to have the light inside and fan for faster cooking

Amazing.
I needed a small convection oven to be used alongside a main oven. This solution was perfect. It cooks the food fairly evenly and quickly and although the exterior does get (understandably) hot, the heat quickly dissipates. The digital menu is friendly and accessible & overall it has been a good experience.

Truly the best!
I decided on the Breville Smart Oven Pro BOV845 after going through heaps of review on Amazon and here. This little oven has been amazing since we bought it. It heats up very quickly and cooks very evenly. I think it does a far better job than my full size Miele oven, which we hardly use anymore. We no longer have to heat up a whole big oven just to roast a chicken fillet, some vegetables, or even an entire chicken. All the functions work as they are meant to, and we use it almost twice daily to whip up meals and snacks for the family. Cleaning is also a breeze with the removable crumb tray. It is definitely highly recommended!

Breville BOV845 -- for bake setting, timer is stuck at 30 minutes. Won't adjust. Oven will reach temperature and then start count down but I cannot change the time setting either up or down. For other setting the same thing happens...timer stays at preset time and won't adjust.
Need help.
Thanks,
Pat

Hi Pat, I haven't actually had this problem, but I have found Breville to be absolutely excellent when it comes to replacing faulty products. Get in touch with the supplier from whom you bought the machine, and give them your receipt number and they'll fix it or replace it.

My Breville toaster (just out of warranty) is making a low pitched noise, sometimes a high pitched noise and also lights flash on the display. Something is really wrong. When you tap it on the side, it stops and then functions normally. This also happens when it’s not in use. I’ was told the repair will cost $120 so, I’d like to fix it myself. Any ideas?
