Wasnt easy to pick up the car but could handle that. Then two months after was rented they took $94 from my account for <$25 worth of tolls. They didnt give a breakdown of the costs or fees and then claimed the fine print said they could do that but it still didnt add up even with that. Customer service was rude and difficult and unhelpful they refuse to talk on the phone and did not respond to email complaints. I will be going to fair trading and suggest the other complainants on here do the same

Service is made unclear when booking. Absolutely atrocious service. Long, tedious pick up process. Ridiculously excessive toll fees (paid $50 to use $9 worth of tolls). For the same price could of gone with a reputable company with far more convenience and a better car. Absolutely never again

Car was fully scratched, trims hanging off,rear bumper loose, seats stained, 165000 hard kms, brakes sounded like they were metal on metal, and a wobble at 100km per hour, oh, and 46 bucks billed to my card weeks later for 2 tolls that would normally be about 5 bucks worth, my advice, stay away, far far away

One month on after the worst experience of my life and I still haven't heard from Carhood.
Completely unreachable in an emergency which left us over $600 out of pocket. Worst experience with any company in my life! Urgent requests for help still unanswered a month later! Live chat is not 'live chat' but a ticket service - no one ever responds. The emergency number directs you to -you guessed it- the live chat! If I could give negative 10 stars I would! Angry beyond belief at how this company left us stranded. Avoid at all costs!!

The vehicle wasn't the one we expected but we were upgraded to a better car at no extra cost. We wer wuite happy.

Used car for running around and visiting hospital within the Sutherland shire. Would definitely use again. Only criticism is car smelt stale. Like someone had carried fried food in it

The service was great. I would of used it the next time I hired except your hours of operation were not convenient. The staff are friendly but when someone is flying in or out it's hard to organise a taxi to or from depot to airport when depot is closed

We hired our car through Carhood for 2 days in Brisbane withe the family and they were superb . Customer Service was second to none !! We got a free upgrade to a larger newer vehicle for free . No hassles, no problems . The smoothest car hiring process I have ever experienced
Will be back and will definitely use them again.

Before I had even stepped out of the car on returning it, they said I had caused damage without even checking any records. It felt like a complete set up.
When I tried to go through it with them they acted as I if I was the crook when every step has shown their behaviour to lack transparency, honesty, ethical let alone best practice.
They had already tried to prevent a cancellation contrary to the clearly written statement of free cancellation on the booking confirmation.

Can't just get the tolls charged to you like a normal car rental. Have to purchase a package or risk paying cost of tolls plus $38 admin fee. We hired a small car for just the 2 of us.

1. The tolls fee, we had the car for 4 days but only needed toll pass for 2 days yet had to pay for all 4days. (We didn’t end up using that option as the price ended up very expensive for no reason).

The car I booked was clean and tidy albeit a little older than I expected but nonetheless clean and tidy.
I only had a short trip and the car performed as well as I would have expected, definitely no complaints. I have already informed my staff to utilise the services of Car Hood when they next visit Melbourne.

As we don't speak english fluently they took time to explain us the contract, the tolls, the insurances. The vehicule was the one I've booked, the good size but not the gearbox (I've booked a manual one, not an automatic, but it doesn't really matter). We booked ahead this car for a 10 days trip around this amazing land (Victoria : great Ocean Road and Melbourne).

1. They are 20 mins from Melbourne airport, that is after waiting 20 mins to be picked up by their shuttle bus.
2. They charge, wait for it, $40 ADMIN FEE if you at going to use tolls. That is on top of the tolls! You can select the $17 per day coverage but that doesn't work out to be cheaper in my case at all!
3. The mini l loaned had a tire warning light soon after we left, called them and they said it...

Carhood are not fair and reasonable. I returned the vehicle with a full tank of fuel. They charged me a fee of $50 to put an additional $3 worth of fuel in the tank. I supplied photos of the gauge which in my opinion is was full, and the photo of the receipt of $40.00 for fuel. You cannot call them, to discuss, they do not reply to your emails.
I DO NOT RECOMEND USING CARHOOD.

Got stung $360 for a minor repair was only picked up a one day after I returned the car
On the last and final occasion I used carhood, my (fully insured) vehicle was checked for damage on return and ok'd. A day later I was informed there was a mark (see the image they send me: it looks like a stone chip) on the door and they were withholding my $500 deposit.
This what the insurance company wrote to me:
"We have been advised by Carhood Brisbane that the vehicle you recently returned from rent sustained new damage during your rental period. The damage is located on the driver's door. Please see attached photo.
