Used on my bmw 120i

published

Used different types of oil for my engine Penrite, Mobile etc and by far this oil lasts the longest and makes my engine sing happy.

No idea why but this one sustains the longest the other ones that was used don’t last very long and it seems that the engine needs more oil to be happy with other oil brands. Will use this for a lifetime on all my cars.

Purchased in January 2021 for A$30.00.

Good motor oil

published

Have used for around 7 years or ao in my Subaru liberty 3.0 wagon. I'm convinced it's the only reason the motor still exhibits signs of oil pressure. Changed rigorously between every 5-7000km. Wait for specials and buy the 10 liter containers. Have recently switched to Valvoline but may go back.

I wouldn't have a clue. Is your S80 a 2.5l turbo, a 2.9l, a 3.2l, a 2.4l turbo diesel, a 2.8l turbo, a 2.9l twin turbo, a 3.0l turbo, a 4.4l V8??????????
You've asked a vague question. In any case, stay away from Castrol, it's a crap product.

I think there are 2 issues, here 1 is it is a European car, 2 it is a more 'old ' car
Engine oil is a very intriguing topic, only certain oil suits certain car, or even certain model series, best I found is to talk to Supercheap or Repco sales, they are very knowledgeable, Supercheap has customer accessible software screen.
I am not a fan of Castrol 5W-30 after comparing it to all other brands except Volvoline which I had not tried, I read a lot on the topic too. Castrol Edge 5-30 vapourises a lot & breaks down very fast. For my Corolla, both 6 & 10 years old, Shell Helix HX8 or Penrite Full zinc 5-30 are best, Nulon is not bad, Mobil 1 is OK, Castrol is essentially a low grade synthetic oil.
I doubt anyone will recommend you such a thin oil 5W-30 at all, using thinner oil is very dangerous to your engine pistons.
