Great camera... when it works
We’ve had this camera for about 2.5 years, the set up was a little frustrating but we got there in the end. I’d give it a five star rating for picture and sound quality, but the reliability of the app is where it all falls apart. As others have said, it drops out all the time. I often don’t find it too annoying, we use this when we’ve put our children to bed for the evening in our room and we are in the lounge, it plays a sound, similar to crickets, and if the sound stops, I know the app has crashed and I just re-boot, mostly this works but on ...
Read moreoccasion I end up rebooting multiple times and it’s still not working. so frustrating! We’ve recently started having issues however where the camera just won’t connect at all, light on the back is red, won’t change to green. I ended up doing a full reset and setting it up again, worked for a few days and now back to the red light, unfortunately not under warranty anymore, so we’d be left forking out hundreds of dollars for a replacement one. The picture and sound quality are far better than any other baby monitor I have ever seen, it’s just a shame the app is unreliable.

Cant add a camera since the firmware upgrade 30th April.
Terrible - have spent days trying to get our two camera's added. I upgraded our home router so I had to add the camera's again as the wifi details changed. No joy. Eventually thinking it might be the new router - I plugged the old one back in, and same issues. This all happend after the latest firmware update.
First firmware update in 2 years - I presumed they were trying to fix the issues that people have been complaining about and giving 1 stars for the entire 2017
Also giving a 1 star as even when the camera's used to connect and be added into the mydlink system - we had the exact same constant freezing issue that everyone else is complaining about.

Utter crap. It surely breaches ACL provisions to advertise this as a baby camera with push alerts
The alerts do not work on iPhone or android and the camera constantly looses connection. It is entirely unfit for its intended purpose.I will also be making a complaint to fair trading, as the claims made on the product packaging are clearly false and D-Link seem to be aware of this but unwilling to do anything about it.
Worst Baby Camera in History of Baby Cameras
Absolute rubbish product. App and/or Camera Freezes constantly. Have even manually updated Firmware - a process akin to having Root Canal, no actually, Root Canal is more fun. D-Link refuses to refund, stating "D-Link do not provide refunds under any circumstances". Arrogant response, has put me off D-Link for life.

Agree with others - absolutely waste of money
Wish I read all comments from others before buying it . Apps not working, it freezes, it's slow. U think the baby is asleep but actually the app stops working and frozen . Do not buy not even $1 . A $50 eBay one works a lot better than this at least it never freeze. Dlinks biggest failure . Will never use Any Dlink product again. .
Faulty app
Do not buy this product. The app is faulty and d-link has advised they do not plan to fix it. The app freezes when you think you are watching a screen that is real time which very dangerous when you have small kids and defeats the purpose of having a camera. D-Link should be ashamed that they don't plan on fixing this

Don't buy it, so unreliable.
My husband really wanted this monitor as he had seen it in action with our nephew, so we went with it. Unfortunately, while on paper it sounds perfect, in practice it's scarily unreliable.
While I love being able to connect any device to the camera and that I can access it away from home the app is fault ridden.
It constantly freezes, often it will freeze up to 6 times in 5 mins, I'm serious I've actually timed it. This has happened overnight more times then I can count; so much so that I now leave the bedroom door open so I can hear he...
Read morer if the app fails while I'm sleeping. If the app doesn't freeze often the sound disappears. A mother needs to be able to hear her baby to wake up. Additionally, the app often can't find the camera, this may affect one device but not others. It is clearly a problem with the app as all devices are using the same wifi. I have to kill the app several times to get it to work.Other Baby Monitors
Compare best Baby MonitorsAbsolute waste of money!
Bought this device a year ago, has never worked properly ever since I bought it. Never stays connected, keeps dropping out and freezes, I think my kid is asleep where as my kid is yelling away in the room. Massive lag on the occasional days it decides to work. I have now removed this crappy device and gone back to the old school camera which is so much more reliable and Works!!

Seemed like a good idea...
This camera was purchased so I didn't have to carry around a separate monitor device with my phone - really liked the idea of the monitor running through my phone.
The app is not reliable at all. Terrible reviews through the App Store (I use an iPhone). App freezes constantly. Drops out without warning. When the sound does come through phone speaker it's noisy and crackly (but this actually serves to tell me it's working, albeit very annoying!). If you use your phone to take a call/play music etc the app stops transmitting sound and I have to...

Don't buy!
When the monitor actually works the audio and image quality are great. Music selection is fine. Unfortunately the device never works. The camera constantly disconnects (for absolutely no reason). D-link owe me a refund for all the time I waste trying to connect the camera and then giving up and then walking up/down the hallway to check on bubs. Wouldn't even buy this device for my worst enemy.

Bad luck if needed in emergency
Impossible to reset the password and log back in on any mobile device, which is what I would assume this is designed to do.
The dlink app(s) do not all link together yet use the same id (I can only presume to track your private data) which are unusable and crashed consistently on Android and iPhone. Good idea, poorly executed.

Terrible - I wouldn't recommend it
The camera is fine but the monitor software/app is appalling. It drops out constantly without any kind of sound notification to alert you that is has lost signal.
My daughter was only a couple of months old when I moved her upstairs and started using this monitor. The first time it lost signal,it was 45 mins before I realised. I was downstairs completely oblivious. When I got to her she had been crying so hard that she had soaked the sheet with tears and vomit. I was horrified and started using our old monitor as a back up.
That was 2 years ago and the the software has gotten worse with every update. I couldn't even give this monitor away in good conscience let alone sell it when I'm done with it. Very disappointing!
Rubbish. Extremely frustrating!
It's terrible. Extremely unreliable. It connection always (always!) cuts out.
It started out working reasonably well, but it's only been about 4 months since it was purchased and now it doesn't work the majority of the time.
I really regret this purchase will not be buying from this company again.
Frustration Plus!!
Being a new first time mum can be frustrating enough, but this camera multiplies frustrations 10-fold.
The connection is unreliable and slow. When it drops out, the only tell-tale sign you might have is that the clock at the top of the screen has stopped. You could glance at a nice image of your peacefully sleeping baby for 20 minutes or more before you realise it's a frozen image and your baby could be crying or rolled over or anything else.
The manufacturing quality is poor - on my camera in particular the power cord does not stay in the ...
