David Jones repeated "ERROR" website issue
About 2-3 months ago I could not log onto the David Jones website. It continuously had an error message every time I attempted to log on or even view the website. I contacted customer service twice and they managed to fix the problem at their end. Some six weeks later the same problem has happened again.
Customer service told me this time to change my computer settings. I have had no issues with other retailer's websites. As a David Jones American Express cardholder, I guess this is when I just cut the card.

Worst online shopping experience
My order was only delivered a month post order. When it arrived, one of the four items were missing and there was a receipt from a third party (Hermanns) that indicates there’s a refund, but the refund is no where to be seen on my original card of purchase.

I wanted a button up shirt in the next size at a Gold Coast DJ store. They didn’t have it, so then looked up what stores did have one (one in Victoria). However, rather than ringing the store, the sales lady suggested I order online and they would check all Aus stores and send it to my home. So we did.
The sales lady ordered my item for me (at the store), made me pay for it ($160) and said if there was any issues, just bring back the receipt and they’d refund my money.

someone would contact me about a refund (that was Monday 17/2/2020. By Wednesday, I hadn’t heard anything, so I rang online customer service who told me I had to get my refund from the store. I then rang the store who eventually told me that I had to ring online customer service about it. I rang online back and was told they’d put in a request, but again that someone would contact me. It’s now Saturday and I’ve heard nothing and received no refund. To be made to pay for an item that isn’t there to order in the first place and to then withhold my $160 for a week (or more by the time this mess is sorted) is unlawful!!! I am disgusted that I have to be the one to chase up a refund that should never have been processed in the first place. I will never order anything from DJs again! And if this is not resolved quickly, I will be talking to Fair Trade to settle the matter for me!

Slow process in refunding to my Afterpay account
Took 10 days to process the refund into my Afterpay account. This is unlike other merchants that can do the refund immediately at cash registers. Had to call them multiple times to discuss this issue. No wonder why everyone prefer to shop at other retailers. Furthermore, I am still waiting for my refund until now.

Poor product and service
Boots advertised by popular brand were misrepresented in terms of quality and colour.
Had to pay for return which is against consumer rights but I went along with it as too worried about getting the full refund.
Will never buy another thing from them again!
Always trusted their brand but it’s now rubbish!

Bad customer experience
Shopping at David Jones was one of the worst experiences I've had. I was looking to buy shoes for my forthcoming wedding. When visiting one of David Jones stores, I found a very suitable pair of shoes, but, unfortunately, my size was unavailable. During the first call, instead of transferring us to the shoe department, they just hung up. The second time, a girl on the line told us that it was not her department and instead of helping us out she just hung up saying "It is not the shoe department. Bye". When we arrived at Burwood, it turned out that they were also out of stock. We asked to provide us with an explanation for why this had happened, but they refused to help us. Terrible customer service
I have experienced the worst online shopping experience with David Jones. I ordered a dryer 8 days ago no correspondence at all. I had to contact them in regards to my order. Today 8 days later after numerous phone calls I receive a email saying product not available for a month. I can’t complain about the service as there simply isn’t any. David Jones really shouldn’t do online sales.

Trying to call a store
I've had to call the Chatswood Chase store a couple of times over the last week and you have to talk to a "virtual assistant" After waiting over 5Mins and asking to be put through to Chatswood Chase they put me through to Chadstone, VIC.
The virtual assistant is currently putting me through to a receptionist - I've been on hold for 12mins and counting.
If department stores continue offering such poor service no wonder they are closing down and customers buy online from other sources.

Month long debacle
Ordered a fan online, click and collect was unavailable, so I decided to to have it delivered.
Parcel got lost by AusPost, and when I notified DJs a little after a week from when I placed my order I was left in the lurch.
The said they’d contact AusPost and give them 3 days to action, it took over a week. When I called up I asked if my order would be honoured once AusPost had declared the package lost, they said “Yes if it is in stock”. still stock, so I think it was plain laziness to not fulfil the order. Their refund email states how long it’ll take for a refund to process for bank debit, credit,Amex. No time is specified for evoucher refunds. Turns out when I called it’s 10 days! By this point it’s been a month since I purchased the product, and I had to wait another 10 days, unbelievable. I could see the fan that I wanted had restocked and was available for click and collect in my local DJs, and all the operator could do was confirm, yep it’s in stock. Rubbish virtual answering
I am writing to complain about the ridiculous virtual answering service David Jones have in place. ‘Liz’ the Virtual voice, doesn’t understand what you are saying - and then I was put on hold listening to the worst repetitive tune - I tried several times thinking it was a joke! Each time it took over 7 mins then 10 mins. All I wanted was to be transferred to a department! No one interrupted that shocking music to say you are in a queue or your call is important etc!!
Where is the personal touch that we have all loved and respected over the years of being very good customers of David Jones. This virtual rubbish is what will finally turn people away from DJ’s.

Awful customer service!
I ordered a dress from the David Jones online store. The dress came with multiple make up/fake tan stains on the front of the dress, and as the dress was white it was quite noticeable. I emailed the David Jones customer service team and did not get a response. I then called the David Jones customer service team and was told that I could return the dress at my own cost, to have a new dress posted out at my own cost (and I had already paid $12 for the original postage). d. The only solution David Jones could offer was for me to pay an extra $36 to receive the dress, likely weeks after ordering, despite them sending me a faulty product. What’s worse the customer service representative was incredibly rude saying ‘that’s just how it is, someone will get back to you by email’ (and couldn’t even give me a rough time frame on how long said email would take). When my online order arrived two of the four items were incorrect and after numerous mails, attaching images, explaining and following up I was left to my own devices to go to a store and sort it out.

Rep was not helpful and condescending
I ordered a smartwatch online Sunday after 5. Wife didn't want it as a gift with the poor reviews on the Kate Spade SW. I called 1800354663 to ask to cancel. I was told that there was nothing they can do as the system does not allow changes. The rep was being condescending as well. I told the rep that she was being that and all she said was it was fine. People wonder why the big retailers are loosing. From my experience its poor service and bad attitudes.

Lovely David Jones Brand Bath Robe
I was lured into David Jones for a clearance sale hoping for a bargain bath robe in natural materials for winter to replace a fluffy synthetic one (trying to eliminate micro plastics from my washing). e stitching seems very good and the design is lovely. Sadly it wasn't on sale, but it was at a lower cost than other high end brands and it seems as though the quality is just as good. Ridiculous virtual assistant
I called the glen waverley store to place an order. I was greeted by a phone virtual assistant who did anything but assist. I asked for customer service and was left listening to music for 6 minutes. I hung up and called the 1800 customer service number but again, the virtual assistant! Left listening to music for another 7 minutes this time. Don’t bother calling if you don’t want to get frustrated with the lack of service. Unfortunately in trying to save money, they will lose loyal customers.

Worst wedding gift registry experience
We decided to go with David Jones for our wedding gift registry in Melbourne over Myer as we visited both and David Jones has newer more updated stock compared to Myer. Firstly, you can’t start a gift registry at any DJ’s, you have to go into the city store to start it. We went, paid a fortune for parking only to sit in the gift registry office for a few minutes giving minor details such as full name, address and wedding date... what a waste of time. convenient. After scanning all our gifts, we were unsure if DJ’s were ever going to send us the gift registry cards for our invitations to send to guests. We had to call multiple times and email with email follow ups to try and get onto them, pressured for time. Finally they got back to us and sent them out leaving us to send our invitations out much later than what we wanted to. Our guests kept calling and messaging us as they also had multiple different issues dealing with the registry such as staff saying they couldn’t remove things that were bought two or three times by different people, guests buying online paying extra delivery fees and receiving broken items in the mail leaving them to have to go back into the store to exchange items, a few items on our registry were discontinued so the guests would ask DJ’s if they could contact us to let us know yet we received no phone call or any form of contact from the gift registry staff to let us know. We kept looking at our list to see what had been purchased and there were so many times that things were bought twice and DJ’s just expressed their lack of care on the matter. I started to remove items that had been bought to ensure guests stopped buying doubles and then DJ’s said we wouldn’t get our delivery after the wedding because that list is their packing list? They have no other system or master copy of your registry, just what you can see so god forbid it gets wiped or you update something. We had so many times that we needed to get in contact with someone and we had no luck, at one point I was calling the gift registry office everyday without success, leaving messages to return my call and got no callbacks at all. I had to send ten emails at once all labelled URGENT in the subject to get their attention and even then, it took them 3-4 days to give me a blunt, dry reply. To smooth out an issue it took 2 weeks minimum. Honestly ridiculous and such a horrible experience, we wished we went with Myer and can only hope to educate everyone planning a gift registry to please please please go with Myer to save yourself the extra hassle and stress that you don’t need leading up to your wedding!!!Similar opinion? Yep very busy closing stores
Called out about why my order was not dispatched 2 weeks ago and gave me a claim number, 2 weeks after order still progress. I have inform them that I want a refund, and they said they will email a resolution team and should get in to contact with me soon. Still no response.
