Coffee turned out great for two weeks
Purchased the coffee machine 2 weeks ago, worked well, everything working as it should, today it decided to allow all the water to flow through the machine whilst it was off and leaked out over the drip tray all over the bench and down onto the floor,
Machine has been used less than 20 times since purchase.
When the machine is off it still leaks into the drip tray and when it is on it does the same.
Something internal has failed.

La specialista
Bought it online and look is beautiful, but I continue have issues with the water pushing through. I find that the milk frother does last long enough and coffee remains cold. I am buying a filter to replace the current and I hope it is adaptable and I hope that solves te problem of the water not pushing through. If this continues I maybe selling it and going back to Breville.

Perfect way to start the day, amazing coffee every time
This is a very easy machine to use and makes amazing coffee every time - I have never owned a coffee machine before, and have had no problems with it. The coffee could be a bit hotter but otherwise, it's perfect. I have used many different types of coffee beans with the machine as well, and it's consistently great. Perfect way to start my day - I make a coffee every morning with it and would highly recommend.

This is the best machine I have ever owned. Makes beautiful hot coffee with great crema every time. Fantastic advice from DeLonghi on how to set up the machine. Can’t fault this in any way.

Terrible
So i purchased this machine yesterday.....followed all instructions.... made 2 perfect coffees.
This morning...well not so happy. Coffee wont push through....pressure gauge went into meltdown in red zone. I flushed the lines. Tried again to no avail. Adjusted the grind to a courser setting... all good but coffee lacked flavour and crema was poor. So back I went and refined the process. Once again....the machine did the same thing.
I honestly believe this machine needs to go back to the drawing board at Delonghi headquarters.
I am returning it today and looking at a Breville.

Returned two faulty machines
So after lots of research I picked this machine. Initially it worked well but after only two weeks I woke up to water all over the kitchen counter. I discovered when I pulled out the drip tray that there was a constant drip from the unit (which wasn’t even turned on) which eventually spilled out of the tray and drained 2 litres of water everywhere. I took it back to the Good Guys and they gave me a straight replacement of a new one.
Once again it was great initially. I used it only once a day but by day 10 the descale light came on meaning I h...Read more

Failed Machine
Had the machine for 4 weeks before we got a "general alarm" warning on the machine. It's been with a repair company for the last 6 weeks without it being fixed yet. I called Delonghi and they indicated there would be no replacement and I had to wait for it to be fixed. Pretty poor customer service on top of a faulty machine.

Easy"on-the-go" (at home) coffee
Easy to use and setup machine. Efficient and super quick for your morning coffee.
I can't fault it for espresso making, as you can adjust from your dose to the yield on cup which you can adjust for your preference depending of the beans you have.
cleaning is also a plus, super easy and straight forward, perfect for your every day "on-the-go" or at-home coffee.
The only downfall is the steam function, not powerful enough. weak pressure results in not creation of microfoam, milk heated to low temperature and "bubbly" milk.

Disappointing
After much research and recommendations we decided to replace our Saeco fully automatic with this Delonghi semi automatic coffee machine. We figured not being fully automatic there would be less components that could break down.
One of the annoying things about this machine is that there is no indicator that we have been able to see that tells us when the drip tray needs emptying. After finding water all over the bench we decided to play it safe and just empty it most days. The coffee is inconsistent- we have had the machine for about a month a...Read more

Big mistake : do not buy
Thought this brand was reputable. Not entirely sure why people are reviewing this so highly, even when their machines, parts of, or in their entirety fail!
Machine is nowhere near a semi-professional quality. As an example, Frothing milk takes several cycles to get near the standard 60 + degree temp. Following the instructions, milk gets to only 30 degrees, takes several cycles, in between which the machine demands a rest to get to a suitable temp.

First "ground coffee" machine and a great start
Have been a capsule coffee drinker for years but decided this was an ideal time to try stepping up to the next level. After carefully reading a number of online reviews (and watching Youtube videos), I felt I was ready to tackle the EOFY sales and make my purchase.

The perfect coffee machine! I can't fault it!
I love this coffee machine. It takes me less than 5 minutes to make a barista style coffee everyday. It is consistent but you can also change the grind and amount yourself with the machine if you are after something different.
The coffees are always nice and hot, I steam my milk to be extra hot but not burnt and they are perfect. My partner and I cant fault this machine.

Great machine-But!
Out of the box the DeLonghi La Specialista EC9335M is a great looking machine that's pretty straight forward to set up with a couple of adjustments for the grind size of the coffee and the amount of coffee dispensed into the potrafilter to achieve desired taste.
The temperature of the brew can be dialled into your liking and the coffee produced was very nice with great crema, the steam wand heated the milk with nice tight bubbles.
The machine is now 3 weeks old and unfortunately won't work anymore.
Looking forward to a Sunday Latte it ground t...Read more

A solid machine
Bought this coffee machine about a month ago. We wanted the built in grinder as it makes it less messy. Initially we had a few hiccups with the machine as we couldn't get the bean holder to lock in properly. It couldn't read when the beans were low & would stop grinding & become loose. In the end we dismantled it & vacuumed where it is suppose to lock in. Finally we got it to lock in properly & have not looked back. Consistently good coffee & crema & ease of use makes it a great machine. Yesterday we found out we need to program it for water type so it will recognise & prompt us when descaling is required. A very cleaver machine & stylish . Very happy with purchase.

Beautiful finish, very solidly built machine.
Purchased Sunday 26th May. We bought two machines, as both ours & my Father-in-law's, aged 85 years young, gave up the ghost, after 12 years. Both were just basic Saeco Via Venezia manual models. Once you tweak & play around with the settings on the Delonghi to your required taste & strength, it is simple to use. Just follow the instructions or even better watch the How to videos. If you purchase proper fresh coffee beans from a reputable coffee shop, it will have a profound effect of the quality produced & have excellent crema. DO NOT PURCHASE...Read more
supermarket beans, you won't get the same results. It does take a while to get used to the machine, but once you keep using the machine, it becomes easier. We're just not used to pulling the lever down to tamper the ground coffee. There is a knob to turn for ground coffee, if you forget, as you can't place it back into the grinder. This machine is as good as one used in a Café, built to very high standards & finish, made from good quality stainless steel. It is a lot bigger than our Saeco, but happy to sacrifice some bench space for this stunning machine. Only disappointment is that the special price has dropped even further, to what we paid for the two machines, otherwise a great investment with a two year warranty. Since writing this review a week ago I am sad to say this lovely machine failed, both our high expectations and our expected reliability, both the machines wouldn't heat the milk to 65 degrees and would only heat to 45-50 degrees, requiring another 10 seconds of heating, the machine automatically cuts off at 60 seconds, which we shouldn't have to do! We had contacted Delonghi via email with our concerns including the fact that there was always water UNDER the collection tray, while waiting for a response, in the meantime the machine released all the water it contained in the tank, all over the bench while it was switched off, so no coffee machine now & on a long weekend! Delonghi's response was to the return machine, which we did today. It would have been nice if they had acknowledged that there is a problem and offered to find a proper solution as this looks like it maybe happening on most of this model and needs to be rectified for this machine to be a great competitor in the market, there are other reviews also stating this steaming problem! We have now decided to go with a different brand altogether, so far my father in law has decided to keep his and persevere with the steam temperature issue, which really he shouldn't have to do.3 comments

Love this coffee machine!
I upgraded my 7 year old Philips/Saeco for the DeLonghi Specialista in April. I originally had my eye on the Breville Barista Expresso until my daughter told me about this one, I did my research and I am thrilled with my decision.
It took awhile to set the perfect grind and dosage and I wasted a fair bit of coffee during this process. But once these settings were perfect, this machine now delivers a consistent top quality Barista coffee with the perfect crema. I love that by pulling a lever down, the coffee is tampered perfectly - no mess!
It is easy to use and easy to clean.
I have only had this machine a few weeks and as a fussy coffee drinker, I can safely say you won’t be disappointed if you purchase the DeLonghi Specialista.

Questions & Answers
Luke D.asked
Hi. We have had the machine for about 8 weeks and all of a sudden the milk steamer hasn't been foaming the milk and is only steaming it. We have tried cleaning everything but no luck. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Luke
1 answer
Cheryl B.DeLonghi
Hey Luke, Thanks for shouting out on this one. Is the steam wand attached properly. The rubber insert just pops on but for the metal surround to work it needs to be attached all the way up and then twist on without being able to pull it off without twisting. If this doesnt sit right the steam wont be able to get past the tiny hole that allows the milk to circulate inside the metal surround.
If you do a test without putting the jug of milk on the steam wand and just let the steam run, making sure the wand points into the drip tray so that you don't have hot steam pointing at you. This will help you see if there is a good stream of steam coming out. Its best to do this for a few seconds before and after steaming the milk. Let me know if this helps and please don't hesitate to ask more questions. Thank you
Sarah Gasked
I purchased this machine last week and have tried all levels of grind, tamping, different coffees and the pressure will not go into the optimal zone when making expresso, stops just before throughout the process. Please help.
1 answer
Cheryl B.DeLonghi
Hi Sarah, Does the coffee taste good. The optimal zone is more of a guide than a foolproof method for a perfect shot. If the coffee tastes good no need to worry about any changes. If the coffee isn't tasting so great and is pouring too fast for your liking make the dose a bit higher as this will affect the coffee pour and slow it down.
The optimal zone is reading the pressure from the push back of the water coming off the coffee grinds so the machine is still functioning with the correct pressure.
SByrnesasked
My coffee grinder has stopped grinding. Have trouble shooted....cleaned it all out and it doesnt seem to have fixed it.
Is this a common fault? My machine 3 months old
1 answer
Cheryl B.DeLonghi
HI SByrnes,
There are a couple of microswitches to check that will turn the grinder off if they are not in place. The tamp handle needs to be all the way back in resting position the dose dial needs to be off pre ground. You can also try resetting the machine after cleaning. Thats to turn the front off then the back then at the power point and leave off for one minute then turn back on exactly at the power point then the back of the machine than the front of the machine. If the top blade has not caught properly when the grinder collar was turning back around the grinder wont start so perhaps also make sure there are absolutely no grinds or beans stopping the top burr from sitting completely flush and turning around to lock in.
