Order never arrived so I cancelled new subscription

I swapped to Dinnerly after using Hello Fresh. My first order never arrived so I called customer service who told me I’d been charged but my order never went to the fulfilment centre. I even received notifications telling me my order would arrive. Pretty disappointing for a first time user so I cancelled my account and got a full refund.

I love these meals.

They're the right size, appetizing yet simple. The only thing I would like added is some basic meals for those with simple tastes. I love the exotic but some don't.

Just ok

Having come over from Hello Fresh, was quiet disappointed with Dinnerly. Some of the meals lack flavour, they're quiet simple, nothing remarkable or overly enjoyable. Price is good, but you do need to supply more items from your own cupboard. I could whip up similar recipes on my own for cheaper. Not worth it for me.

Easy way to have dinner

Yummy easy dinners that are easy to prepare, takes less time to cook dinners using Dinnerly. Cooking for 2 people, everytime we have just enough food and don’t have leftovers which is good!

No more what are we going to eat tonight!!

So far the meals we have had have been very good. Like that I don't have to think about what to cook each night. All products received seem fresh. So far so good.

Super convenient and tasty

Recipes easy to follow and delicious. Lists ingredients that are included as well as extra ingredients you need, usually just condiments. A novice like me can make a decent meal!

Convenient delivery but sometimes lacks freshness and quality

The meat quality is not great - mince beef is very fatty. Beef stir fry is not very tender. Chicken has been great so far. Although I did receive 2 large packs of chicken instead of 3 small packs of chicken in my last delivery. Vegetables for six meals don't stay fresh for 6 days in the fridge. Need to juggle between meat to use first and veggies to use first. Cooking by recipe is something I haven't done in years but my family is enjoying this. With 25% discount for first 3 orders the price is reasonable. Doubt I will be paying full price long term for what I am receiving.

Meal ideas are great, customer service is less than par

Love that I don’t have to make a decision about what to cook for dinner. I accept that sometimes the quality of ingredients are not what I would choose, and that is part of the value equation. What really lets Dinnerly down is the slow response to issues - 72+ hours to respond to missing or wrong ingedients just isn’t good enough.

Packing of boxes looks at times like it was fine by a hyperactive toddler and this impacts on the quality of the presentation.

It is handy for a family that works full time. Biggest benefit for us is not having to decide what to make.

Waste

Go to the supermarket and save yourself an absolute fortune AND get much better choice depending on your tastes for the week
Also remember that these costs DO NOT cover things such as drinks, toiletries, alcohol if you have it, or confectionary if you buy that either
All of a sudden these supposed "cheap" prices are "out the window"

Average taste, easy meals, veggies go off quickly, terrible customer service in handling complaints

The meals are very easy to make but lack any flair.
The meals arrive in a timely manner...but sometimes it looks like the box was thrown into the delivery vehicle and then thrown onto my porch at point of delivery. Veggies are often damaged in transport due to poor packing and go off rather quickly.
Customer service consists of a Philippines call centre that say sorry a lot but nothing is ever done to rectify the complaint...no follow-up has ever occurred following my contact with CS regarding delivery issues, product complaints or missing/damaged items.
As long as your expectations aren't to high you'll be ok with Dinnerly

Does not compare to other meal kits I have tried

Selected meals 4 weeks in advanced, was getting sent meals that I wasnt interested in. Meals very bland, sweet potato started rotting within a few days. Tried to contact support regarding no access to recipes, were less than helpful.

Poor quality and flavours

This was our first and last week of dinnerly. Does not compare to hello fresh in terms of quality and taste. Got a tiny sweet potato that was supposed to do two of us and the chicken thigh was the worst I’ve ever had…very sinuey and no flavour to any of the meals…AVOID

Perfect for first time out of home

The meals were great. Perfect size for both my partner and I, especially as it's both our first time out of home. I rate the meals a 5 but the only issue I found it the amount of plastic used, an alternative could be using plant based plastics and giving instructions on how to responsibly dispose of them.

They sneakily take money without your permission

So firstly, a few meals were fantastic, but a couple were bland/boring/tasteless and not good enough for leftovers or lunch so I cancelled the subscription.
I still get the emails from them and clicked on the link just to look at the Christmas meal options..decided I am happy doing my usual cooking. I did not click on anything..next thing you know they try to take money out of my account today!! Luckily I cancelled my card last week so they payment bounced! Very sneaky!! There were no emails to me saying “welcome back” or “you’ve resubscribed” (where I’d have the opportunity to cancel it!)

Dinnerly - convenient, easy, cost effective

We find Dinnerly very convenient and good value. Meals are a good portion size, with a variety of choices. We like not having to spend time thinking about what meals to cook or buying ingredients. The Dinnerly app is very easy to use - to see and select meals, and to cook. We put the iPad on the kitchen bench, see what ingredients are required and follow the recipe. Good communication about upcoming orders, including what ingredients will be provided and what ingredients we'll need (eg staples). An SMS is sent as soon as the box is delivered.

Customer service is awful

They are constantly making mistakes and never owning up to them or accepting blame. Instead they put the blame on you and don’t mend their errors. I have experience this issue multiple times.

Consistently excellent

I started Dinnerly on my daughter’s recommendation (she’s a big fan for family meals). I got about 4 deliveries then paused for a while and really missed it, so restarted. Excellent variety of meals, great ingredients, easy recipes - all combine for really interesting meals. Largish portions, more than enough for 2 (my order is for 2 portions). I’m now a big fan too!

Really impressive :D

I've been really impressed with Dinnerly. Given I wasn't a fan of Marley Spoon (too complicated and flavours strange at times/lack of fresh produce etc), I didn't hold high hopes for it's cheaper cousin.
Meals were full of flavour, great selection that caters to all tastes, the "feed a crowd" for no extra cost is a nice touch and above all - simple, quick and easy to prepare meals. Great work!

Great Value for Money

Thank you Dinnerly for making my life simple and easy. You have supplied a great product with great portion size I live on my own and quite easily get 3 meals from the 2 person packages. The price is fabulous and the best thing of all don't have to shop as often. I am not a great cook and I don't like cooking the recipes are simple and easy to follow and don't take long can have Dinner on the table easily in 30 mins from beginning to end. Thanks for a great product just keep the yummy recipes coming.

Fantastically Fresh!!!

The portion sizes are plentiful and the meal for four easily feeds the three of us with a good helping of leftovers for the next day. The best before dates on the fresh meats and fish are long enough to last the week out, no need to freeze any of them. As one other reviewer said, "Better ideas than I would come up with". Great food and great value, we love it.

Great burgers

The entire family loved the beef burgers and sweet potato fries very tasty. The meat was tender and the spices really enhanced the flavour of the meat. The buns were good quality bread

Absolute rubbish

Veggies are sub standard. foods are tasteless, just overall not value for money.

veggies look like they are second grade which might be OK if that was explained.

one meal supposedly a Moroccan dish was so bad could not eat it and threw it out.

Would like to give benefit of doubt but just cannot do it

It is good to get the kids involved in cooking.

I would like a 5 people family option. I has to supplement more food each meal. I sometimes dont have the pantry items also. It feeds the family with little complaint but sometimes they also need a toasty. 3 boys and a husband have big appetites.

Nice meals

Meals take a lot longer for me to prepare and I use a lot of equipment. Delivery of the meal box is always there at the door on the right day. Other than that they are very tasty and nutritious.

Great price with few sacrifices!

I've tried several food box subscriptions and this one is by far, the best! I'm more than willing to not have printed out recipe cards and use my own kitchen basics (eggs, flour, s&p, oil) to pay less for having high quality (grass fed beef, name brand) ingredients delivered to my door and delicious recipes which help with meal planning throughout my week. There is usually leftovers, we get 2 person meals and it's nice for one of us to have lunch the next day. I'm signed up for a box a week and have had it for several months. Twice I've had an issue where the mail didn't deliver my box and an ingredient was missing in my box. For the missing boxes, I was given a full refund. I have and would recommend this subscription box!

Great Value, Poor Service

To date I have had 6 delivery issues with no response to my emails or calls. Just a box that turns up eventually that I can't use most of the ingredients as they have been sitting in the sun all day as no one is home to bring it inside.
My delivery time is between Midnight and 7am for this reason.

The boxes are great value and this is the only reason I have stuck around. Customer service is rubbish along with the call centre staff whom lie with a time frame on redelivery if not that they tell me they will call back with an update so I can organise to be home, however Ai just get a text message to say you're box has arrived. It's midday so the hottest part of the day and no one is due home til 3pm.

Clever.

Easy, basic and tastes fine

I've been doing it for 4 weeks and had only 1 average dish - others have all been tasty. As a single person who cooks for themselves I often don't have the time or energy to cook so this is perfect. I get 6 really decent diners. Yes, its fairly basic but Its variety and not having to think about what to cook for diner, it only takes me 10-20 minutes, plus its delivered to my door AND its cheaper and easier than anything else.

Convenience doesn't compensate for bad instructions and low quality ingredients

Delivery timing: Only 2 options to choose from and couriers dont make an effort to leave in a safe place when delivering to apartment buildings
Recipe variety: Very few healthy recipes that dont result in extremely small portion sizes
Quality of ingredients: The veggies were always beautifully fresh. I found the red meats to be extremely fatty
Instructions: The instructions provided are often incorrect and/or missing details eg. oven temperatures and timing result in over-cooked or burnt food, some recipes provide no instructions on how to cut the meat
