Atrocious service
Organised my first box set the next 4 weeks to skip while I trialled the service. Had one week successfully skip, then the next box I chose to skip I was charged for an sent meals I didn't want as I did not choose. Contacted them immediately upon being charged regarding their mistake, was told I would not be refunded as the order was already placed and ingredients purchased, this was 6 days before my box was due. How is that not enough time to fix their mistake?

The worst meal box I’ve had
Rotten lettuce and green tomatoes with limp carrots. Not quite my idea of a nice dinner. This was 2 days after delivery so u would assume it would last since there is actually 5 days worth of food in there. Never again. I didn’t cancel in time after the last experience and this one had to come but still didn’t blow my skirt up and per the previous 2 boxes. I posted here because if I ring and complain I’ll just be offered a discount on my next box which I will never be getting.

Terrible communication, missing delivery
The first time I used delivery, they didn't delivery. Nothing happened. I emailed them and got an automated reply that said they will respond with 3 days. 3 days later I got an automated email which said they will respond within 2 more days. I also got a request to review their food.
I emailed again, to get the same automated reply. I went on their Facebook page and tried to contact them. An automated response told me to try their chat function. I tried their chat function, and after getting through the automated response, I got to a real perso...Read more

Disappointing
Dinnerly boasts about being "Australia's most affordable home dinner kit" and in all honesty, they're not lying. Dinnerly whilst affordable comes with some serious downsides. We have generally avoided meal kits, but because of the COVID-19 pandemic and being unable to get basic ingredients from the store like mince and vegetables, out of desperation we opted for trialling meal kit services.
Our first meal was the parmesan meatloaf and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We were looking forward to the other night's meals, the tacos especially. Sadly, the...Read more
meatloaf was the only highlight. Quality-wise, the ingredients are not high quality. I guess they save money by giving you fatty 3-star mince and salad/vegetables not of the best quality either. If you look at the attached photo of the Ranchero Tacos, you'll see what I mean. They were inedible because they were so oily. Our two young children are not picky eaters and they love tacos, but even our children didn't eat them. We ended up binning them and going and getting McDonald's for dinner instead, something we've been avoiding by cooking at home to avoid unnecessary travel and contact. Wasting all of that food knowing some people in parts of the world would give anything to have something like that, it made us feel absolutely terrible. The other meals felt like they were lacking in some way. Fortunately, the tacos were the only meal that we couldn't eat. The halloumi curry we had on the last day tasted like a mild chilli and not like a curry at all. Meals just lacked flavours and the required pantry staples are things no other meal kits ask you to provide like tomato sauce (they love their tomato sauce), dijon mustard, garlic and so on. I contacted Dinnerly and they said they would pass on my feedback to the culinary team. It seems this company at every step of the way is trying to find someone else or something to scapegoat instead of trying to make things right. Maybe we just got a bad box, who knows? Paying to throw the dice and give them another go seems expensive given the current economic climate.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Very average service.
You need a lot more ingredients than in the box, no recepie cards included, vegetables were either too raw or too ripe.
Taste isn’t very impressive either. Not value for money..
I preferred hello fresh despite being slightly expensive, better quality and the box had everything apart from basics like salt and oil.
Disappointed

At the heart of it, Dinnerly provides a much more simple approach to the meal-kit realm. Our recipes are simpler using only 6 key ingredients, where other companies can be a bit more intricate and sometimes use up to 12 ingredients. One of our core values is around reducing waste, we do this in a number of ways. Firstly not printing the recipe cards out, they are only available through our website or app. We do ask our customers to have a few more key pantry items, and we don't package recipes into individual bags and overall use less packaging, to reduce waste. We regard feedback from our customers very highly, so do ask you to make sure you rate the recipes you chose and provide extra feedback through that channel too. It goes straight to our culinary team so they know what's going on. If you have any further feedback to provide, please let us know by emailing [email protected]. Thanks Dinnerly _______________________Well I disagree with the 6 ingredient approach coz in the end one of my meals had 8 ingredients and needed another 6 from my pantry. d to get rid of the cucumbers coz they were too gooey. With regards to waste, you could use recycled paper and give it as an option for clients to receive. This suits my family and we are loving our meals.
Have been using dinnerly for several months now and we are loving it. Good portion sized meals and always delivered between the set hours.
Some meals are great to prepare the night before which suits me being a working single mother.

Rotten food
Today I received actual rotten food. There was a bag of I'm guessing kale or leaves that is now sludge... It stinks so badly that surely the person packing it would have noticed? Or are these not as fresh as we are promised??? It has leaked all through this week's box. Very unhappy! Gross!

Food not delivered. No communication from company. What a joke.
Look, I actually really appreciate the service when it is operating under normal circumstances.
Having said that -
My order was supposed to arrive last Wednesday. I was following the delivery on the tracking app, and could see deliveries being made around my neighbourhood. It said mine was coming up soon, when suddenly it said the delivery had 'failed' and 'goods not received'.
It's been five days now with no delivery and not a word about it from Dinnerly.

Food not delivered 3 weeks in a row and company is incredibly difficult to contact
I signed up for Dinnerly two weeks ago. My order has not been delivered two weeks in a row. I have however paid for it. Twice. It was incredibly difficult to contact the company. No phone number is listed on their sight, the chat bot kept looping to putting a hold on my orders, and emails took nearly a week to respond. The company then stated they didn't deliver because they couldn't find my property (all 2 acres of it) and asked for geocodes and more detail. I replied with my details last week, have provided them via messenger and have sent th...Read more
em in response to texts. I have described my house in further details as requested. The issue still isn't resolved and my order still wasn't delivered. Nor was I contacted with any explanation why- again. My request to refund and cancel the unreliable service hasn't been acknowledged. I finally found a phone number via Instagram and it told me to hang up and use the chat bot. It's not only the lack of delivery that is unacceptable but the lack of communication. Each time I have had to chase it up through multiple means over days to get any information. Update: my food for the second week was delivered two days late without notice and was terrible quality. I tried to cancel the service and was told it was too late so I had to pay for a third week. It wasnt delivered. After chasing up why, I recieved an email stating it wouldnt be delivered this week due to logistical issues and was offered a credit on future orders despite notification I wished to cancel. No refund. It's now been $150 worth of groceries that weren't delivered.1 comment

Prefer Hello Fresh
My first box of Dinnerly and am very disappointed with not only the quality, but the recipes and the ‘ease of cooking’. I would much prefer to pay extra through a different company and receive proper fresh ingredients. Tried to alter my next box as the website states to do so 6 days before the next delivery. Payment was already taken out of my account so couldn’t make any changes to my next box? Not happy with the experience I have had so far. Do not recommend

Paid for dinnerly box but not received!!!!!
Was due to receive dinnerly now on Saturday morning, I have not received my order but received email and text declaring the delivery had failed - this was information provided to me but the photos supplied were not the name and details of my order they were clearly another customer in a neighbouring suburb!!
I have emailed and message the company but have had no response and it is very unprofessional to have no option in contacting them via phone. I am stressed and worried as every cent I spend on food for my family gets down to the nearest cent in this time. The courtesy of a response to resolve this would be greatly appreciated

Fraudulent transactions on my credit card by Dinnerley
We used Dinnerley a couple of times and then stopped - as other reviewers have said, they did not deliver within the specified timeframe nominated which resulted in spoiled food. I shut down my subscription.
Dinnerley have now taken unauthorised payments from my credit card and reactivated my account without my authority. Be very careful if you have stopped using them as they seem to be able to reactivate your account without your authority and then send out food that you did not order. Ensure all of your payment details are removed from your account.

Budget meal delivery service
Have been using Dinnerly for several months now. It's important to remember that this is a budget meal delivery service, therefore they use a lot less ingredients. The range is not bad however I would like to see some more healthier and vegetable centric meals. I have found that I am buying vegetables to supplement the ingredients provided as they just don't include enough. However, the pricing is reasonable, you can pick your meals for the week and deliveries have always been on time.

Outsourcing Delivery is not a good choice
It was fine to start off with - did its job of saving me from shopping after work. However in the last month and a half, my deliveries were not being delivered within my specified time frame. This was during the summer months as well so the delivery driver would just leave it outside for it to bake.
Why do I pay $8.95 for delivery for my produce to bake in the sun? Their customer service was responsive the first 2 times but nothing changed.
With all the backwards and forwards for at least a month, it's clear that due to outsourcing, Dinnerl...Read more

Why do I bother specifying a time frame if it's being delivered 1-2hours prior to my arrival? Why is the driver telling me that I can either get it earlier or I'll have to wait until after my specified time frame? A friend/acquaintance convinced me to try it, and it's a no from us.
Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with it per se, and I liked that the recipes were online.

I think if you really don't know where to start with cooking it's a big winner, but you could probably find these recipes easily elsewhere.

I received my delivery last Sat and went to make the beetroot pasta and salad tonight to find that the salad leaves are slimy and the beetroot soft and withered. The ingredients should be good for the week. It's only 4 days from delivery. I also have another salad bag to use tomorrow and there is no way that one will be edible.
