Not Hot At First, Now A Little Better

published

When we first got this we thought we might never be warm, even nearly took it off and returned it. The instructions said to use the hottest setting (9) once for a few hours and then never to use it again because it could burn. We now use 9 every night before getting into bed to warm it enough - anything less is just lukewarm. Still need a blanket over the top on cold nights but it does an ok job, wouldn't buy it again.

Went bang yesterday

published

Bought on of these Easy Home electric blankets from Aldi about 6 weeks ago
Put it on yesterday and it went bang, controller now smells like burning and won't turn back on

Something has failed!

Will be taking it back this week to see what they say.

Looking back at other forums for previous ALDI blankets sold under the Lumina brand. They have recalled all of these in previous years,
it would seen they still are having the same issues with this new release under Easy Home

Edit. No hassle when I went to return. Full refund given even though I couldn't find the receipt.

Everything I need; at a great price

published

Really like this blanket
- 2 separate heating zones which means I can choose a different temperature for my feet from the body
- 9 temperature settings (up to 40 degrees)
- timer settings, from 1-9 hours. Means I can preheat the bed and ensure it doesn't overheat by staying on too long
- lower price than other brands I have tried, while having more features

Great Value, so far very good

Enjoying this electric blanket as can set how long you want it on for - 1 hour, 2 hours. Not less than 1 hour though.
I like that you can wash it. The plastic box I hardly notice - mostly when getting into bed. Have had it about month now.

Great value for money and working well

published

This electric blanket goes under the fitted sheet on our kind size bed. It has dual controls and each control has separate temperature settings and a top and bottom only mode as well as the whole side. I like warm feet but my torso is fine. My wife likes it pumped up a bit. So we are both happy. It seems to be very good quality and the price was $49.95.

Great value, works brilliantly

published

My neighbour has owned one for 2 years without fault. I purchased one this week after my $45 Kmart blanket failed within 3 weeks of purchase. For $10 more the Aldi blanket looks to be a higher quality fleece and material. Led backlit controller, 9 heat settings with individual zoning for body and feet on both sides of the bed.
Very happy with this product.

Could have been electrocuted

Queen fitted electric blanket working one night then not the next. When we investigated we saw that the cord had burnt through near the switch and the sheet had a tine burn mark.

BLEW UP!

published

last night as i switched it to low, it blew up with a loud bang, and all the lights went out followed by a bad electrical burning smell, found out it was the subject of a recall, shop at aldi every week, never saw a notice saying the recall extended to every blanket they ever sold....never again, glad i wasnt electrocuted!

Good product at a cheap price

Great cheap electric blanket, would buy again.
No problems, have used it for 4 winters.
Cheap, dual controls, fitted, warms nicely.

The control electric connection base is located on the top close to where your shoulder may rest, but I've had no issues.

Would be perfect if it was machine washable!

Expected less for the money (paid $40 for Queen), but was pleasantly surprised. 3 heat settings. Beautiful and warm. Bought from aldi. Wish it came in a double for my sons bed.
Cheap and works a treat.

I bought 3 for my kids (not from Aldi) and 0/3 worked. On hottest setting wasn't even slightly warm. Cheap but useless! Returning them now.
