ETE5407SA, ETE5407SB (Stainless Steel)First it froze everything, then failed to cool
Purchased the fridge new from appliances Online Dec 2022. After 1 month working without issues, I then found the eggs and everything in the crisper drawer frozen solid. I set the fridge temp to 7 deg (which is highest it will go) based on advice over the phone from Electrolux rep, made no difference, everything remained frozen. A technician came out from Electrolux, who found the baffle frozen open with a thick layer of ice coating it, meaning it was constantly letting freezer air into the fridge. He replaced the baffle with a new one under war...Read more
ranty. Fridge worked again for another month, then this time has failed to cool in the fridge compartment. All food spoiled again which is super annoying, and a waste of my money. I'm fairly confident the baffle has iced up in the closed position this time, so no cold air can get into the fridge. It's Sun, so I'll call and log a another job tomorrow. As far as I can tell this is more than just a one-off faulty component. The other reviews I saw on here indicate it's a common fault, which is really disappointing in a fridge that costs this much. Based on this, I definitely wouldn't recommend getting this fridge.

Love it. Mostly good with a serious irritation and a couple of niggles.
I bought this fridge to go with the huge mortgage we'd taken on when we bought our first new house. Lovely fridge with one seriously horrible feature and a couple of niggles. On the plus side, it's big, beautiful and, after being rather noisy the first few days, now settled down and reasonably quiet. It does its job very well. Perhaps a little too well since, I'm guessing to earn its 5 star energy rating, it seals tighter than a fish's rear end at 50 fathoms. Meaning it's a bit of a gym workout to open the door. My wife and young boy really str...Read more
uggle. They hate the thing. It gets worse when opening the main compartment just after the freezer door has been opened then closed. Doing that causes the air inside to cool and contract to the point that the main cabinet's effectively vacuum sealed. It takes such a wrench to open it then that the fridge gets pulled along the kitchen floor tiles. It's a little battle we have every day. Two more niggles: 1. Rather than opening and closing in single smooth actions, both doors (after wrenching to break the vacuum seal) open smoothly for a small distance, encounter resistance, then continue smoothly again. Same when closing. So you can't just gently swipe the doors closed as you can with most other fridges. Do that and each door will remain open a bit before the closing position. Not what I'd call a "seamless" design, and quite different to every other fridge I've used. Not certain I like having to consciously concentrate on this job each time I go to close the fridge door! 2. There's some kind of filter in each compartment that's supposed to filter out bad smells or whatever. Trouble is, if you take either off to check them out, it doesn't easily clip back into position. The manual's useless with this, offering no explanation about how to successfully replace each when done. I probably spent 20 minutes trying to re-clip the one in the lower compartment after the fridge was delivered, and completely failed. So now I have a broken odour eater doohad sitting on a shelf at the back of the bottom compartment. Again, not what I'd call a well thought out design. Delivery: Appliances Online did a fantastic job with answering sales queries and keeping us apprised of delivery time. Very impressed. Not so impressed with the associated installation. The rather personable delivery driver and his helper wheeled the unit into position, attached the compartment handles and took off as quickly as they could. Ok, time is money, I get it. But they'd screwed the handles onto the positioning labels, meaning I had to remove the handles, remove the sticky labels under each, then rescrew the handles back again -- a pointless waste of time that risked burring the tiny grub screws since by the time all was done they'd been tightened, removed, then tightened again. Also, I wouldn't count on these guys to set up the shelves and trays etc inside the fridge -- mine didn't, despite my hopes, and were off like a shot. All up, a rather attractive piece of equipment. It keeps things cold, the auto defrost seems to work, the freezer ice tray works too, and with more than enough space for our needs. Recommended? Yes, but with a few design and operating caveats.Purchased in January 2021 at Appliances Online for $1,629.00.

So many issues
We bought this fridge on the 12th of April 2022 from Harvey Norman for $1,814 which included a 3 year warranty, and have had a variety of issues with it. The doors only shut with some considerable force and on some occasions the vacuum in the fridge is so strong some minutes later, short of using a crow bar you have Buckley's of opening them. Opening the doors at other times often results in the handles coming off in your hand. Eggs freeze in the egg compartment on the door though the temperature control shows 4 degrees. It is random and not r...Read more
elated to how full the fridge is. A service technician corrected the problem for a time on the 25th July 2022, by replacing a part- from that time on the panel accessing this part couldn't be re-attached. On Thursday 15th of October 2 monitors were placed in the fridge for 3 days to record the temperature we were told the temperature range was normal although the eggs still freeze periodically! The fridge is also noisy- sounds like rhythmic whirring and running water, for a time after you shut the door. I do realise this is normal for this fridge. Not a great feature though. I was not offered a reward by anyone nor am I participating in a give away or fishing for a 'reward'. I am disappointed that this fridge does not match the performance of other fridges I have owned- Just stating the facts!Purchased in April 2021 at Harvey Norman for $1,599.00.

Great Fridge until it stopped cooling
After months of research I settled on the Electrolux ETE5407SA due to its energy efficiency and design. The layout and design of the fridge, spaciousness, the LED lights in fridge and freezer are fantastic. We also noticed though more louder than usual noises from this fridge which I have to say was quite annoying at times, however after 7 months the Fridge stopped cooling and we lost everything in fridge over xmas and new year. For a few months the fridge was dropping and raising temperatures for unknown reasons and at one stage froze goods in...Read more
fridge. Electrolux techician come out 3 times and noted that that model was renoun for the flaws in temperature and noises. I wish Electrolux address this issue and research these ongoing faults not only from me but it might of been a bad batch of parts, who knows. Its a real shame this Fridge let us down as I loved it intially but due to the noises and flactuations of temperature had us return it and move onto a other family brand.Purchased in April 2021.

Great fridge, we are happy
Purchased from Appliances Online and we have been very happy with purchase so far. So had it for 5 weeks so far and running as it should. No problems keeping everything cold during Brisbane summer. Plenty of space in doors and freezer. Hopefully none of the issues that others have mentioned pop up.

Spacious but keeps frosting
Got this fridge from Harvey norman springvale on 20th may 2018, it was good until 6 weeks and then started making strange noises later and found that it was frosting inside the fridge compartment and fresh zone. Technician came and said compressor has failed, we called help desk again and they said it needs to be taken to workshop for repair and I disagreed. So after few calls they agreed to replace the fridge which arrived in a months time on 29th of Aug 2018. After two weeks replacement fridge had same frosting problem again, technician came ...Read more
and found that all drains were clogged with ice and due to which frosting, he fixed the problem and said it could be one off and will never return, however in two weeks it started frosting again, we are now fed up with this fridge. We logged call again and technician will visit tomorrow, so far my 400$ worth of vegetables have been spoiled because of this frosting problem, dont know who will compensate for that, on top of it so much inconveniences caused, every time we call helpdesk its waiting for almost 30 min.3 comments

Good
I'm very much happy with the Electrolux 540 litre 5-star freshplus freezer fridge thus far though I've only had it for a couple weeks.
Hopefully other people who have had it longer can verify. I haven't experienced any whining sound, I might hear a low hum but I think that's normal or maybe other noises in the house cover it :)
Pretty sure it's quieter than my last fridge anyway.

Electrolux's service center is terrible
This fridge lasted about a month before the baffle failed (the part that directs air between the freezer and fridge compartments) - this means it now freezes the fridge and struggles to keep the freezer cold. It should be replaced under warranty but it took nearly a week to get through to Electrolux with constant calls, a few days more to get on to an independent service center (we're rural) and it looks like it's going to take them well over week to claw the replacement part out of Electrolux. In the mean time we've taped up every air outlet i...Read more
n the fridge to try and manually baffle it (with advice from the independent warranty service center of course) and have to check the temperature of both compartments a few times a day to keep it half reasonable. We purchased this fridge primarily for its power rating as we're off grid. The fan makes a lot of noise though and runs most of the day, which will be a disappointment for anyone switching from a quiet fridge. The fan seems to use 3-4 watts, the compressor 30-80 watts and the defrost cycle around 230 watts. It has a very noisy fan and trying to deal with Electrolux's service department is horrible - asside from those two I would have rated it 5 stars, but they really need to sort out their warranty service.Similar opinion?
