Hi Natasha, Vittoria pods may not necessarily be compatible. The machine takes Espressotoria pods

You are definitely using the wrong pods. Vittoria is the brand of coffee they use, but you must buy the Espressotoria System coffee pods. Yes, this is confusing when you are looking at them on the supermarket shelf because the packets and terminology is similar, but I gather Vittoria seem to have their own machine which is different.

Which pods do you use for the CAPINO machine?

You must use Espressortoria System pods. No other brand is compatable. Do not use the packs that just say Vittoria; it must say Espressotoria System.

You need to press firmly until you hear it "click" when it pierces the pod

Why does pressing the tab for the larger cup of coffee only give about 100 ml of coffee? My machine is pretty new and since the 1st pod, it’s only pumped that. I have to press twice to get the amount of coffee I want and sometimes it tastes weak. I do rinse it each day.

Thats what the machine is set to. Large cup button dispenses 100ml and small cup button dispenses 30ml shot. Refer to the manual on how to program the amount of water you want

Hi, my espressotoria machine is relative new but when i use it & lift to empty the pod there is an awful lot of water in the 'catch' bin so to speak. Is this normal?

Jamie T.

No its not normal.
It means the pods arent peircing properly so the water trying to run through the pod is running down into the dispenser instead.
Same issue as mine.
I bought a caffitaly machine instead.
They have always been better.
Up to you but I suggest returning it.
Its a common problem for those models.

I place a pod in the machine and it falls down to the bottom? There seems to be a part missing that should hold it in place?

Tinus G.

Tinus G.asked

I have exactly the same issue that David reported 4 months ago and have removed the perforating disk. It clearly is the problem om not piercing the genuine pods deep enough. Can someone from please confirm whether these discs are separately available as it would be such a waste to put the machine in landfill just becuase of a plastic disc the size of a 10 cent piece. Come on Espressotoria, do you bit for the environment!

How did you remove the disc?

Tinus G.
Tinus G.

Well, I did it the hard way by dismantling almost the whole machine, just to realize (once you can see the disc) that it has one hex screw inside the little spring that sits inside the pod chamber that you can actually remove with an Allen key bit no 2 with some effort whilst the lever is open.

Why is the coffee ending up where the pods get dispensed, rather than my coffee cup? Many people have asked the same question and rather than give an answer, you ask if the pods are correct. Now before you ask me the same question, yes, I am using the correct pods. Now what should I do? I have paid for this machine and for the pods that go with it. Not sure why I have to use half a box of pods for one coffee. That’s a rip off.

No not noisy at all. If you are intending to purchase the milk frother then the new design is very quiet but my original one was very noisy.

Is this a new design espresitoria coffee machine. I have one that is square where the cups go. Looking at purchasing one for our caravan. Also does the capsules that are suitable for Nespresso work in this machine. Unfortunately they don't in my older machine.

I brought it at Coles last year. I'm not sure if nespresso pods fit sorry have only used the recommended ones

I'm not sure regarding the design of the coffee machine. I was referring to the milk frother, I had two of them which failed and when I had them replaced by Woolworths I was pleasantly surprised that the design had changed in many ways. A big improvement.

Regarding the pods, to my knowledge it is not possible to use any others apart from their own Espressotoria

Hi, my machine is only about 6 months old and just recently it has started dripping the coffee into the pod tray instead of out into my cup. When I clean the machine and run water through without a pod it comes out clean into my cup so there doesn’t seem to be a blockage. I’ve already wasted about 5 pods testing the machine and really don’t want to keep wasting coffee. I hope the machine isn’t broken because I’ve got about 6 boxes of new unopened pods in the pantry

If you have the receipt maybe try taking it back and swapping for another one. Maybe a fault in the system or something.

You can program the amount of water for either of the two coffee dispensing buttons:
• Press for 3 seconds (the button to be programmed) until it has a blue colour and flashing rapidly.
• Once the desired amount of water is reached, press the button again.

Why does our Espressotoria put coffee granules in the cup? Sometimes it is so bad that the coffee goes down the drain! The machine is cleaned regularly, water tank full, pod holder is emptied often, etc etc. Hope someone can help or we are getting a new machine, different brand!

I have the above coffee machine, im on my second on since august last year, the first one started leaking at the left hand side near the used pod holder, so I bought a new one about 2 months ago and it also does this infrequently regardless as to whether there is a pod still in portal or if it is empty. my biggest problem atm is that the long pour has reset itself and is now short than the short black button.

Hi Amy - thanks for the question. Can you please confirm you are using the Espressotoria capsules and not the Nespresso compatible capsules which are individually wrapped?

Sorry to share your post Amy, My machine has just started to do same thing. It pierces bottom of pod, it's top of pod with problem. Yes I'm using genuine Vittoria pods. Pods are not individually wrapped. Also lately I've had 3 or 4 pods crack open. Pods are stored in container provided by Vittoria. Was part of promotion the the time. Sometimes it's not dispensing full amount of coffee, which is a waste, it's a watered down coffee. Disgusting yuk.
