My machine seems to be working perfectly fine. Bought it yesterday. My coffee is very weak though. Even doing a double shot i.e 1 single pour followed immediately by another??

I find that I get a good cup of coffee by using 3 capsules and pressing the full cup button each time.

Hi, my understanding is if you do a second pour with same pod it'll water it down more. Also which capsules are you using? I'm don't drink strong coffee however my other likes strong coffee. He uses Cafe aurora espresso. 1 pour of cup on right.Capsule is black with white band across the middle. Box looks the same. I'd recommend checking their website. If no luck there contact them. They'll recommend which one is strongest. A phone call is probably your better option if you can. Easier to ask all questions at once.

Hi I recently purchased Capino machine to replace my 3 yr old Capino. I now know it's the plastic piece that Pierce's bottom of the capsule. Frustrating though As this was the only thing wrong with my machine. My old machine came with a milk frother which to be honest it's useless. Luke warm, more froth than actual milk came out. Now I use button on left, fill up rest of cup with milk, give it a stir and into microwave. Whilst it's not a cappucino milk is lovely and hot, not all froth.

What capsules does this machine take other than what it shows on the box

That's pretty much it. It is a Vittoria specific machine. Nespresso pods are too small and fall through.

Many questions about the disc not piercing the pods properly and causing the water to leak into the waste pod tray. But I see the espressotoria people never address this common problem. Best resolution is to throw this crap machine out and buy a better one.

I have recently bought the same machine again as I was experiencing this issue. I put this down to age of my machine. It was 3 years old, used several times daily. We looked at buying a different machine. Decided to stay with what we knew.

Haven't had my machine all that long., So far no problem with piercing and leakage. John Quirk

Nothing but problems with the pods not piercing properly, leaking below to the point where my benchtop gets covered with wasted coffee leaking from the quickly filling pod bin.

I also recently bought several boxes of Italian Blend. Seems the significant proportion of them are defective, splitting open and leaking 90% of the coffee into the bin. Looking at getting the Aldi machine. Their pods cost less and have much better reviews.

If your machine is the Capino Espressotoria system and you are sure you have the right capsules then the unit is faulty and should be returned. JQ

You have the wrong pods. It has to be the pods that are the same brand, not nespresso, not vittoria, but the espressotoria ones.

I have many coffee machines. Which pods are compatible with Capino? Apart from Victoria.

I have found the only compatible pods are for the espressotoria system. Don't be fooled by pods sold in packaging that looks like it is Vittoria coffee. They did not suit my machine.

Thanks, I have been fooled once. Not again.

I have not used my machine for several months and now find that I can not get anything to flow through.
Tried flushing etc. several times, and every thing sounds good but there is no water coming out at all.
Could it be blocked and if so, is it possible to clean out. Descaling would not work as there does not seem to be any water flow at all

Sorry Barry, I haven't had anything like that. I suppose you have checked the inlet valve in the bottom of the water reservoir. Also look up into the spout where the coffee comes out to see if any insects have nested in there. Good Luck

Hi Barry if you cannot find your answer here or on google my suggestion would be to take it back into your local Aldi store, the machine has a 2 year warranty and in my experience Aldi have been very understanding and proactive when handling returns or exchanges :)
PS please do not try to pull apart your machine to fix it as this may void any warranty.
Hope this helps, Good luck Barry!

Perhaps descaling.

I’ve had 3 of these machines since January. Each time the coffee starts to empty into the pod dispenser. I have only ever used the correct pods I have followed the instructions and cleaned it regularly. What the hell is going on? I just want a coffee!!!

Wow that doesn’t sound good!!! I’ve had my machine since 2015 and it only started doing this recently. I put it down to its age. I’d take it back for a refund and maybe look at getting a different type. Perhaps the newer models have been manufactured differently to the older versions. I heard that the Aldi pod machine is very similar to the espressotoria. The pods aren’t as expensive either so it’s definitely more cost effective in the long term.

I have only used my machine 3 times. Now when I put in the pod the lid no longer wants to close. How do I fix this?

Try operating it without the coffee pod and see what happens. The lid should close and the water should just flow through. Make sure you are using the right pods for an espressotoria machine as other pods won’t fit. If all else fails take the machine back as it sounds faulty.

Stacey W.

Yes the water will run without a pod in it. But it will not close on a pod.

I forgot to water in my machine and now it's making a grumbling noise.
Can anything be done or is the machine now inoperable?

I’ve operated the machine before and ran out of water half way through a cup. It does make a terrible sound when this happens! I just filled it up and the sound went away. The machine operated as normal and there was no obvious damage to the machine.

Mine is quick to flush water but slowly spluttering coffee, sometimes none at all. Have done the system cleans. Is it time to chuck it? I think it's about 18 months old and not my main source as I use stove stop mostly.

Mine does the same thing! I have to fish the pod out of the tray and put it in 3-4 times to get a serving of coffee. All the water is ending up in the tray and making a mess. I got mine in 2016 and I’m thinking it’s about time to get a new one. Perhaps a different brand though as I’d like a change of coffee.

Pixi

I replaced mine few weeks ago. Machine was 3 years old. Used several times a day. Admittedly not cleaned and flushed as regularly as recommended. I started having issues with Italian blend capsules not piercing. Was driving me nuts. Other capsule flavours were working fine. New machine = happy user once again
Cons:More flavours-Nero capsule? It's lovely, where do I buy it please.

Do you have refillable pods for the Espressottoria Capino ?

2 answers
Audrey76
Audrey76

The pods are not refillable (I.e you can’t put more coffee into them and use them again and again). They are made of plastic. One coffee pod per serving. Once used they go in the bin. As per my post when the machine was new the coffee dispersed properly, I now have to fish the pod out of the tray and put it in multiple times for it to work before throwing it out. I guess because my machine is a few years old the coffee doesn’t come out properly. The water going through ends up in the tray instead of going through the pod into my cup. Hope this answers your question!

Dee
Dee

Yes I realised the current ones were not refillable, but wondered if you were considering making refillable pods in the future or out of aluminum which is recylable. Your pods are not available where I live and shipping on and off remote islands like the one I reside on is very difficult

Same here, once I add milk it isn't hot and I like hot coffee. I just zap it in the microwave for 30 seconds and it is OK. Shouldn't have too but that's the only thing I can do to make the coffee hot.

Hi,
We have recently purchased a new Espressotoria machine after our old one broke. The new machine has flashed a purple light a few times, this happens when we are pouring a coffee and the machine has only partly poured the coffee before a purple light starts flashing on the full pour button.
We’ve looked in the manual but unable to find anything on this issue.
