Good kettle but flakes of metal in the water
As other rveiewers have found, this nice practical kettle after some time becomes "grimy" on the base inside. Wipe your finger inside and it comes away black supposedly with metail. Now granted, we have boiled it dry once or twice which has presumably done the damage. But now its in the bin and we'll buy a different brand as a replacement.

Only ok
I'm a fan of traditional kettles and thought the Esteele stainless steel kettle was worth a try as Essteele generally make quality cookware.
We've had it for around a month now. It looks great and boils much faster than our old kettle. However by the time it reaches boiling point the handle is too hot to hold without using a cloth. The spout also feels like it should be a bit longer for ease of pouring. So while the kettle does its job, these design flaws are annoying given that I use the kettle so often. I would have expected a bit better for the money.

Loved this Kettle until I found metal in my water
I have been using this Kettle for about 2 years and really like that it heats up quicker than a electric kettle. But I am alarmed, I only drink tea and have been unwell for a few days and I am wondering if it is the amount of metal that is so fine that i noticed in the water. I filled up a jar to sterilize it when i saw all this fine metal. I am unsure how long this has been going on. Such a shame as they are expensive and I did enjoy. I am researching whether to throw out or see if i can clean it out.

Ours Works Well
We're on to our second one of these, both stainless steel finish.
The first lasted years and we'd probably still be using it if not for a couple of lapses on my part. The first, I dropped it which resulted in the whistle not working properly. The second, I boiled it dry, (melting the rubber grommets at each end of the handle) because I forgot the whistle wasn't working properly.
Anyway, we were happy with the first so just bought another.
Our second one was an improvement on the first as it had rubber built into the handle for extra ...Read more
protection from heat in the handle. The rubber grommets were suppose to prevent heat from transferring to the handle but they were pretty much ineffective; that's why I dropped our first one. The rubber in the handle on the new model (pictured) helps but not totally so you need to be aware how you grip the handle.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

At least 6 years old and still perfect
I bought this kettle from an independent kitchen shop which has since closed down. My kettle has been perfect, I was surprised to read the negative reviews. I love this kettle and was hoping to buy another to put aside before it is discontinued. This has been the best kettle I've ever owned, it is loud but I prefer that so I can hear it outside, and yes the handle does heat up but I use a cloth. I have never had a problem with the whistle or any pealing, I do agree that these should have been replaced. It isn't worth the negative reviews, and because of this, I don't think I'll be purchasing another. I'll just enjoy mine for as long as it lasts.

Questions & Answers
Mary Anne R.asked
I have been using a Estelle whistling kettle 1.9 lt C50303KR for approx 6yrs. On an induction cooktop. It now appears to have rust spots on the inside base.
Can I have this replaced as the kettle has a life time warranty.
Looking forward to your reply ASAP
Thanks kindly Mary Anne

Had the same experience with my kettle after a few years. Eventually had it replaced by Essteele after protracted discussions. Pursue it with the manufacturer & replace it with a kettle with a stainless steel interior. These kettles are prone to rusting unless you wipe them out after every use as recommended! Who in the hell would follow this recommendation? Life's too short for such rubbish, good luck
Thanks I’ve just contacted essteele hope it all goes smooth. They are asking for pics. Hoping for a quick resolution without negativity
