Pricey and poorly designed
Buying the Esteele on line, so not actually handling it before purchase, is something I very much regret. A fancy kettle at a fancy price, but the handle gets hot and the steam rises across your hand on some angles as you tilt it to pour. I find it heavy, even without the water. Relative to its size, the maximum water level means that it does not boil nearly as much water as you anticipate on first seeing it. The whistle shrieks like a banshee, which is good if you are in the habit of boiling a kettle dry, but too piercing if you are nearby. It...Read more
certainly ensures you hurry to turn off the heat. We bought this nearly five years ago and were so disappointed we went back to using our scruffy el cheapo. The Essteele came out again a couple of weeks ago when el cheapo finally died, and I am reminded again why I don't rate this kettle - hence the belated review.Purchased in July 2021 at Kitchenware Direct for A$89.95.

It is really a joke! Poor quality, waste of time and money
I am really surprised that Meyer Cookware Australia doesn’t even know what is stainless steel, because they stated in the email, which I received after complaining about rust inside a stovetop kettle, that “Stainless steel is susceptible to rust as rust is a result of metal being exposed to water”.
I purchased a Stainless Steel Stovetop Kettle using Flybuys points, so it was posted to my address. Unfortunately, it had visible scratches and dents inside and I contacted Flybuys immediately. They advised to contact Meyer Cookware directly. I fil...Read more
led out a form on their website and was promptly contacted by their customer service representative. It was a nice conversation and after a quick assessment I was offered a replacement. I was also told to dispose the damaged kettle as they didn’t need it to be returned. The replacement arrived later in July and it looked ok, so I didn’t expect any problems. However, the new kettle started to rust within two months, which clearly demonstrated that the material was not stainless steel but an unknown alloy. I contacted Meyer Cookware again and asked if I can send them back both kettles (as I still have the first unused damaged kettle sitting in my storage cage) and get a refund, because I clearly don’t need another poor quality kettle. However, their response was absolutely unbelievable. As I mentioned already, their “stainless still” is officially susceptible to rust (please see a screenshot from my inbox attached). Those “experts” have also expressed their doubts about the fact that the kettle is actually rusting (it is hard to make good photos inside the kettle due to limited light, so please check the photos that I provided to them). Their claim that the problem may be related to water quality is a bit of a joke, because it doesn’t look like any mineral deposits. I am also using a glass electric kettle with a metal heating plate from another brand and it doesn’t have any calcium deposits or rust even after a year of continuous usage, so the Essteele Stainless Steel Stovetop Kettle is clearly a poor quality item. I don’t expect to be refunded because Flybuys just says that I have to talk to Meyer and Meyer says that they cannot refund my Flybuys points. What a waste of time and cash, even in a form of reward points.Purchased in June 2021.

Had kettle for about two years. Bottom inside is rusty & contaminating the water.
Kettle looks great in red colour but spout is a bad pourer design. A rusty bottom after a couple of years indicates poor quality build. Would not recommend this product due to poor durability!
Purchased in September 2021 at David Jones Retail Stores for A$110.00.

Love my kettle
Love it! 2 years old now, very slight rusting appeared around a part of the the inside seam on the spout. Quick response from Essteele saying they would replace however I was busy and didn't follow through. The rust hasn't increased since then and it's very enjoyable to use. Lovely whistle, not too shrill but audible. Easy to clean being SS.

Good kettle but flakes of metal in the water
As other rveiewers have found, this nice practical kettle after some time becomes "grimy" on the base inside. Wipe your finger inside and it comes away black supposedly with metail. Now granted, we have boiled it dry once or twice which has presumably done the damage. But now its in the bin and we'll buy a different brand as a replacement.

Excellent Stainless Steel Kettle
I was tired of replacing electric kettles as they seem to have such a short life, so purchased the stainless steel Essteele kettle to use on the stovetop. Couldn't be happier. I have an induction cooktop and it boils water just as fast as an electric kettle. The shiny exterior has an easy to polish finish, it whistles when reaches boiling point or you can leave the "whistle" up and keep on low temperature for immediate use anytime. Have had no issues with the kettle at all, handles never overheats and silicone cover on lever for whistle prevent...Read more
s any issues there. Would happily recommend the stainless version to anyone. Update May 2017: I have been using this wonderful kettle daily for over 18 months now and it remains in perfect condition and works as well as the first day I used it. Highly recommend this kettle. Using it on an induction cooktop it boils much faster than a regular electric kettle and apparently uses much less power.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Only ok
I'm a fan of traditional kettles and thought the Esteele stainless steel kettle was worth a try as Essteele generally make quality cookware.
We've had it for around a month now. It looks great and boils much faster than our old kettle. However by the time it reaches boiling point the handle is too hot to hold without using a cloth. The spout also feels like it should be a bit longer for ease of pouring. So while the kettle does its job, these design flaws are annoying given that I use the kettle so often. I would have expected a bit better for the money.

Loved this Kettle until I found metal in my water
I have been using this Kettle for about 2 years and really like that it heats up quicker than a electric kettle. But I am alarmed, I only drink tea and have been unwell for a few days and I am wondering if it is the amount of metal that is so fine that i noticed in the water. I filled up a jar to sterilize it when i saw all this fine metal. I am unsure how long this has been going on. Such a shame as they are expensive and I did enjoy. I am researching whether to throw out or see if i can clean it out.

Ours Works Well
We're on to our second one of these, both stainless steel finish.
The first lasted years and we'd probably still be using it if not for a couple of lapses on my part. The first, I dropped it which resulted in the whistle not working properly. The second, I boiled it dry, (melting the rubber grommets at each end of the handle) because I forgot the whistle wasn't working properly.
Anyway, we were happy with the first so just bought another.
Our second one was an improvement on the first as it had rubber built into the handle for extra ...Read more
protection from heat in the handle. The rubber grommets were suppose to prevent heat from transferring to the handle but they were pretty much ineffective; that's why I dropped our first one. The rubber in the handle on the new model (pictured) helps but not totally so you need to be aware how you grip the handle.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Environmental vandalism by Essteele
My compound spacer/washers have melted and I too was told to buy a new kettle. It's not about the money. It's that Essteele tell you to throw out their kettle - because they're too lazy to carry spare parts. Their advice is an environmental disgrace. That stainless steel kettle will be in landfill for ever.
Essteele need to take responsibility for their end to end experience. Telling a customer to throw away a large stainless steel product because they can't be bothered to carry spare parts that are used on a daily basis in the factory,...Read more

At least 6 years old and still perfect
I bought this kettle from an independent kitchen shop which has since closed down. My kettle has been perfect, I was surprised to read the negative reviews. I love this kettle and was hoping to buy another to put aside before it is discontinued. This has been the best kettle I've ever owned, it is loud but I prefer that so I can hear it outside, and yes the handle does heat up but I use a cloth. I have never had a problem with the whistle or any pealing, I do agree that these should have been replaced. It isn't worth the negative reviews, and because of this, I don't think I'll be purchasing another. I'll just enjoy mine for as long as it lasts.

Don't buy this kettle
After using the kettle for three years I recently discovered bits of metal in my cup. When I swiped my finger over the base of the kettle my finger came out black. I have no idea how long the inner lining of the kettle has been breaking down and contaminating my tea. Really angry!!!

Be careful!
I had an orange one of these and the metal within the kettle actually started to flake off. I can't tell you how long i had been consuming tea with bits of metal in it. But i can say that it's the last thing i would expect from the most expensive kettle i've ever purchased in my natural life. You don't get any clues that it's flaking. Do not be fooled by the shiny exterior. This essteele product is not a quality product!! And the money you pay for it is actually quite unnecessary for something that simply boils water, and nothing else. Money better spent on paying the bills.
The shiny color
Expensive, metal flakes away on the inside of the kettle without you knowing it.

Don't buy
Paid $150 from Myers for this piece of junk. After about 15 month, the whistle mechanism fell apart and can not be repaired. Huge rip-off. Would not recommend this product to anyone. Do not buy this product.

Solid build, pleasant to look and use, built to last.
I have the plain s/s version and has enjoyed the product. The handle, lid and whistle assembly are built to last a lifetime (they have to as I have registered it for lifetime warranty). The base has no joint unlike the other brands which tend to leak after a few years of use. It is made of high grade s/s just like the other essteele cookware. It has given my stove top a touch of class as guests that come to our house makes positive remarks whenever they see it. It has also freed my bench top as I no longer use my electric kettle as gas stove is...Read more
cheaper to run. I look forward to my tea each morning and night. Should the unit give me any trouble as mentioned in the other reviews (faulty whistle assembly) I will take it to Meyer for repair or replacement without delay. Was on special paid $30 for it. Solid build, classy look1 comment
You got a good deal!!! I paid $55 and thought that was good too!! I have had trouble with the whistle after 3 days, but the kettle is getting replaced, so can't complain about that!!

Dont Buy Its Terrible!!!!!!!
I bought this kettle from DJ and expected a great product and great customer service....! But No to both.
Kettle whistle jammed and didn't work - apparently a common problem - and then because of this the kettle boiled dry...and Melted the kettle sub superior plastic components! Esteele / Meyer the company would not do anything about it and nor would DJ.
Bad kettle, bad company and bad retail outlet!!!!
bought it for the style, didnt relaise it was substandard
kettle whistle jams / plastic components melt / bad, non existent warranty

That's not a good recommendation, I bought one too and the whistle is playing up, but the company I purchased it from is going to replace the kettle.

Kettle
I have had my kettle for 6 months. Over this time when you opened the kettle spout with the lever, the plastic on the lever touched the lid of the kettle and because this was hot (kettle was boiled!!) the plastic melted. We are very disappointed with this product and would be looking elsewhere for our next kettle purchase.

I bought this kettle online and it worked fine for a while. After a couple of months the whistle fell apart. Sometime after that the enamel started lifting. When the whistle fell apart I tried to repair it myself but it just came apart again and again. Would not recommend this product under any circumstances

Overpriced and flawed
Saw this at DJs for $144! "Redtubed" it and picked it up online at Home Depot for $65. Even at that price it's a rip-off. It looks pretty, but sounds ugly - the whistle is piercing and horrible. My sister has a stove kettle with a lovely little whistle. This thing shrieks.
The handle also gets very hot despite the rubberised contacts. Take care.

Mary Anne R.asked
I have been using a Estelle whistling kettle 1.9 lt C50303KR for approx 6yrs. On an induction cooktop. It now appears to have rust spots on the inside base.
Can I have this replaced as the kettle has a life time warranty.
Looking forward to your reply ASAP
Thanks kindly Mary Anne

Had the same experience with my kettle after a few years. Eventually had it replaced by Essteele after protracted discussions. Pursue it with the manufacturer & replace it with a kettle with a stainless steel interior. These kettles are prone to rusting unless you wipe them out after every use as recommended! Who in the hell would follow this recommendation? Life's too short for such rubbish, good luck
Thanks I’ve just contacted essteele hope it all goes smooth. They are asking for pics. Hoping for a quick resolution without negativity
Dianne C.asked
Could there be faulty manufacturing? - the whistle fell apart within a few months. This makes the kettle a fire risk.
1 answer
Get in touch with Essteele the manufacturer & request a replacement. It will still be under guarantee. Their kettles are real rubbish & rust out on the inside unless(wait for it) you dry out the inside after every use as recommended. Better still get another brand with a stainless steel interior!

How can we get our kettle replaced? The whistle mechanism fell apart after only 3 1/2mths
