ActiveSmart E522BRX (Stainless Steel, Right Door)

Hi,
I bought this fridge about 3 years ago. I have been very pleased with it ever since.
An alarm would sound to remind you that the door hasn't been properly shut but recently, as soon as you open the top door of the fridge it begins to beep continuously until you touch the active smart button inside the fridge or until you shut the door. This is abnormal. How can I correct this?
Regards

Does this model have a limiting pin to stop the door opening wide and limiting door opening to 90 degrees? Thanks If not can I purchase one that will be compatible.

No.
Fridge doors usually need to be opened wider than 90 to allow the shelves to be removed.

The refrigerator light is on all the time. Where is the switch that is supposed to turn off the light when the door closes?

There isnt one. There is a door sensor behind the panel at the bottom of the fridge. You need to replace the sensor. Just dont cut much off the wire as its not designed to be replaced... if this is stuffed, then there is a wire at the back of the fridge to cut to permanely kill the light and sensor. Get it fixed by fnp under warranty, tell them you arent paying for the tech either if its over two years old as this is a known fridge bug... and the sensor on my parents westinghouse fridge still works 20 years on....

I've had this Fisher & Paykal (Model No. E522B) for a few years. After having had a good experience with a previous fridge/freezer and washing machine from the same company, decided to replace the old one with the E522B model. It makes this loud cracking noise at times, which scares the hell out of everyone, especially the visitors who don't know the source of the noise, and its unpredictability! This has been going on virtually since I bought it, and initially thought it might be a balance-related issue, so followed the instructions on how to balance the fridge properly etc., to no avail. Now it's become really annoying! If anyone has experienced a similar problem and found the solution? I would appreciate sharing it with me.

I have not experienced the loud cracking noise, however this model is very loud. It produces a lot of noise and unfortunately I have just had to learn to deal with it. I guess it is hard to tell when checking the fridge out in the shop, but for my next fridge I will certainly be doing some noise testing.

In the end I bought a spirit level (small size in the shape of a triangle which contains two windows perpendicular to each other) and put that on one of the shelves inside the fridge. It showed that although the fridge was level side to side, front part was considerably higher than the back side! So I undid the two leg-screws underneath the front equally till the spirit level showed the fridge had become level in that direction also, and that was it! Voila - problem is fixed ever since :).

I have the same issue. Ice forms on the bottom of the freezer floor. I have removed all the ice and then it comes back again. So I removed the bottom basket from the freezer for the moment and am waiting 2 weeks for a technician. Did you find an answer to the problem?

Our E522b fridge keeps beeping constantly when the doors are shut. When we press the buttons in the back of the fridge it stops momentarily, but then starts again within a minute. Any ideas?

Hi our fridge is 5 years old, and we have an intermittent problem that lasts a few days then goes away for a couple of weeks, but then returns.
We open either fridge or freezer door, and it starts beeping like a reversing truck while the tepm lights glash red. Everything is cold enough and the temp lights are still set as per normal and have not been changed.
Any thoughts please?

Fridge is only 3 3/4 years old (4 years in June) and just noticed there are several large opening up cracks in the top back left hand side of this fridge. It has only ever been cleaned with warm soapy water. Is this a manufacture fault (perhaps it has hairline cracks in it's plastic internal shell i never knew about) and it is now opening up over time? Is this something others have experienced?

I've also noticed things at back of fridge are now freezing/freezer type burn and the motor has gotten very noisy and making 'cracking' type sounds when it switches on at night. What is this? Is this also a manufacture fault?

The extended warranty is via the Good Guys (giving me a further 3 years making it 5 years coverage) and states it includes "wear and tear". Do all three issues regarded as 'wear and tear'?

The extended warranty person hubby spoke with stated the cracks are a manufacture fault.

It is very difficult to make an accurate diagnosis of the specific cause without the benefit of inspecting your appliance.

If you would like to arrange a technician to attend to your refrigerator, you can call our 24-hour Customer Care Centre on 1300 650 590 and a Customer Representative will assist you with service in your area.

Alternatively, you can search for service in your area by using our online locator at the following link: http://www.fisherpaykel.com/au/support/service-appliances#request-a-service

If there is a Fisher & Paykel technician in your area, a form will be generated which you can complete to submit a service request using our online booking facility. Otherwise, the locator will provide you with the contact details for the Authorised Service Centre(s) near your area.

I have contacted the Good guys and via the Fisher and Paykel Rep, organised a technician to call out to view and discuss the faults with this fridge, on the 13/4/2016. The Rep did say to me that the internal caing of the fridge can be replaced, but i really don't know if i want to agree with this, due to the issue being a 'major fault' with the fridge. I will be back to detail what happens from here-on-in. The 'Horizon" 3 year extended warrantee i was sold has been useless. Thank you for your reply.
