Perfect for my first home!
For starters it fits perfectly into the space and would easily cater for a small family (admittedly I'm only using it for myself but even then it always looks empty with my food in it). Great temperature control in the fridge and freezer drawer. The compartments inside are practical and outside design looks appealing. It's not a loud fridge at all. Very happy with this purchase!

Smart and stylish
I love how the fridge looks in my kitchen, it fills the fridge cavity well and matches al the other stainless steel appliances. The fridge works well and we had no issues. In the very beginning when we first got it I was very surprised at the noise that it made, however, once it settled, everything is running smooth and the fridge is quiet. There is also lots of space in the fridge for anything.

Fisher & Paykel Active Smart 519L Door Draw
This unit replaced a Whirlpool Side by Side which was a very poorly designed and operating unit.
The F&P unit not only performs much better, but it is obvious consideration has gone into the design.
Temperature is evenly distributed in the fridge compartment with no icing up. The crisper draw is easy to open and keeps fruit and vegetables fresh with no drying out. I have checked both fridge and freezer with a temp gauge and the readings were as consistent with the settings.
The freezer draw is easy to open and has a smaller upper tray and d...Read more

It's a simple, basic fridge
We upgraded our fridge now that our second son is on solids and we needed more freezer space. There's nothing fancy about this fridge but it's quiet, keeps everything evenly cold and there's really nothing I can fault about it. Perfect size for a family of four and enough space for a bottle of wine or two!

A fanatstic and well priced model.
The temperature is steady and can be easily adjusted to suit both the upper and lower compartments.
The unit is quiet and easy to clean, I have a TV close by and do need to turn up the volume to compensate, it also has ample space to store items. Due to its design cleaning is very easy.

Wish I Never Bought It.
The fridge does maintain good temperature in all compartments. Is quiet, although the freezer compartment is not that easy to clean. The freezer is difficult to see what you have. I'm only sorry I didn't buy the one with the freezer on top, or at least the door at the bottom. Personally I like the 2 door fridge freezer unfortunately the space was not sufficient at the time of purchase.

Noisy & ice no longer works!
We purchased this fridge in August 2013 and was replaced twice due to dents in the fridge. Started out ok however after a while the fridge became really noisey! The ice also no longer works. Very disappointed in this fridge given the amount of money we spent purchasing this fridge!

Perfect fit for us - good value and high quality
For a family of 4 it is a good size fridge. The Ice and water are well worth the extra - the ice produced 8 cubes every 4 hours or so and no input required. It is pretty quiet and good spaces, seems to work effectively. The soft close takes a bit of tweaking and door tends to shut either too fast or not - but overall not a big issue. Very happy and not much in this size and measurement which is really what restricted our choice.

Will Never Buy Fisher & Paykel Again
I have had two Fisher & Paykel fridges in under two years. The first had a part that needed to be replaced under warranty, which took 6 months, 8 technician visits, 5 incorrect parts delivered, and Fair Trading involvement before it was finally replaced with a new fridge by Harvey Norman. After 6 months, the new fridge started beeping incessantly and stopped cooling. Fisher & Paykel sent a technician out who told us the that the fridge was not functioning, the compressor was loose, and that gas was leaking out.

ct us to arrange the fridge to be picked up after the technician visit, despite being told we would be given a replacement fridge while the other was assessed. When I called through to the technical support line days later they told me there was nothing they could do and refused to put me through to a manager. The customer service team also did not respond to repeated emails asking for updates. My two toddlers, husband, and I were ultimately left without a fridge for over two weeks, wasting hundreds of dollars in spoiled food and eating out. Fisher & Paykel initially offered a food loss claim and then retracted the offer, saying that their technicians found nothing wrong with the fridge (despite the initial technician's comments and the 3rd party technician, who picked up the faulty fridge, commenting that it sounded empty of gas). They also ignored my requests to see the technical report. Thankfully, Harvey Norman replaced the fridge; however, I wish it hadn't been replaced with another Fisher & Paykel fridge. The refrigerators have been unreliable and the customer service is terrible. I will never buy anything from Fisher & Paykel again.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Super happy!
I was deciding between Fisher & Paykel RF522WDRX4 and the Panasonic Inverter. The sales consultant said I would be crazy to go with any other than F&P. I was nearly sold on the Panasonic but was a bit wary of the strange noises due to the inverter. So happy I went with the F&P. It is super quiet and the quality is amazing. The other fridges all felt cheap and plasticy, but this one is solid and very well built. I was worried about fingerprints showing but it is a non issue. I was worried about noise as my fridge is out in the living area of an apartment, but it is silent almost all of the time. Only downsides would be that the freezer is a bit small and it didn't come with egg trays (Harvey Norman threw some in for me from another fridge).

Great size with plenty of space
It's only early days but so far I am very happy with this fridge/freezer unit.
The information that I researched didn't rate this unit as the most energy efficient but my power bill is due soon so I'll update the review if the quarterly bill is elevated more than usual.
The fridge is very quiet and I cannot hear the motor at all from other rooms.
Any fingerprints on the stainless steel is easily removed.
Control unit easily located inside the door. Functions easy to adjust on the panel.
My only negative thought is that the capacity of the bottom located, slide out freezer unit is on the small side. For me to have gone to a larger unit would have meant purchasing a much larger capacity fridge area which I didn't require.

Love the fridge, love the support
Having decided to go for a new fridge, and choosing a bottom freezer style fridge to suit our ageing requirements not to bend down as much, we went for the F&P after seeing many very good reviews. We attended our local Harvey Norman store to check this fridge out compared to the competition and for what we could get in our space requirements, there didn't seem anything that compared in quality. The only thing we were concerned about at time of purchase was freezer size.
Well, when the fridge arrived, the first thing I spotted was a small den...Read more
t on the door. The delivery people were very apologetic (although I don't think it was from them as the packaging wasn't marked) and they advised us the F&P would be in contact to replace the door. Not even 20 minutes later, we had a call from a F&P representative saying they had been advised of our circumstances and could they arrange a date and time to suit so they could fit a new door. Now that is service. On top of that, this fridge is fantastic. I have a fridge thermometer that I tested on every shelf and the temperature consistency is just amazing. As for the freezer space, whilst it may have looked smaller than our old fridge's freezer, it definitely holds more and is easier to access all the item as there is no longer anything hidden at the back. If you are considering buying this model fridge, my wife and I highly recommend it. Product quality, temperature consistency and amazing support service from F&P. Freezer draw is slightly noisy to open and close but not enough to drop rating to 4 star...Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Bought June 2015 so of course warranty runs out & something goes wrong. The LED light has stopped working for no reason . Guy told me today $165 callout fee to look at it and hopefully fix it. He said he’s never heard of this problem. Anyone else heard of this problem please?
