Not Happy
Seems like the 2012 and 2013 models were the dud ones. Mine is under 5 years old and already the powerboard/ motherboard has died and apparently costs $300 for a new one plus labour fee;s on top of that. Might as well buy a new washing machine. Expected it to last at least 10 years. Will go back to the trusty Simpson washers, at least I can get 15 to 20 years out of one of them. Will never buy Fisher and Paykel again.

Cheap and Nasty.....
Pros: Favourite feature is the simple electronic control panel with a great range of wash options.
Cons: Hot Water Hose Split after 2 years
Agitator Fins broke just on 3 years
Had Simpson Machine prior to this machine for 22 Years.
Will never go Fisher and Paykel again.
Parts all seem cheap and nasty.
Very disappointed, luckily its been discontinued.

Clearly discontinued for a reason - Poor quality control
Pros: Favourite feature is the simple electronic control panel with good range of wash options.
Cons: Agitator is cheap and nasty with flexing bottom fins that break off after limited amount of use.
Machine used in our holiday home that only gets used six months of the year mainly on weekends, so has had very limited use at all when it comes to washing. Usually washing of towels or sheets. After four years the agitator fins have already broken off. Completely flimsy and clearly did not go through any rigorous testing or quality control proces...Read more
s by F&P. Big disappointment and reason enough for me to look at another brand rather, so I will exclude everything from Haier Group which is the parent company that owns F&P along with a number of other brands. Maybe go for Bosch or Whirlpool brand instead.

Rubbish
We've had a Fisher and Paykel laundry for about 12 years. Our first washer died after about 9 years. This one died after 2 years and 11 months. The warranty is 2 years. F&P told me to arrange a service call ($142) and then when the technician has had a look at it they MAY offer to assist with the cost of repair. The part broken seems to be the computer control panel. A $300 part, or more? Add that to $142 after less than 3 years its a VERY poor and EXPENSIVE product to purchase. It seems that F&P is a lottery. Some are good, others are bad. We don't buy into lotteries and if you do take care.

agitator fin broken, 2 others cracked
Have had machine for past 4 years.....previously owned F & P but bigger electronic machine. Love Fisher & Paykel but am so disappointed that after minimal use ..2 person household that one agitator fin has broken and the other two are cracked. Can supply photos. Clearly from other reviews this has happened to others. What to do? Maybe need to contact ACCC for their advice? surely a great brand F & P should replace...clearly not doing the job....

Machine stopped working under 4 years
So disappointed with my washing machine having only used it for 3 years and 11 months from brand new. Reading online reviews, it should have lasted more than 5 years so quite disappointed that it hasn't lasted longer. Prior to the machine dying, some unknown force started controlling it causing it to dance around the laundry floor even with only a few towels in the machine. Note, the towels were well balanced in the machine so shouldn't have a cause to be bouncing around.

Tangles clothes and agitator fins broke off
This machine has always tangled clothes badly and now the agitator fins have broken after 4 years. Looks like it is due to the constant flexing. We mainly use it on the water smart setting which is likely to increase wear and tear on the fins, but if that is the cause, then it is surely a design fault. Based on other reviews we are not sure if it is worth replacing the agitator or buying a new machine. we are unlikely to buy another F&P.

Crap washing machine. Will. Never ever buy F&P again!
Yes I agree i hate my fisher and Paykel washing machine. Will never ever buy FP anything again. It leaves lint all over clothes. I flush my machine with hot water and finish dish washing powder every 2-3 washes and the lint is still a big problem! F &P is absolute crap!

Love it!
After reading reviews on this page I decided to go for the WashSmart.
I've now had my machine for seven months and have found it very quiet, unlike two Simpson's I've had that make a loud bang as they go into the next cycle, and then gives 5 beeps when the wash has finished.
I had read that some people found spin cycles in their machines were sometimes too fast and damaged their clothes.. Armed with this information I noticed that my "Normal" wash was set with a super-fast spin cycle. With the press of a couple of buttons I easily re-...Read more
programmed it to always use medium - which can easily be altered for one wash, without changing permanently if I choose. It even has a custom button, so I can program my own choices, such as: water temp, spin speed, etc. It also has pause and soak timings. Haven't found a down side to this machine.Similar opinion? Never had a problem with this machine ( touch wood)
I have found over the 3 years I have had and used almost daily, absolutely no problems with this machine.
It does what its meant to do. Its cleans and rinses clothes. Have not noticed any wearing-out of clothes and am presently looking to buy another for another house we are furnishing.

Facts on F&P washers
All F&P washing machines are covered with a 2 year warranty, including agitator.
The lint filter is the whole bowl itself - water, with lint, flows down through the base and comes in via the outside of the bowl.
Any lint is trapped outside the holes on the side of the bowl ( a huge lint filter).
During a spin cycle the water going through the side of the bowl picks up the lint and flushes it out the drain.
If towels have lint or are crunchy and stiff then too much detergent is being used.
Take a towel with lint and do another rinse and c...Read more

Agitator fins broken
We have had this machine not quite 4 years and the agitator fins have broken off and one of them has split in half. The split fin is ruining lots of clothes and pulling threads on the towels etc. I didn't realise it was a design fault until my motherinlaw, who has exactly the same machine, said that her agitator fins had broken too. Her machine is only 12 months old.

Very poor product
I have had a few Fisher and Paykel Washers of the last 20+ years and this one is the worst of the all. I am up to my second agitator in 2 years, the fins on the first one broke after just 9 months and fisher and paykel refused to warrant the replacement of the agitator stating it was 'General wear and tear', I had to fork out over $80 for a replacement one from fisher and paykel and now 18 months later I am having to replace it yet again as the fins have snapped off. I use the Auto-water fill option on the machine for all clothes, but adjust ...Read more
the water level for towels, sheets, etc. Doona's and such I take to the laundromat for washing. I have spoken to fisher and paykel and their customer service is terrible, putting the blame back onto the user. Though I have looked up common faults for the machine and the defective fins top the list. Am never purchasing another fisher and paykel appliance again after this one, they have lost my loyalty to their products after the very poor customer service and misleading information.Similar opinion? Using 250l Of Water!
Since installing this brand new washer, our water bill went to an average of 750L a day, double the Brisbane average. We went around checking taps, then started monitoring daily. Seems like its this thing sucking the water. Adding a $800 a year to the water bill, not worth it.

No lint filter is a problem
Overall our new machine washes OK. It is not loud, and is easy to set the programs. The main issue we have is with towels - particularly new ones. The need to be rewashed as the lint appears on the pile of the towels. I guess it saves them money not having a lint filter, but it reduces the effectiveness of the wash. Also, as we are on a septic tank, the extra lint will be clogging up our grease trap rather than being able to be taken out and thrown away separately.

Stopped Working After 2 Years
Stopped working after 2 years of purchase. Paid an extra $89 to get my warranty extended to 5. When I told them I paid an extra $89 which is clearly shown on the receipt, they still refused to fix, replace or refund it. I do not recommend buying Fisher & Paykel and I certainly would never buy again.

Terrible Product. Appalling Customer Service.
When our front loader stopped working we chose to go to a top loader. Boy did I regret it - certainly when we chose this model anyway.
It ripped linen and clothes from the start and left piling on quite a few tops, including new ones. There is clearly a design fault with the plastic fins inside as clothes were caught underneath the almost every time.
A dreadful unit backed up by evasive and delaying tactics employed by their support team.
We ended up getting our old one fixed and Harvey Norman were very gracious to give us a refund ...Read more
as Fisher and Paykel flatly refused. Clearly F&P are delusional and think their own products are amazing and can't see any faults with them which I find pathetic. Stick to fridges guys. You make those really well.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Rubbish !!!!! Dont buy it
This washing machine is a disgrace... I now officially hate Fisher and Paykel... bought an F & P fridge years ago, it was replaced twice because it was faulty, gave up in the end after 2 years and tossed it out... Thought we would give F & P a go with the washing machine, don't know why?
What a load of rubbish, noisy, takes FOREVER to fill with water, makes dark stains on your clothes, chews away at your clothes... beeps all the time blinking hot water when I only ever select COLD water... beeps due to imbalance, never is... you can't walk away from this piece of crap and expect your washing to be done when you get back!!! Seriously DO NOT buy it, save your money and buy a Kleenmaid or Westinghouse... never again Fisher and Paykel...

Hi, I have a Wash Smart 7kg washing machine (Model: WA70T60GW1) which has worked fine for some time however it now won't progress to the Rinse cycle. I have tried all the recommended fixes to no avail. I am continually getting three lights when it stops, the middle light on the wash cycle (light 3 of 5), the first light of the Rinse Cycle (from Left) and the Spin Cycle light (only one). Does anyone know what it means?
