Not Happy

published

Seems like the 2012 and 2013 models were the dud ones. Mine is under 5 years old and already the powerboard/ motherboard has died and apparently costs $300 for a new one plus labour fee;s on top of that. Might as well buy a new washing machine. Expected it to last at least 10 years. Will go back to the trusty Simpson washers, at least I can get 15 to 20 years out of one of them. Will never buy Fisher and Paykel again.

Cheap and Nasty.....

published

Pros: Favourite feature is the simple electronic control panel with a great range of wash options.
Cons: Hot Water Hose Split after 2 years
Agitator Fins broke just on 3 years
Had Simpson Machine prior to this machine for 22 Years.
Will never go Fisher and Paykel again.
Parts all seem cheap and nasty.
Very disappointed, luckily its been discontinued.

Rubbish

published

We've had a Fisher and Paykel laundry for about 12 years. Our first washer died after about 9 years. This one died after 2 years and 11 months. The warranty is 2 years. F&P told me to arrange a service call ($142) and then when the technician has had a look at it they MAY offer to assist with the cost of repair. The part broken seems to be the computer control panel. A $300 part, or more? Add that to $142 after less than 3 years its a VERY poor and EXPENSIVE product to purchase. It seems that F&P is a lottery. Some are good, others are bad. We don't buy into lotteries and if you do take care.

agitator fin broken, 2 others cracked

published

Have had machine for past 4 years.....previously owned F & P but bigger electronic machine. Love Fisher & Paykel but am so disappointed that after minimal use ..2 person household that one agitator fin has broken and the other two are cracked. Can supply photos. Clearly from other reviews this has happened to others. What to do? Maybe need to contact ACCC for their advice? surely a great brand F & P should replace...clearly not doing the job....

Machine stopped working under 4 years

published

So disappointed with my washing machine having only used it for 3 years and 11 months from brand new. Reading online reviews, it should have lasted more than 5 years so quite disappointed that it hasn't lasted longer. Prior to the machine dying, some unknown force started controlling it causing it to dance around the laundry floor even with only a few towels in the machine. Note, the towels were well balanced in the machine so shouldn't have a cause to be bouncing around.

Tangles clothes and agitator fins broke off

published

This machine has always tangled clothes badly and now the agitator fins have broken after 4 years. Looks like it is due to the constant flexing. We mainly use it on the water smart setting which is likely to increase wear and tear on the fins, but if that is the cause, then it is surely a design fault. Based on other reviews we are not sure if it is worth replacing the agitator or buying a new machine. we are unlikely to buy another F&P.

Crap washing machine. Will. Never ever buy F&P again!

published

Yes I agree i hate my fisher and Paykel washing machine. Will never ever buy FP anything again. It leaves lint all over clothes. I flush my machine with hot water and finish dish washing powder every 2-3 washes and the lint is still a big problem! F &P is absolute crap!

Never had a problem with this machine ( touch wood)

published

I have found over the 3 years I have had and used almost daily, absolutely no problems with this machine.
It does what its meant to do. Its cleans and rinses clothes. Have not noticed any wearing-out of clothes and am presently looking to buy another for another house we are furnishing.

Agitator fins broken

published

We have had this machine not quite 4 years and the agitator fins have broken off and one of them has split in half. The split fin is ruining lots of clothes and pulling threads on the towels etc. I didn't realise it was a design fault until my motherinlaw, who has exactly the same machine, said that her agitator fins had broken too. Her machine is only 12 months old.

Using 250l Of Water!

published

Since installing this brand new washer, our water bill went to an average of 750L a day, double the Brisbane average. We went around checking taps, then started monitoring daily. Seems like its this thing sucking the water. Adding a $800 a year to the water bill, not worth it.

No lint filter is a problem

published

Overall our new machine washes OK. It is not loud, and is easy to set the programs. The main issue we have is with towels - particularly new ones. The need to be rewashed as the lint appears on the pile of the towels. I guess it saves them money not having a lint filter, but it reduces the effectiveness of the wash. Also, as we are on a septic tank, the extra lint will be clogging up our grease trap rather than being able to be taken out and thrown away separately.

Stopped Working After 2 Years

published

Stopped working after 2 years of purchase. Paid an extra $89 to get my warranty extended to 5. When I told them I paid an extra $89 which is clearly shown on the receipt, they still refused to fix, replace or refund it. I do not recommend buying Fisher & Paykel and I certainly would never buy again.

Please contact your extended warranty provider to have a service call scheduled. This extended warranty has been purchased from the retailers extended warranty company, not Fisher and Paykel.

That's beside the point....a washing machine should last more than 2 years

Rubbish !!!!! Dont buy it

published

This washing machine is a disgrace... I now officially hate Fisher and Paykel... bought an F & P fridge years ago, it was replaced twice because it was faulty, gave up in the end after 2 years and tossed it out... Thought we would give F & P a go with the washing machine, don't know why?

What a load of rubbish, noisy, takes FOREVER to fill with water, makes dark stains on your clothes, chews away at your clothes... beeps all the time blinking hot water when I only ever select COLD water... beeps due to imbalance, never is... you can't walk away from this piece of crap and expect your washing to be done when you get back!!! Seriously DO NOT buy it, save your money and buy a Kleenmaid or Westinghouse... never again Fisher and Paykel...

WashSmart WA70T60GW1 (7kg)

Hi, I have a Wash Smart 7kg washing machine (Model: WA70T60GW1) which has worked fine for some time however it now won't progress to the Rinse cycle. I have tried all the recommended fixes to no avail. I am continually getting three lights when it stops, the middle light on the wash cycle (light 3 of 5), the first light of the Rinse Cycle (from Left) and the Spin Cycle light (only one). Does anyone know what it means?

Does anyone know how many litres of water it takes to fill a full load in a 7kg washer? I know it takes approx 86 litres to do a full cycle but I just want to know how many litres are in the bowl.
