Try undoing the top cover and lift it up gently and check to see the springs that go from the drum to the side walls haven't come undone.

My washing machine lets cold water run in as long as the cold tap is on, no matter whether it is on or off. The hot tap comes on and off correctly with the wash cycle as required, but the cold water just runs into the machine constantly if the tap is on. Any ideas what could be wrong?

Is the water still running into the machine with the power off at the wall?
If it is then it would be most likely your valve/coil.
If the water stops when the machine is off and only starts when the machine is started it could be the level control that is the issue - could try different level setting or taking it off auto.

WA89T65GW1 water is running continuously and bowl is not filling.
I don't believe it is an installation problem as it has been operating for 3 years in it's current location.
What else will cause "siphoning"?
Cheers.

Sorry Ida but I haven't had that particular problem, thank goodness. Good luck.

To prevent syphoning:
The drain hose should not extend more than
20 mm from the end of the guide.
The height of the standpipe or tub should be
between 850 – 1200 mm.

Does anyone have a problem with water leaking from the hoses connected to the tap, especially the hot water. I have replaced to washer, but that didn't stop it. Could the hose connection be faulty?

Hi - yes I had a problem with the hot water tap. I just tightened - then over-tightened the connector with a wrench. Not very scientific - but it stopped the leak. I couldn't see any obvious problem with the connector, but something was amiss. Hope this works for you.

Hi Yes, I had a problem with leaking hoses on the the Fisher & Paykel 7.0 kg WashSmart Machine I purchased last week. They worked for 8 washes then the Hotwater hose gave out and started leaking around where the metal joined to the soft hose. The machine managed to flood my bedroom carpet which now has to be replaced making it the MOST EXPENSIVE washing machine I have ever purchased. My previous machine had never leaked in 20 years of owning it and 13 years of living in the same apartment. I went to Bunnings and purchased a Boston Hose systems with a leak alarm on it. The couplings are much more robust the the F&P and work wonderfully.
Make sure that you connect the threads perfectly - they should run easily and not be an effort to connect and don't overtighten.

leesy
leesy

Thank you both for your answers. I was going to ring F&P to get them to fix it, but they will probably put the same type of hoses on, so I'm off to Bunnings. Thanks again for your help.

New washing machine leaking water from under LHS of machine. Does not matter how large or small the load is. Have had all the hoses and clamps checked, all good, can not find the leak?
Also unbalances very easily.

I have no leaks so far and am still totally happy with my machine. Sometimes it gets unbalanced but that's to be expected. It's usually if there are towels or sheets that have moved around so I simply jiggle stuff around then it continues on its merry way. Still loving my machine!

If pumping out water slowly or not at all when its try to spin but will wash. I always pull the drain pump out, coins boby-pins, fluff in the pump section, 2 big screws hold it in and 2 screws hold the pump cover on you might have to siphon the water out first from the bowl cheers..

C_155
C_155

On a regular cycle- goes through green lights then to rinse water comes out 2 orange lights on. Rinse continues 2 orange lights on no water comes out but machine still going. Then moves to spin, 1 rinse light stays on plus spin lights on then machine starts beeping. There is water still in machine, but not a lot.

What should I do?

My washing has not been coming out clean, I do regular maintenance washes and use liquid detergent. On further inspection I find that all 3 agitator fins have a split through them has anyone had this issue.? I had a service technician come out recently because the machine kept stopping and he said it wasn't recognising the water level.
The machine is working now but the water level seems too low and clothes come out soiled. My machine is 2yrs old.

yours is a common problem, we tell everyone do a hot wash with your towels no soap no crap softener just hot water
..fins only break for one reason only from over loading ..

Exactly which problem is common? I do not use fabric softener, and of course the machine will feel like its over loaded if its not filling with enough water its on auto isn't the machine meant to sense the size of the load?

Howdy - you might have accidentally gotten water on it or something like that / my advice is to get the shop where you bought it from to send a technician in or if it's out of warranty look for honest and trustworthy shop / it could be a simple fault that is probably worth fixing apposed to buying another brand new washing machine though my thoughts it's probably the timer / probably your best option is to contact the shop where you bought it from and contact the shop they get to do their repairs

I am considering purchasing this model - is there any reason I shouldn’t? I have spoken with Customer Service who have described the self cleaning lint system and the hotwater only clean cycle once a week. It kinda all makes sense too me along with the fact I will have manufactures warranty etc - but any feedback would be appreciated Thanks.

As with any product, regular maintenance stuff should always be done, otherwise soap scum may build up especially when doing cold water washes. I highly recommend this product because a) the agitator means a better clean (but just make sure ur delicates such as bras and lingerie are in lingerie bags), b) I don't get the lint problem at all unlike with my Samsung, c) auto level works great and saves water d) I can easily add in items while it's in wash cycle without it beeping and stopping unlike with other brands. With all big appliances I have, I've always taken out extra product warranty, such as the Harvey Norman one, which replaces the machine is something goes wrong with it, and I've got piece of mind knowing that I'm covered for 5 years. Good luck!

Planetbyron, Thanks for your response I have taken on board your comments - appreciate them - I agree with regular maintenance wholeheartedly - I am pleased to hear you don’t get the lint problem, coz that seems to be a common thread of complaint - if I may ask how long have you had your machine...

I would recommend the fisher and paykel the 6.5 kilo or the 7.5 kilo model as they wash the clothes better though if you have already bought the fisher and paykel 10 kilogram version then so be it as well

Wouldn't your washer still be covered by the manufacturer's warranty?

cindz

Not for blockages in the pump, I fixed it myself just emptied the water in the tank, tilted it backward and removed the pump on the bottom and pulled out the lint which was stuck and preventing it from going around and spinning .Now works perfectly.

You don't have to remove the pump just pull the hose of which is attached to the pump, then you can see whats in there i just put my fingers in and pulled out the lint.. MAKE SURE THE POWER IS OFF!!!!!!!!!!

I really don't have an answer as i still get lint. I have been told that there is a lint filter you can get that goes inside the agitator. I wouldn't buy it I would ask Fisher & Paykel if they can send you one. I don't have a filter yet so am not sure if they really work. I have got a lint brush which I use after every was which is really annoying. Sorry I could not be more helpful.

Don Webby
Don Webby

Hi Mollydog I think F&P have certainly got problems with these machines but they really don't want to admit it. Yes contact their customer service centre and ask for a lint filter to be sent out for free. Don't let them tell you that it's the way you wash your clothes that causes this problem and that a technician can call at your expense. The lint filter helps 80% but having to take it out and clean after each wash is really a band aid to the problem. I to use only cold water washes on auto water settings so their really shouldn't be any lint on cloths considering it uses 80ltrs per wash. My other issue is it always leaves fabric softener on clothes that I then have to rewashed. Any one else got this issue.

RickO
RickO

Yes, I too had a minor lint problem. F&P sent me a lint filter - works great and I have 2 short hair little dogs. I always use Warm/Cold settings (and shorter wash cycles) - Used Cold only when I first got it but never again - useless IMO. Fabric conditioners don't mix well in cold water. I can throw in 8 or more white or light coloured bath towels/sheets in one hit and sometimes use the QuickWash option (can't use fabric conditioner with this option) and in the next wash throw Blacks in and don't have a lint problem,
Never had my machine go out of balance, even with my sons work over-alls - but then I have only used fast spin and couple of times and found the Medium spin setting works just as well and the clothes dry on the line just as quick and stay straight, requiring little or no ironing.
I don't own a Clothes Dryer either - they just heat and beat your clothes to death, break up the fibres causing lint problems in the next wash. If you can find a way to remove tissues in the same wash cycle - patent it - you could make millions. My tissue problem ended when my daughter moved out. haha.
