Washing machine fills up right to the top what ever you select. The selector function correctly when selecting the amount of load but still fills to the top.

Hi I've had this washer for about 8years since new. I've just moved house and now it won't spin dry. I've tried draining it I've cleaned the pipes out pulled out the tub cleaned it I've pulled the pump out and cleaned it and removed plenty of old Bobby pins etc. The pump will drain the water out. It goes to spin (starts slow then stops) and the error noise rings. What could be the issue?

Hi,
Look at which lights flash when the error noise occurs. Different combinations of lights flash for different errors so you can diagnose the problem that way.
Should be able to find what problem is indicated by your combination of flashing lights by doing a quick Google search. Should be a key in the manual or on their website. (We found out that way.)
Good luck

Everytime I wash in my top loader, all the lint gathers around bottom of machine and sticks over my washed clothes. I have to always use the dryer to remove lint? Any help or suggestions please.

You might need to pay them to remove the lint from the pump or something else inside could be clogged causing it to come up into the barrel but they wont do it for free even under warranty because they will blame you for the lint issue even though it says self cleaning, does it not? Look at your booklet. If it is a manufacturers issue you will not have to pay. I'm pretty sure it IS their issue as I've never had this priblem with any other machine so it must be the make of it. I washed a light summer doona once. If the little tag says I can, I shouldn't have to worry. So frustrating. Awful customer service. Try calling, though. Also, they might send out a complimentary lint thingie. Run a hot wash through it without clothes in, maybe add vinegar, that should help slightly. Its supposed to be 'self cleaning' but it bloody isnt believe me. The lint collector only does so much. Its $148 or more depending on the issue. Good luck

Hi all, need to know if the ""cream rubber like hose """attached to the larger water inlet (within the machine) was meant to have a clasp around the neck? We purchased this machine new and is nor second hand, and now found out to why there has always been a slightly wet floor. When unscrewing and opening machine up to expose the water inlet we find this to be the problem.

The machine smells strongly very much like stale grey water.
Would this be the lint filter or the exhaust hose?
If the latter, how do you disconnect it and can it be cleaned by backwashing say with a hose?

We have had our controller board replaced and now when we turn on we get single second beeps with the last wash and spin light steady on. Research shows we need to reset controller board for machine. We have the 8kg machine and previous comments show how to reset for up to 7kg machine. How do we reset for 8kg? Thanks.

How much will it cost to repair machine. The problem we are experiencing. Doesn't allow to load not many clothes anymore. Makes loud noises during rinse/spin cycle followed the by stopping and beeping noise. We re-adjust the load around but then does the same thing and its taking up to 2 to 3 hours to wash 1 load due to this constantly reoccuring.

Machine is filling and washing. Won't empty or spin. Does it have a reset button?

Hi, there is not reset function and it is most likely you have a pump blockage. The machine senses that it has not been able to expel the water within an allotted time and will stop at that point and beep. I'd suggest you call a service person. This is a fairly common problem throughout the whole Fisher and Paykel range, but a simple fix

Did you plug a light or something into the power point to see if it worked?
If power point works, then controller failed.

I was told by Product Review that I would receive a Coles $20 gift voucher after completing 4 reviews and they ripped me off -no voucher. I complained and they ignored me.

Hi, I have just bought a 2nd hand machine and just noticed one of the fins on the agitator is snapped off. Seller is ignoring my requests to sort. Is it worth replacing the agitator or will this just happen again?

2 answers
Trevor B
Trevor B

The fins would break off if the machine was repeatedly overloaded and the fins were under too much load. They are meant to swish the water and clothes, not drag the clothes. Better off replacing the agitator which is easy and you should be fine. Most F&P agitators last for the life of the machine, unless abused.

Thanks Trevor, appreciate you answering!
In doing a bit of research, it appears to be a common problem with this model. As I mentioned, it was already broken when I bought it unfortunately, so have cut my losses and bought a new machine. Cheers

Is that the full size version or the little stumpy one for that model? Full size one can be ordered online from Fisher and Paykel and prices are competitive. The stumpy one does not show up in the parts listing. Failing that, I have a spare.
