Washing Machines Buying Guide
Our buying guide will explain which type of washing machine would suit you most, how much you can expect to pay for one, and which features are worth looking out for.
Garbage
From day one the machine rattled around like a 10 year old machine and yes transit bolts were removed and it was leveled, within 6 weeks the door seal split and Fisher & Paykel wouldn't honor warranty then at just over a year into owning it the control board blew up and now the machine is going to the dump while we still owe money on it.
Thanks fisher and pykel for selling me complete and utter garbage with a worthless warranty
Purchased in December 2021.

Overpriced & Underperforming
I wish I had bought something cheaper because this is definitely NOT worth the money. The store got this in specially for me because if it did what it was supposed to do I would have been very happy. It claims to be water efficient but it isn't. You have to rinse everything again because the machine doesn't do it. I have double checked it by doing a load without soap. All the stuff that didn't rinse out before can be seen via the suds in the window & what comes out of the hose. Not what you want to have to worry about it in a drought when all ...Read more
you have is tank water. The wash cycles are way too long & you can't save time doing a quick wash because of the need to rinse again. The dry cycle is very inefficient & also takes a long time to do it's job. I absolutely would not recommend this machine to anyone. For the price you can do a lot better buying 2 separate machines. I was excited to get this because my previous Fisher Paykel washer lasted 12 years & was a good product. Sadly, this one is not..Purchased in October 2021 for $1,524.00.

Hard on clothes but handy to wash dry all at once
Shirts and tees come out with pilling, very rough on clothes. This is using everyday wash. Currently experimenting with delicate cycle. Dryer finishes but clothes still damp so have to run drier a second time. Handy to put clothes in and come back and they are dry (well almost dry!). About 3 hours to wash and dry is usual on everyday.

The worst product I ever bought
I bought this machine bc I was interested in a more compact solution than 2 seperate machines... DONT DO IT!
The wash cycle takes 8.5 kg dry of clothes then the dry cycle (which you can set to continue straight after the wash cycle) only takes 5kg of wet clothes. SO, after the wash cycle is finished you have to take out 3/4 of your wet clothes in order for the drying process to become remotely effective for the small portion of clothes left in there (so in order to dry an entire wash load you would need to do at least 4 seperate dryer loads)...Read more

Rips clothes, doesn't dry, waste of money.
My washer dryer combo is terrible. It takes 9 HOURS to do a wash dry load with 4 bath towels and 1 hand towel and they are still very damp. It has ruined my towels by ripping them to shreds.
My clothes smell really bad when they come out of the machine, even though I leave the door open when the machine isn't in use. This is the second machine I have had as the first machine was replaced due to not drying.
The last technician that came out was rude and told me that wet towels coming out of the machine was normal and that I just had to deal with the issue.
It isn't performing the way that it is intended to. Not happy at all.
I've wasted a heap of money for a piece of junk.

Great Product
I have had this machine for over a month now, and I can say is it's the best washer/dyer that I have used. So easy use and I've had no issues the any smells coming from the machine.
The machine is so quiet, it is perfect for apartment living and the light is an extra bonus.

Best machine I have had!
I recently purchased the washer/dryer combo front loader. I have always been a top loader type person. But now I am converted! My clothes come out a lot cleaner and I have a lot options of settings, water temp, even adding a garment incase I missed something and if I want to wash and dry all in one go. I love it!!!!!

Combination washer /dryer
An excellent machine with many added extras, highly recommend it.
Many wash cycles to choose from and can pause it to add extra clothing. It is economical and quiet.
The dryer aspect of it has options of dryness and cannot be opened mid cycle, a good safety feature .

Is it possible to use the dryer function to finish off items that haven’t fully dried after being on the clothesline, eg popping items in the dryer for a few minutes?
1 answer
I just tried to do that & the undies came out wetter than they were when they went in. I don't know why it puts water through the dryer system. It makes no sense unless it is a cooling mechanism for the machine. If that is the case it still has no reason to wet the clothes. You can't trust the dryer at all.

How many towels can be dried?

I've only washed two beach towels at one time amongst other stuff- it's fairly sizeable - I put my queen size doona cover in no worries
I have put in upto 3 large queen towels and a bath mat in to be washed and dried without a problem.
I have even put in my king size quilt and have washed and dried.
