Given all the issues with the 2009-onwards focus cars, would you say that buying a 2006 Ford Focus LX LS auto is a massive risk and not worth it??

The 2006 ford focus offers a 2L engine bolted to a 4speed automatic torque converter transmission, they are a strong reliable car, they offer a decent amount of room for a car in this class and have fairly cheap service intervals.

So what I'm trying to say is ford had a good thing going with there focus range but once they introduced the dual clutch automatic system it went down hill there LW range is only really good if your looking at purchasing a manual.

Assuming you are looking at a LS Focus with automatic transmission, this model was fitted with a proven low tech 4 speed automatic box. As with any vehicle over 10 years old a full mechanical check is worth considering. Check the paint work ( especially silver ) this can be the models weak point. If possible try and find a 2006 / 2007 build.

Either needs to be taken to a dealer or cleared with an OBD2 scan tool.

Focus LS (2005-2007)

hi there everybody! I really need an informed answer... I am looking at either the Ford Focus 07 Tdci Turbo Diesal or the ford focus 06 Zetec LS.
I'm really after something that looks sporty and handles well. I have noticed the Zetec has a sporty exterior but is the handling, suspension and grunt also better in the Zetec? An answer would be very appreciated!

The Ford Focus Titanium is the worst value for money car we have ever owned. Constant gearbox and electrical problems. Ford sold these vehicles knowing they had unfixable problems in them. Now Ford and its dealers constantly lie about these problems. Last Ford, or Ford owned brand, we will ever buy. Piece of garbage that should have been Found On Rubbish Dump - FORD

the titanium model is not a LS model you fool, shows how little you know about cars
yes the Auto gear box that was in your model and all other German cars like VW and Audi all suffered the same problems, so Ford now have reverted back to the normal Auto gearbox for the current Model Focus
