Hi All, My ford starting was great and then started losing power when I go up hill and when I accelerate it will just cut power. It di it twice in 85kmns and then 8 hours later on my way back it did it everytime I accelerate to above 2000rpm. I changed the oil filter and it was very dirty but now after putting it back I can only start the car then it idles fine and when I press the pedal to rev it just bogs down an die or goes up from 1.500 rpm to about 2000/2500 and then come down again or if I keep holding the pedal down it dies or stalls the engin.

I hope this makes sence please help?.

I own a 2010 PK Ford Ranger 3.0L, I’ve recently noticed a ticking noise that increases when I rev the engine, it’s tends to be worse when the engines colder as well and also have a smell of diesel when I start the engine first thing in the morning, any ideas on what this might be?

Hi, my Rangers air con compressor is making a banging noise and seems to be loose at the front bearings. Can I still use the air con or is going to come off causing the belt to slip off also until I get back to fix it ?

When turn sharp left or right then mount the curb I get this loud noise coming front the front. Hard to explain, sounds like squealing metal. When driving normally no noise. Even when I mount the curb and dont turn sharp. Seen a BT 50 made the same noise, so it must be a common issue.

Grease the steering stops. They touch the control arm when you are at full lock, and when the wheel then goes up over curb the metal stop scrapes where it touches the control arm.

My 2010 PK Ranger has had the check engine light come up on the dash, it went into limp mode on the way home from work but I gave it 5min and wasn't far from home so I managed to get it home, what should I do from here and is it okay to drive to a close mechanic to get a scan tool put on it to narrow down where the problem could be coming from? Or should I look at getting a mobile mechanic to come out to me?

2500 for auto trans
3000 for manual
Ford are covering their butt by reducing the capacity for the auto box as they are renowned for being an average product, saying that the manual boxes have a history of bad 5th gear.

Hi I Have a 2010 Ford Ranger XLT. Having surge issues at 70km p/h and around 2000rpm. Have replaced injectors, car runs better but still have the surge/stutter. It disappears when I increase to 80km.

I have the exact same issue with a 2009 BT50. Same as a Ranger. Engine jerks and carries on until 80kph, then is as if I flick a switch and its fixed. New injectors, blocked EGR off, new suction control valve, inlet manifold off and cleaned, Scans up perfect with no codes etc. Still chasing the issue sadly

Antonio it's a pain, I have tried everything too. I have had a win though and heading in right direction. If the BT50 has a green and brown solenoid on the manifold try this....... disconnect the front vacume hose and place a screw or something in the hose, disconnect the top vacume hose and cover the stem of the solenoid with tape or a cap and take it for a drive, you might get a CEL like I did but the jerking has stopped. Next step will be to replace the boost pressure control valve solenoid that and hopefully that fixes it.
