Awesome car - awesome tech - awesome looking
I've had this car 12 months.
The 2.0 was a clear winner for me when test driving both 3.2 and the 2.0. The 2.0 was quieter, quicker and felt tougher. I have a tradie mate with the 3.2. He needed to borrow mine for the day. Once he dropped it off, he said he wanted to sell his 3.2 and grab the 2.0.
The 10 speed is really smooth and nice to have too. The tech in the Ranger was just so much better than all the other offerings and the price wasn't much more. I had a Colorado previously, but once you add all the essential extras - Like a tub liner, side steps and tow bar, you are pretty much paying for a Ranger, which comes with all of that standard.
The car is great. I'll buy another one when the next generation comes out.
Purchased in July 2021 at Heartland Motors for A$45,750.00.

Sold as quiet but makes noise after 4k replaced trans same again
I bought the 2.0 bi-turbo Wildtrak as sold as quiet smooth etc after owning a Amarok. After 3-4k it started to make a horrible vibration like noise. After it's 15k service the transmission was replaced. A further 3k and the noise is back again. This time Ford's response is "Oh it's a commercial vehicle and that noise is acceptable." Even though prior salesman and service supervisor agreed it wasn't right and after all we sell this vehicle as being quiet and comfortable and fit for purpose of driving like a sedan to being a basic laborers hack depending on the model you buy.
Purchased in March 2021.

Great vehicle
Daily commute to cbd weekends and to farm. Had hilux previous but the ranger rides so much better off road on corrugated roads. It is more comfortable interior and feels like a car. Adaptive cruise is amazing, use it everywhere, though lane assist is stupid and never use that. Got the wildtrak, pricey but love it so far.
Purchased in January 2021 at Nuford for A$69,000.00.

Great value for money Ute.
First of all let me say I’m coming from a 200 Series into a Wildtrak Ranger. Now the Wildtrak is no 200 Series, but it’s still a great car. Normally I would not go for something that is new on the market, it after doing some research I’ve found the 2.0 10 Speed to have the best value for money of all the other utes I looked at. The adaptive cruise and collision avoidance technology is brilliant. The car drives well and is pretty responsive around the city. Country and highway driving is exceptionally good, especially when using the cruise...Read more
control. I’m yet to take it off road, but I have been in other rangers off road and have found them to be very capable in both standard trim and modified. I’d suggest a front bar for protection if you drive in the country or go 4wding a lot. Overall I give the Wildtrak a 4.5 out of 5.Purchased in June 2021 at Chadstone Ford for A$58,500.00.

I have the new Ford ranger bi-turbo which I am very happy with. Only fault is I've just clocked up my first 1000 kms and the stop-start does not work anymore. Off to Ford I go.

Best vehicle I've owned by far. This 2018 Wildtrak Ranger is my 4th and by far the better.
I replaced my 2016 wildtrak for the 2018 wildtrak. I drive my vehicles long distances often for family and pleasure reasons and I find them very economical and comfortable. I totally reccomend you try one you won't want anything else. These vehicles have so much power and torque they surpass the competition in my opinion

Glow plugs
Performs well 2018 Ranger recall for glow plugs.
Ford agent after trying to remove glow plug snapped off had to remove cylinder head only done 17000 km. If you purchase make sure no recalls on model purchased. Not a good look for Ford using inferior glow plugs. 150 w Inverter behind seat for 240 v charging of smart phone failed.

Love the drive!
Was in the market for a 5 seat, Diesel 4WD for towing, work vehicle and family car. This narrows to a dual cab ute, and I wanted a vehicle with the latest safety and tech options. Picked the Ranger due to BT-50 brother being very light on for inclusions and getting left behind in the features department even if its essentially the same vehicle. Didn't consider the rest seriously because Ranger had everything (more or less) I was looking for.
The vehicle is a pleasure to drive. Feels solid on the road with a good balance between 'truck' and c...Read more
ar. Suspension is well tuned and surprised me for a solid axel leaf spring set up. A little extra weight in the back helps, but even on rough roads its does slip around too much and the traction control assists. Noise in the cabin is average. Engine noise could be reduced, but I like the growl. The interior finish is a suitable quality for the vehicle. Durable seat cloth, the plastics are not as bad as other Ford vehicles. Rear seats are comfortable enough for the average adult but I've not tested on a long trip. The kids haven't complained except for wanting reclining seats! (sorry kids, not in a dual cab) The vehicle has done 19K to date (Jul17). The only issue I've had is faulty front parking sensors which seems to originate from the installation of the ARB bull bar fitted on delivery. The dealer has been excellent in attempting to resolve this issue so no complaints about the vehicle or customer service. Still not resolved - my issue would be with ARB. Otherwise, very happy with running of the vehicle. Economy has average 10.5-11L/100km. 16.5L/100km when towing a 2.5T caravan. Other bullet points GOOD1 comment

year in a 10 week sprint with out issue - so score one there. Was comfortable, capable and reliable (except for the sensors). The radar didn't like the long hauls either, with adaptive cruise shutting down a few times. Have considered selling, but still holding on. When I do, I don't know for sure that I'd buy another one. If only Toyota truly had a dual cab that at least matched the Ford for features and specs but with the legendary reliability and service.
