How do i fix overload

John, I bought ours in January and have used it several times. I have had no problems with this generator. It still starts first time and runs smooth even with the airconditioner, battery charger and microwave all going at once and no problems. Mind you I start it on a regular basis to ensure I don't have any problems. And yes I am a genuine buyer.

Yes I did, it was a faulty inverter module. It is the big alloy housing with electronic components and coils etc in behind the battery.
Bought a replacement from Outbax camping for $165 plus postage and fitted it.
All working fine now. Outbax camping seem to be a good mob and were most helpful

I have the same problem. Delivered a few days ago and it takes forever to start. This can't be normal and I am considering returning it. Even the manual that was supplied is useless, doesn't mention key start or remote start.

One problem could be a very small hole/puncture in a fuel line between the fuel pump and carburatur, or between the fuel pump and the primer pump and for that the fuel system can't be properly be primered, I this case you can feel a light smel of gasoline.
On my xyg3500ie generator I have a small puncture between the fuel pump and the primer pump and I change oll the fuels line after the fue pump allso I put a stronger construction (moose racer) enduro motorcycle fuel filter for safty reason.

Postage was free to Qld when I purchased this generator. It was a no brainer for me. I had to stay at home to sign for the delivery though.
Perhaps contact the seller and negotiate a better price if you're willing to pick it up yourself. It's really your personal preference.

My new gentrax generator, will only start under full choke even when warm. It’s only run for an hour and doesn’t seem to run that smooth with the choke off on either full or eco mode.
Has anyone had this problem?

Yes, thank you, it was dodgy fuel of all things. I’ve had several issues with it since then which my boys have been able to fix thankfully. This is the second one of these inverters I’ve had and while they run they’re great but I wouldn’t buy another or recommend them to anybody. Always seems to be a new issue with it.

If you are living in remote or isolated places it is a good idea to put a good quality fuel stabiliser in your gasoline to prevent guming the fuel line and the carburatur, and you whil not have starting issues in emergency situations.

I contacted the company I purchased from and they sent a part, which I had to buy, that they thought was the problem, my son had a go at replacing it but still did not work, as I live in Tasmania no service centre was suggested

I bought my Gentrax 3.5kW online. There are no stores in Perth. I think I paid $500 with free delivery

bought on ebay with a 20% off promotion. $452 delivered.

I am thinking dirty fuel, may need to clean everything out.

Check oil level as it has automatic cut out when oil is low that’s the reason it won’t keep running

it is a GS MOON generator (CHINA) with a different name!! the factory looks quite impressive ! whether it can hang tough is yet to be determined ! i am still in the early stages of ownership so far so good!

Unless you give the size and number of batteries in Amp/hours, no one will be able to give you an answer.....

I have a similar 3,5kw inverter generator and I buy it for my off grid solar system and I make it to work with my Xantrex sw 3024 inverter charger, my battery are T105re from Trojan and with this geny and with the Xantrex inverter charger in charger mode I am able to charge a 18 kw T105re battery bank.
The limitation (2400w) is from the inverter charger (max. charging capability is 100A on 24 vdc)not due to the generator.
The inverter charger start/stop automatically /or manually the generator wich I modified and I made a automatic choke.
My generaton is made from Xingue China and it is xyg3500ie model.

If it is helpful I am from Romania and in this part of the world we have winters with a lot of snow, and my photovoltaic panels stay 2÷5 days under snow,and for this reason I to buy the inverter charger and the generator.

Did you fill it with oil before you started it?

One of the reasons of the "no running or running and after half an hour or a hour run and than stop" can be the fuel cap air switch used in open position when the generator is running,
This switch is not opening correctly and air can't replace the gasoline consumed when the generator is running and create vacuum in the fuel tank and the fuel pump can't work properly. In that situation you must dismantle the fuel cap and very carefully clean it from plastic ridges and make a little bigger the small hole from the fuel cap.
To confirm the problem after the generator are suddenly stops you open the fuel cap and you while hear the air running in the fuel tank compensating the vacuum created in fuel tank and fuel systems.

As soon as power needed, the generator stalls.
As though the overload circuit is faulty

Could you please advise who told you tha an extension lead is not recommended as we are having problems

No sorry, can't help you. It could be faulty appliances or a faulty Gen. Set.
Mine is working fine, however, it hasn't been used a lot.

We returned it to the supplier and happy to give our money back.

It is my experience that you have just waisted your money as i did i tried to return it only to be told that it will cost me to send it and then they will look it over and get back to me . I'm pretty sure that they would have said it was my problem ( even though i stripped it and found broken timing chain through dodgy workmanship where welded to the decompression lever eg:auto decompression unit ) and would have charged me for transport and there time to fix. I will never buy another one and will try and advice people of what happened to me .

I had the same problem they tried to tell me it was a worn piston from lack of service. I had it taken to supplier in Sydney by Cain of friends to be told that lie as a machanic I knew it was a cam fault.
When I told them I will pick the unit it up to use as evidence. They decided to send a refurbished one.
It doesn't work out of the box yesterday day. Here we go again.
