Hi Maddie

You should have a 2.5mm cable next to the blue water house which will plug into one of the two sockets on the side of the kitchen.

When plugging in to 240V power at camp sites, is it normal for the charger to hum constantly or does it just do this while charging (or shouldn't it do it at all?). When plugging charger in to power there is an immediate loud 'humming' noise. That is OK I guess as it sounds like it is at least doing something and charging does take place, but worried that after a few hours it did not cut out (i.e. when max charge was obtained). Just wanted to check all was operating as intended. Any advice or feedback appreciated.

Hi GCP

The "humming noise" is normal while charging. The charger is a smart charger so it will trickle a charge into the batteries

we have a patron, and it is 'plumbed' to the sink. the bottles stay at the front of the camper, in the storage box. there is a gas line/hose that you connect to under the sink.

Where is the 50amp Breaker switch on the 2018 Alpha Black Series located? I can't seem to get the battery charging. I have plugged it in to 240v and turned the switch on the side to on. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers

Hey Mitch

The 50amp circuit breaker is on the electrical board. It is a red circuit breaker with 50A stamped on it.
Make sure the breaker is not tripped when trying to charge the battery.

Mate check if you have your Charger switched on its on the right of the charger and it needs to be turned on,
and your converter for your solar is not engaged

Hi Luke

Have you checked the 50 amp circuit breaker, to ensure it's not tripped?

Hi,
We have a 6month old Alpha Camper which doesn’t seem to have enough power to run our 12v portable fridge. It has enough power to turn the lights in the fridge on but not enough to turn on the compressor.

The fridge is able to run when good lighting on the solar, however when it goes overcast or night time, it keeps tripping the switch.

The fridge works perfectly in the car, (12v), and on 240v but the camper seems to continuously trip.

Has anyone had this issue?? The fridge is brand new, and low amp usage.

Cheers

Hi MumOf1

Not sure what the problem could be without running few tests including what charge your battery holds.
Just couple of simple tests you can do to work out what is happening?
Was the charge of your battery 100% or over 12.8V during the day?
Also, was anything else connected overnight, other than the fridge? Tablets, mobile phones, LEDs and etc?
Ultimately please feel free to contact our support team on 1300 226 737 option #3 and we’ll see what we can help you with as you are covered by Black Series 12 months Australia wide warranty.

Good morning,
Thanks for the response. After reviewing Facebooks sites we saw most people have the same problem and had to upgrade their wiring. Our battery was fully charged and we weren’t running anything else off it.

It’s been a bit of a shame that you’d assume being a camper trailer it would be set to go, but the common consensus is that it’s a fabulous shell but everyone has to spend thousands upgrading everything they come with. Its a great product thought... im just glad we got a near new one second hand and saved several thousand when we would have had to upgrade wiring anyway!

Hi Pete

It is unusual to hear of this problem. We at Black Series would like to rectify this for you so can you please email me ( [email protected] )your details and the details of your trailer -VIN, year build and maybe a photo or two of the draws and the seals. Also, side profile of your camper trailer would be good as well.
Let get this unusual problem that you have sorted for you or at least give you an idea on how to mend it.
Kind Regards

Well after talking to Aleks from CIG black series
We have sorted the problem out .
Human error . ( and a bloke with a green garden hose cleaning the dust out of the draws is to blame )
Aleks was awesome but thanks again for the initiative and the follow up service.
Sorry boys

Hi. Just picked up our new Alpha camper. Can't wait to take it out for the first time. Just wanted to know if some one can explain the electrical setup. Understand the main switch. There is a "pump" switch which is obvious. There are also another two switches - "Lights" and "Plugs". Just wanted to clarify exactly what they are. I assume the "plugs" switch powers up the 12v lighter sockets. Also, if in a caravan park with 240v, do you plug in the charger at all times for the pump or only put it on when the battery starts to require a re-charge. Appreciate your help. Ray

Hi Ray, the power setup has changed since I bought my camper so I cannot comment on your question. Hopefully someone will be along shortly with an answer. Otherwise just ring the Sydney showroom on the Toll Free number and pose the question to them. Enjoy your camping trip
