Great trailer and good service
Hi there,
I've got the Black series Patron camper and have been very happy with as do the kids. The finish of the trailer is good and profound well off road as I've used it quiet a lot lately. I had a couple of problems with the stabiliser legs! But the crew at Black series were very quick to help get these rectified. Any time I've call you guys or emailed you have always had a quick response and is very much appreciated. I love this trailer.

The good and bad of Extreme Commando
Received my extreme commando trailer in SA last Monday. Chassis and trailer look well built and solid. The canvas on the tent looks to be very heavy duty. I haven't used the trailer off road yet but in the 50km from the transport depot to where i live resulted in the hubs getting very hot due to brakes not adjusted properly and rubbing. One of the fly screens on the tent had a decent hole and one of the toolbox doors kept falling open while locked. Have contacted GIC weeks ago and haven't heard back. Customer service was ordinary throughout th...Read more
e whole process although i did manage to get hold of a couple of helpful staff. Felt like i was kept in the dark a bit especially as i was buying without seeing it. Couldn't even tell me the trailer had left the yard so i could arrange time off work to pick it up. Latches that hold the gas bottles and Jerry cans are ordinary and will be changed. About to go on a 3 week trip with lots of offroad. Hopefully she is as tough as GIC say it is. All in all, seems good value for the price tag. A few tweeks, some better attention to detail, and better customer service would go a long way especially for people buying the trailer blind from interstate. Hopefully my choice of GIC over MDC etc will pay off. Will update review after this trip away. Thanks.

mper now in north west NSW. It towed well from SA and has been great. Another 2500 kms to go!Thought i would provide an update as promised after my trip away. Spent 3 weeks touring NSW. Some offroad and mostly highway driving totalling about 5000km. All in all the trailer was pretty good. Had... Read more
heaps of room and after a bit of practice was pretty quick to set up. Still haven't tried the annex. The negatives that occurred included the stainless water tank busting a big split down one of the welds and losing all our water resulting in having to return to a main town for repairs. This cost $70 and the welding fabricator thought the quality of the welds was very average on the tank and recommended that i get all seams re welded when back home. Both pump taps broke on the first day with the handle falling off. This made using the taps very difficult. The main tent was quite watertight but leaked badly through the door zips. They have no shrouding or canvass flap covering the zip and the water trickled in every time it rained.

The camper trailer that's been to hell and survived
I have dragged this poor thing thru some of the nastiest places in oz. It has never leaked even in torrential downpoors and howling winds. The only time it got wet inside was when I got caught in a mini cyclone but even then I jus bailed out the water got the broken limbs of the tent an got on with camping. For a so called cheap camper the only thing I've fixed is to bolt the sink on & put 2 new tap's. I have seen dearer campers with more problem's & I guarantee not many of them would still be in as good a condition as mine after the 5 years of hell I've put it thru and probably another ten to come Thanks' GIC for making a cheap tough camper.
