Excellent Android Phone
This is a near perfect Android phone in my opinion. No bloat, just Android as it should be. I went from an old Huawei to this and it was a huge upgrade for me. The screen is just straight up beautiful to look at and its got the power to make all browsing silky smooth. I have literally never ad and freeze ups or hangs with this. Used to happen all the time with my old phone. Good maps are excellent too, the satellite locks immediately most times. Battery life is good but depends entirely on your use.The only downside is no headphone jack. I rate this phone and would recommend to to anyone. Its near faultless.

Great phone
Love this phone. Light but good size, fast, excellent battery life, quick to charge, perfect screen sensitivity and colours. Initialy was worried that it's a bit too narrow - should not have, as it's absolutely fine - can watch videos and read everything without a problem. Pure Android without bloatware and skins; everything just works. Finger print security access is really useful. Chose "kinda blue" colour for easier spotting inside my purse.

Best phone I've ever had
It lives up to its reputation in that it delivers picture quality second to none. It has a powerful processor and does everything I need it to do. It came with a Google Home Mini with my purchase. It syncs up well with Google Photo as well as all my Google documents.

Top notch device
I must admit I got this device because of the 24mo pack from Telstra was providing offered the device with no extra pay. That said, I chose to go Pixel 2 instead any competitor (also available in the package mentioned) since I was a fan from HTC (that is no longer a top competitor, but I had great experience with every device I ever used from them. HTC Desire, Desire HD, HTC One). Now under the Google umbrella I wouldn't expect any less of what I have now.
The build quality is impeccable. The features and specifications are at the top level ...Read more
in any comparison. Camera and extra basic features are great! The finger print detection is extremely accurate and impressively fast. Cons: - Built in battery. But there's simply no other top notch phone with replaceable batteries. - No MicroSD expansion. A feature that is less and less available and the brands locking you and using that to push "programmed obsolescence". 64GB will be enough because I'm savvy enough to find my way, but many users can face problems by storing photos and videos not knowing how to manage that properly. - No headphone jack. Another trend among the top players. Push you to use a clunky converter if you don't want to use Bluetooth audio devices (and have another device to keep charging). - USB Type C. Embrace for impact as we'll go thru that time where we're changing standards. Everything is very well adapted to microUSB, and you can find a spare cable on the ground... Now we'll have to deal with converter and special cables, and the cheap stores in mall corridors charging 30 bucks on a cheap chinese cable, just because you need them that bad. As I have a Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, I can say the XL is nice with the big screen, but the regular sized doesn't let you down for a second. All the same feeling and experience is very similar on both, except for the obvious difference on its size.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Some great innovation but the basics don't work
Hi
I purchased this phone to try something different from Samsung. Phone looked great and I like the finger reader at the back and the camera is good. Finding the Google home that came with it also fun but some of the basics don't work.
Sending a photo doesn't work for me. It always comes as a group text and in another string. Once I press send i get the text straight back as if it was coming from me. If I then write a text on this string it then also sends it straight back in the same conversation but not for someone sending to me. I am co...Read more
nstantly having to monitor two message strings with my friends to piece a conversation together. I spoke to Telstra and they said it was google, speaking to google they say it is Telstra... Sending pictures from a photo from the camera app sends it as a link instead of the photo. To avoid this I have to send from the message app but then the above scenario happens. Apps crash all the time, when I highlight to copy something in a text or email, the Copy pop up takes 45 second to appear. I've had the phone since Dec-17.Similar opinion? Best camera hands down.
The Pixel 2 is honestly the best phone I've yet owned. For years, I've been waiting to find a phone that allows me to take the best quality photo without the hassle of space, and google's unlimited storage perfectly captures this! Stock android, no bloatware.. This phone is a lot better than Samsung with so many new features, and the speed is extremely fast as well!

Converted from Iphone to Google phone!
I have been an Iphone user for many generations, but I have to give it up because of its price. It was an easy transfer between those 2 phones, except for items in Iphone 'notes'. I had to manually transfer them. I must admit it takes a bit of effort to navigate around the Google phone, since switching. I still think it is worth the effort because Google Pixel 2 offers so much flexibility on their apps compared to Iphone. I can customise them so much more to suit my need. I can finally share my calendar and set reminders without restriction! (I...Read more
phone only allows 'remind me in 1 hour, 1 day, 1 week or 1 month'....which is useless). I also love the design. It is much lighter than an iphone. Iphone definitely has a better interface compared to Google, but for the price I paid and its functionality, it is good value for money.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

My second brain.
This phone is awesome. I love how sturdy it feels - not like a price of fragile plastic. It has awesome battery life. It is fast and responsive and the photos are always great. Will definitely be upgrading to other Google phones in the future :D
There is literally nothing I don't like about this phone

Android as it should be!
I've been using this phone for the last 2 months, in that time I've been really happy with its performance. The phone is fast, battery life is solid, and the camera does an amazing job. The voice control does an excellent job once you've trained it to recognise your voice, the voice control works really well with the Google Home Mini too (as you would probably expect).
My only real gripe with this phone is the lack of a headphone jack, to be honest, I was expecting it to be there and was surprised when it wasn't. To Google's credit, they ha...Read more
ve included a USB C to Aux cable to overcome this which is really handy, although if you need to charge your phone at the same time you won't be able to, as it obviously uses the only USB C port on the phone. If you're after an Android phone as it should be, this is it... No annoying unwanted apps pre- installed, you decide what you want!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

It's amazing
The phone is amazing. It has replaced three devices and its voice control is the best I have ever used. Camera quality is outstanding and connectivity to services are second to none. Ease of use and strength of the phone are great as well. Would definitely recommend buying the pixel 2

Solid phone, easy to use
upgraded to the pixel about 2 weeks ago, its fast and easy to use.
the camera is good, vibrant colours.
I am slowly adjusting to life without a headphone jack but its ok.
The battery performance is really good, my old phone i was charging in the afternoon and this one lasts all day and night with heavy use before i have to charge it.

Easily the best 'vanilla' Android experience going
Bought this after having used iPhone for years because I was sick of Apple's updates ruining the phone.
Very happy that I did because it's simply an all round easier and more enjoyable experience.
The vanilla Android complements the stylish phone amazingly. The camera is great and I'll definitely be buying the next Pixel as well.

Excellent phone
This phone is excellent have not had any issues with it so far. Can Hear clearly through the speaker, photos are great quality and it automatically updates all the apps on it own you do not need to approve it to happen. I would highly recommend this phone for anyone wanting to convert from an iPhone to an android phone.

Not the sexiest of phones, but functional
In terms of user interface I feel like it is half way between my old Samsung and an Apple. There isn't really anything that made me feel like I upgraded from a Galaxy s6. The only upgrade is a seriously amazing battery.
The "water-resitant" phone feature is a bit of a fail and I found after it got splashed I can't use half of my chargers anymore. I plan on returning th ephone and getting a replacement.
I also assumed the device would work smoothly with the Google Home offerings, but they don't really work well. Both light up if I say "okay google", they don't talk to each other if I set alarms/timers/reminders etc.
I probably won't replace my phone with another google phone.

Great phone, with a few flaws
The phone itself runs as smoothly as you would expect a stock android phone to run. Functionality and compatibility with apps is great and I've never had any issues. The two main problems I have are:
1. battery life
2. camera light flares
The phone being so heavily promoted on its great battery life only applies to the pixel 2 XL. The pixel 2 itself will only last me 4 hours of screen on time at most. The next issue with the camera is in led lighting it picks up the light flares and distorts videos and some photos with lines across the photo/video.

Best android phone I've used
Definitely recommend. I've used many other android phones from a range of different manufacturers and the pixel 2 has by the smoothest OS experience. I have the 64gb model and though I was initially worried id run out of storage space, the photos app allows you to quickly delete any photos that have been backed up to the cloud so storage hasn't been an issue. The best part about it is the camera. The portrait mode makes ordinary shots into something a little more special.

Avoid if you want reliability
I am now on my third pixel 2 xl. The first, the bottom speaker broke, the second, the usb-c port stopped working. All the while I'm having issues with Bluetooth connectivity and poor wifi and to top it off I have now found out Google maps can't even direct me properly. The only resolutions Google offer on any issues is go into safe mode and then eventually restore your phone. I have probably spent more than 10 hours (and that's conservative,) trying to fix this phone or setting it up again.
Save your money and maybe wait until the pixel 3 i...Read more
s released. This one isn't worth the hassle and if you start looking into the Pixel forums you'll find hundreds if not thousands of people that agree with me. I just wish Google would actually resolve the issues.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Beautiful phone
I purchased my pixel 2 XL in February 2018 and love it . Incredible screen, battery life and ease of use . As it's made by Google fur Google it isn't bloated with software . The camera is excellent too . My only small gripe is the so called unscratchable Gorilla Glass is scratchable ! I have cared for the phone lovingly but it has a couple of hairline scratches already . Meaning I will get a screen guard . Dissapointed though with gorilla Glass.

Great camera but battery life can be better
I bought this back in December and found the camera for photo taking to be great but there are some minor issues--some fleshing lines, when taking videos with it (for the first few seconds). One of the other great function is the free unlimited upload space which means that I can upload all my video and photos to Google. I cannot think of other issues apart from this minor issue at this stage.
Battery life is not too bad, but it can be better. It generally lasts for a day if I don't use it much but it runs out quickly if I watch videos or use the phone frequently that day. As it uses the USB-C cable, I needed to buy new charging cable to charge the phone in the car or when use my previous power bank.

Fantastic phone!
I have been an avid iphone user and switched to the Pixel 2 thinking I would regret the choice - no way!
Awesome camera, battery life is quite good (in comparison to the iphone), fast charge is great, no bloatware clutter being a google phone which is great.
Only con is the USB C port being used for both earphones and charging - makes it hard to listen to music and charge at the same time, however the fast charge mitigates some of the negative.
