Read morelled my service, they kept charging me recharge fees, despite the fact that I asked for my credit card to be deleted from my account. some two months after my service was discontinued, I was still being charged 30 times (!!!) a recharge fee of $30, so my credit card was debited by goTalk over $900 for a service that has been disconnected for two months. I had to go to the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman to have the charges reversed. Do not deal with this company - they are either crooks, or incompetent to the point of being laughable...

I have been a customer for about 7 months now, and everything was OK as long as I was using up my credits and topping up just before it goes zero... until, on 2 occasions for 2 separate periods of time that I did not make many calls and therefore had a bit of credit left in my account, that I found out my account expired and I had to buy new credits (I usually buy in $50 lots), and that my old credit was not valid anymore (that is, they're gone). I bought another $50 credit this first time it happened, but within 3 months ...

It sucks that your credits expire just because you didn't use them for some length of time... I was told by their customer service that this period was 2 months. If you want to meet some real liars and cheats sign up with this company. They are also incredibly presumptive, I sent them huge letter of complaint in which I spoke of calling the Telecommunications Ombudsman yet three days later received a call asking if I would like to increase my services! There will be a huge celebration in our house when we say goodbye to Gotalk.

Don't go near them. I have had nothing but trouble trying to convince them that they have to authorise the return of a rental telephone which took 18 months to resolve.
Abominable service centre. Totally incompetent call centre staff. Continual increase in charges for processing payments with out notification.

Gotalk is a typical company that just want to make money and not give anything in return. I have nothing against the staff at the help desk because I don't think it's their fault (as they are friendly) but they are clearly under trained.
I rang serveral times to clear up a matter with my invoice and every time I was promised it would be fixed by the time the next invoice came out... But it wasn't. In the end I gave up and joined another broadband/phone company. Now with my new company I was updated with progress, I was called back and I wasn't...

These guys were hiring on the Gold Coast a year or so ago, so I applied for a job (and was MORE than qualified, having come from the same industry). So let's recap: make me wait 40 minutes after the appointment time, then fob me off after two minutes with a BS reason. I had been with GoTalk for a year or so, and over that time we had so many drop outs for out internet, and when we asked them to look at it, they told us they would need to charge us $150 to look into the problem, regardless of whos fault it ends up being.
Our phone service wasn't bad, but highly overpriced - and, we're still trying to swap plans (they changed plans without telling us)

BE CAREFUL! Do not agree to even take the phone call as they have illegally taken over our account with our provider, causing great inconvenience as kids cannot access web for their projects, no email communication, extra cost to reconnect with current provider to reinstate service, amounting to reconnection fees, etc. Go Talk illegally go ahead without your permission causing extra financial strain ... BE VERY CAREFUL!
Before even considering switching over from my current provider to GoTalk, I was conned by GoTalk - so no pros to even mention...

I had a phone card I used to make calls overseas from my home phone. Once I called to re-charge it this friendly operator told me that I was getting 'ripped off' on the current card I was using and offered me Go Talk Pre-paid mobile card which can also be used for the landline. I paid $40 for the pack and was meant to get $40 credit, so a win win situation I thought. The package to 10 days to get to me and then when I tried to use it 3 weeks later I couldn't. My mobile phone is restricted so the SIM they sent me wouldn't work but I didn't care ...
Read moremuch about this. I mostly just wanted to use the card for my landline but this didn't work as my card had expired. Only had 30 day expiry, which the sales rep failed to tell me. I called them and when I finally got through the person did extend the expiry (which was kind of them) and told me to wait 24hrs until I could use it. I waited 24hrs and still the card wouldn't work. Had to call them again and they activated the card again. Waited another 24hrs and this time I was able to make some phone calls. I'm definitely not re-charging through this company again. I use Skype for my international calls now as I'm sick of getting ripped off by phone card companies. You can look up your a/c history on their web-site. It lists charges for each call, but not their extraneous fees nor credits for topping up. When you call to add prepaid credit to the ezychat phone, you now talk to someone in the Philippines who has no idea what you are talking about. I joined Gotalk over 3 years ago. The $14.95 Voip plan was great value and they had real people on the end of the technical support line. They then moved the helpdesk to the Phillipines but I was prepared to put up with the total lack of technical assistance and having to deal with a Phillipines call centre that is totally useless because call quality was OK and the service was cheap. Two months ago they jacked the price to $19.95 and I have tried to talk to those "people" in the phillipines several times and ended up throwing my phone across the room. Do yourself a favour and avoid this company.

The customer service has been the worst I've ever experienced in my life. Every call I’ve had to make results in at least 15 minutes of wait time before speaking to a representative. An indication perhaps of the amount of service calls they get and the reluctance of hiring enough people to bringing that time to a reasonable time frame. terrible ... frustrating ... go somewhere else for your service. The services I requested never were fulfilled & even simple things like cancelling an internet service on a requested date was done 5 days early .. so i was stranded! They kept billing me for a service i requested to be cancelled and now they keep on bugging me with sales pitches. Avoid if you can.
The service was pretty good when i signed up 4 years ago through locally based staff.
Now they use off shore staff who are very poorly trained, take a very long time to complete simple requests ... not uncommon to be on the phone for an hour & don't understand english very well.

Avoid them, they are a terrible company. Most of them do not understand English. They hang up if they get stuck. They make promises, that they never keep. The customer is worthless in their eyes, they just want our money. It have been trying to sort out my wrong billing for nearly a year, and it is still wrong- and I am made to feel guilty for their mistakes. I don't need this hassle, Cancer is easier to fight than Gotalk!

Why is it that both Telstra and Optus can't give me ADSL, but these guys can. I ran checks through Telstra(this was done using LOLO) and Optus and both said I was too far away from the exchange, but the guy at GoTalk said I was really close and I would get great speeds.....!!!!! I'll save myself the frustration and just believe they are a con artists!!!

DO NOT GET THESE GUYS. This has to be worse provider out there. Stuffed up my bills for over 6 months, each time had to call them and they never called back when they said. Took ages to get connected. Drops internet over night. Argued over the type of contract I signed up over when I tried to leave them. Service people have poor knowledge of internet equipment and are LAZY! They've made me SO ANGRY - it's not worth the pain.

Took them six weeks to get me connected, they kept making mistakes all along the way, now I am connected with them I have to contact them every month to discuss the mistakes with my bill. I am being charged $2.00 every month to pay by Bpay yet I will not let them direct debit as they have not yet once got my bill right. Now I invoice them for my time spent talking to them and for early payment of my bill wich of cause costs them $2.00 per month. I don't have anything good to say about this company and if you want their head office phone number you need caller id as the head office number in QLD displays if they ever call you.

Signed up as price for VoIP + naked DSL package seemed like a good deal. However once signed up, overseas landline calls were charged as mobile calls, and this was not fixed despite a number of emails proving the issue with example numbers. Our VoIP service was disconnected after 69 mobile calls within the month, saying we had made 128 calls; however they had added overseas calls that were not part of the 100 call monthly quota. After 6 weeks of being fobbed off for a mistake not of my making i am feeling angry and frustrated. The companies accountability for wrong billing is zero. There is no proper line of responsibility for complaints- or a believable complaints process. When I call to complain my money has not yet been refunded, I get a customer service person who puts me onto their supervisor - who says she can do nothing else but inform head office. When I ask for a contact in head office I am told I cannot contact them directly.

Swapped phone and internet to gotalk. Had no phone line for 5 days (no line connection at all) my husband has a medical condition and nearest town is 50km away so it is important to be able to contact medical help (if power is out, so is our moblies cause the towers go down) - their response was that we should only use there services as a second connection, not our main one. Tell me why I am going to pay 2 phone carriers?? The internet is not much better - always having problems connecting to web mail - they not sure why. Won't listen to me...

Still in contract but as far as I am concern will pay the 1 month of no service and they can stick it. Consumer has the legal right to terminate if they can't supply the service they promised. Their sales team is really slick - can't do enough for you. After you sign up you find their customer support staff are a total waste of space - most do not comprehend basic English and few speak understandable English. Their most common answer is "I can tell the Technical Staff but I can't do anything else. Thank you for calling Gotalk."

Read moreep snaring new suckers (just like they did me). I think they figure its easier to market their service than to actually put effort into fixing stuff-ups they cause. ADSL2+ connection is quite stable but whenever Gotalk runs its processes to track Download usage they cause your modem/router to reboot - happens at least twice daily approx 1:00am and 6:00am Have made many complaints with them re shaping my download speed well before I have used my download quota. Even the usage log sheets Gotalk provides on-line prove this. If you call and you get someone who can speak and understand English (this is very rare) you will be amazed by the breath taking natural or acquired lack of intelligence of their support staff. Bottom line is they do not give a stuff about their customers and do absolutely nothing to fix problems they, and they alone, cause. My contract will be up soon and I am outa their clutches.Terrible
