From initial point of contact, showroom visitation,site inspections/measure up's to installation and the follow up visit to check that all was well we cannot fault the process or personnel involved with our garage door replacement.
The panel door works well and looks far better than we had envisaged; complimenting the renovations that we are undertaking.
To be honest we were a bit apprehensive about the Company on reading previous reviews.
We only got the one quote, as we had had some previous bad experiences with other garage door supplier

I had two doors fitted in April 2008 the warranty has past as it is a sectional door (5 years)the top panels are both rusting I have since been advised by a painter friend that regularly I should have washed the door with a car wash containing a wax. It removes the salt which which can build up over time I had never thought of this happening as I live 7KM from the Ocean. The rep for Gryphon (Mark Bennington)was great and took photos etc and took them to Gryphons management. Unfortunately they were not quite as interested claimed metal shaving

1. Single small dent in bottom panel of door, panel needs replacing.
2. It is a rental property that we needed the work done ASAP so we could get our bond back
3. Called Gryphon garage doors Perth for a quote (as no one else can match a panel to a Gryphon door)
4. Gryphon employee comes to measure up door and give quote. quote received within 2 days of contact.
5. Sales rep says 100% payment is required to start work.
6. $890 for one panel and installation paid by cc next day. lead time given two weeks possibly sooner.

Don't expect after sales service. It doesn't exist. Don't expect the contract to be honoured. They squirm their way out of most of them. They need a permanent seat at VCAT. Do not believe the delivery times as they a gross under estimate. Never give them your credit card details, as they will take payment even if you think the job is disgraceful. Under no circumstances ask to speak to the owner of the company, as he is the source of the problems. If you have an issue, try your luck with the Sales Manager. This company seems to have a number of bad reviews - but I have nothing but good things to say about the company. We are in WA so obviously used the Perth branch of the company. I emailed enquiries to numerous garage door companies and Gryphon were the only ones to come back to me offering to come and do a quote. What can I say... truly awful. Was quoted 3-4 weeks for install and here we are two months later and nothing!

Over that time they have:
- failed to deliver the goods as promised;
- failed to keep me appropriately informed on the status of the order;
- failed to contact me regarding month-long delays in production;
- failed on nine separate occasions to return my phone calls within the agreed timeframe or at all;
- kept me on hold for an hour waiting to speak to the appropriate personnel; and
- provided suspect and contradictory excuses for why the appropriate personnel were unavailable

I paid a deposit and was told that the doors would be installed within 3 weeks. Eventually after we chased them up for a couple of weeks after the original 3 weeks our doors were installed. They took an unauthorised payment from my credit card, much to my disgust, after they'd agreed to withhold an amount until the manager came down and had a look at the job, which wasn't completed properly. Unfortunately I believed the advertising about Gryphon Garage Doors but I was sadly mistaken. After paying the deposit it took many weeks to get the door installed but it was left unfinished. After a servere hailstorm that destroyed my roller door the insurance company agreed to replace the door. Grypon came back with a very reasonable quote. After looking at there range of doors in their showroom in Bayswater we decided on a panel lift door. Thats pretty much where the good service stopped. From memory we were quoted 4 weeks because it was a rather wide door. It was nearly 8 weeks before it was installed. 1. The Sales Rep- Michael was great- very nice and welcoming.. that is as far as their good service goes! Michael advised it would take 3-4 weeks to have the roller doors installed.

2. On the 3rd week I had heard nothing, Michael advised for me to call the company and they could help me out. When I had contacted the company all I was advised was "its still in manufacturing stages"...I asked for an estimated time frame and she could not tell me. and said she can take down my number and call me back.

3 Months since the first attempt at installation our door is still not right. Scratches on the finish, closing at an angle with a 4inch gap across the bottom.. Fantastic! Promises made by [name removed], [name removed] and [name removed] to have the problems rectified have simply not been carried out.

The door is simply embarrasing. Poorly installed with total lack of follow up by the company. Who cares about a 10 year warranty on the motor when the door doesnt close straight? The pelmets are buckled, and the panels were scratched upon inst
