The Best Mulcher Shredder on the Market
I researched almost every mulcher for sale in Australia and Hansa products came up on top. I purchased the C7 model mulcher, have used it 3 times so far with excellent results. Ok it's not the cheapest one on the market, BUT it's Australian made, and the material and workmanship in the unit are top quality. I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for. The cost of this unit with the ( towing attachment for my ride on mower which was an extra $140.00 ) all up $2990.00, and as far as I'm concerned I have the best product available.

er 5th 2017 Update: Hansa C7 2. 5 years After my first Review. It;s now over 2 and a half years since I purchased my Hansa C7, I have had it serviced, as well as replacing the 2 cutting blades, a spare set comes with the machine, and I have resharpened the original set to use again. My C7 still looks and performs the same as the day I first used it. If you follow the simple starting up and shutting down procedure which takes around 15 seconds to perform, this machine will last for years. I still believe its the best on the Market. ( and as I think I first stated I am No Way connected with the Hansa Company in any way shape or form. )4 comments
Now November, have cleaned and shredded tree branches and shrubs from approx 1 acre and its still looks and runs as well as the day I purchased it. ( starts first go every time )

bit in either starting or in shredding mulching performance. I still stand by the saying you get what you pay for. When you look at the years of trouble free service this product will give you, the price is not expensive one bit.

Shoot the mulch direct back on the garden of in a bin with the adjustable shoot
Easy to operate just put what you need chipped down the shoot and watch it disapear

I do lots of palms and lots of foxtails. They seem to wear blades quickly. Machine has done about 35 hrs. I am on 3rd set of blades and need to turn anvil around. Is this normal? Any suggestions?
Can anvil be resharpened? If so, what cutting angle?

I have had the blades sharpened - not replaced - 3 times. (Cost $20 each time). The anvil is at 90deg, (blades 40 deg) you should be able to rotate it once, then I'd guess resharpen it or get a new one. Wear depends on what you are chipping with the machine, perhaps palms are more abrasive, particular if dry. Ask the Hansa people, they are very helpful and have given me a jig (which I have not used yet) for resetting the blades after sharpening.
I sharpen my blades also. What does jig do? Is it to get correct anvil setting?
John L.Hansa Chippers
Hi Keatings, Mark is right, you can get your blades sharpened and it is quite affordable. For you to be going through blades that quick and the anvil needing replacement you must be putting through small stones or something similar (grit or sand) when picking up the palms from the ground. We sell hundreds of sets of blades a year but i could count the fingers on one hand the amount of anvils we sell a year.
You cannot sharpen the anvil as this will increase the gap between the blade and the angle too much. Turn it around 180 degrees and use but under normal working conditions this should last you at least 3 years.
