Stay away from Haval
We picked up the Haval H6 as a replacement for my Holden Cruze SRi-V. We chose the Haval H6 as we wanted a medium-sized SUV and to keep our spending down.
The Haval H6 has a heap of features for its price range, and the options you get with the Lux model you won’t find anywhere else. But what you also won’t find anywhere is poor customer follow-up and a lack of respect from the team at Haval.
As stated before, we picked the Haval H6 Lux due to its awesomely low price when you compare it to other cars on the market. The features you get wi...Read more
th the Lux model include climate control, leather seating, GPS, moon roof, mood lighting and a spacious boot to name a few. At around $30,000–$35,000, you won’t find these options included with other brands. However, buying such a car at a low price has come with a number of issues, which have included: poor-quality build, parts falling off or damaged at delivery, GPS/radio unit that fails to routinely work, poor follow-up service, and rude staff at Haval head office to name a few. Below I have listed each issue that I have had so far: Windscreen wipers – these go out of control when set to auto (this has now been fixed with a software update) Time on the dash – the time on the dash would not match the time on the radio (This has now been fixed by setting the radio time zone to Canadian time)Similar opinion? Any other Haval H6 owners with feedback on their experience? Yesterday I noticed a couple in a car park coming back to their Haval H6 Lux and asked them what they thought of it. They were happy to chat about their Haval, said they bought it a couple month ago and enjoyed the many features, the look, especially the interior and the only thing they might change is not to have bought it in black. It pays to shop and research, certainly from dealership to head office ought to be on their best behavior, the Australian market it flush with choice A good reputation is hard to get and easy to lose and these early days are critical for Haval (and the other Chinese brands) to make their mark.

I test drove the H6 and in the test drive, was pretty impressed. I’ve owned mostly European cars and I had test driven the very nice Skoda Yetti the day before. I then test drove the H2 Lux and again was impressed, especially for what you were getting for your dollar. So impressed in fact, that we bought silver H2 Lux. We’ve had it for two years now and it has performed faultlessly. We are very happy and find it very comfortable on a long trip. A few months after buying it, was pleasing to see the H2 was awarded a 5 Star ANCAP safety rating. Hope they get traction in the Aus market, I think they deserve to.
