Fantastic and quiet.
The car is great, it speeds up quickly but is very quiet. The legroom is great and the dashboard is quite large. A tank of petrol easily outlasts a busy week of driving. The only downside is that its a bit too wide. However, the pros most definitely outweigh the cons!

Lemon
Noisy drive
Faulty dash and seats. Made a buzzing a craky sound. Proven to exist but never fixed. Was treated like garbage
Very poor service from Westside Honda and Honda Australia.
Car was a dream purchase that turned into a nightmare.
Was fairly economical and looked great
Shame...
Buyer Beware

Love this car
We looked at several different models before settling on the HR-V. Definitely the nicest drive of all similar sized cars but doesn't feel ridiculously large to drive. When driving you feel like you're driving a normal car, not a massive truck which some other cars feel like. Really roomy for a family of 4. Only issue is you can only put 2 car seats in the back and there isnt enough room to sit a 3rd person between the seats as the car is too narrow. The cameras were a new feature from our old car but really something you cant live without, its so handy.

Love my new car!
Spent a fair bit of time researching a new car and settled on the Honda hrv based on reviews and price. Couldn't have been happy with the purchase, it is a smooth economical drive with great handling that makes driving fun.
Plenty of leg room and a great internal lay out mean I can fit a pram, shopping, pet crate, everything really with no problems at all. The heater works fast in the winter and the Ac works fast in the summer, what more could you want.
Costs very little to run, perfect new mum car, we have recommended it and two extended family Members have purchased based on our happiness.

New car
We bought the Honda HRV to replace a new Honda City. The car is so easy to get in and out off. Very good 3 way reversing camera with parking sensors. Very comfortable heated leather seats. Plenty of cup holders. The car has a very good turning circle so is good for around town or on a long drive with a very good drivers position.

Great car..
I have just invested in a Honda HRV.. well what a pleasure to drive ! If you're looking for a small / medium size SUV, this is perfect . This car is comparatively priced compared with other cars in its class, but offers the same, plus more features . The interior design is very comfortable, and has an array of different ways you can move the back seats to suit your needs. It would suit a Variety of people.. and is deceptively roomy. I love the safety features, with reverse sensors / camera, plus Left lane camera as well . Features are too numerous to name in a review, but I'd definitely say if your looking to buy a new car, this is one to look into ..

This car is perfect for a family of 5.
The Honda HRV is a great buy in any of the range. I chose the luxury model for the added extras of black and silver tone mag wheels, the panoramic sunroof, leather interior with heated front seats, climate control air conditioning and forward and rear camera with a beeping signal when an object is getting closer. This makes getting into tight spots a breeze, not to mention safe when reversing so as not to injure someone or and animal. The 5 star ANCAP rating also gives the driver and passengers a very safe ride.
The Honda HRV also has 'magic'...Read more

POOR GPS navigation system - otherwise a good car.
The car is roomy inside and love the flexible seating arrangement which allows you to carry a whole array of goodies. HOWEVER, I agree with some of the other comments. Extremely poor GPS system using a third party app called SYGIC which is so clunky and hard to use. I have used apple system in Hyundai which is far easier to use. NO excuse Honda - for such a poor system. Absolutely no excuse when some of your other models have better GPS systems. The other irritant is that the reversing cameral does not have sound. Again, given that this is in other competitor models in the same price range - poor form.

HR-VTi Excellent Choice for us
Driving- purchased last August, added extra floor mats.boot matt and dark grey duco, otherwise a standard vehicle. Things we had to consider; spacious rear seating for three teenagers, enough boot room for extra luggage storage, good mileage and good vision for driver. Already own a Mercedes sedan E320 so the HR=Vi is for my wife basically except I love driving it too. Compared it with RV4, Mazda CX3 hatch...RAV too dear for us, Mazda not enough rear room for teenagers- bit cramped, and more boot space in HR-Vi-even though about $1000 more, the...Read more
HR-Vi was better value. Driving in city gives 9.4 Lt per 100k's whereas the Mercedes E320 turns in 14.5 lt per 100 k's. Poor comparison so the Honda is our town car. Also, the Honda has a rear camera and the Mazda did not. I inflated the tyres with nitrogen at a Bridgestone dealership for $5.50 a tyre. It now gives a better mileage as the tyres reduce weight, give longer tyre life and only needs inflation checks every 6 months and its free to get them re-inflated. Seating is excellent and the trim is professional. Vision is excellent. My only real complaint to Honda is to go back to round instrument round buttons and do away with the touch screens system which can be distracting when driving, even dangerous so I would suggest, do NOT adjust when under way. All in all, great value for money, and a 5 year warranty to boot makes this vehicle a very good purchase. But buy a Garmin GPS and you have everything you need! Have now run up 5800 k's and done one long country trip to Cowra and return for two of us- very very happy February 3rd 2017 Update: HONDA HR -VTi A couple of things which Honda needs to check for next model revamp- the gear indicator needs backlighting so it can be seen at night where the gear is situated in the gear lever. Rear hatch door could do with a little more uplift on the door lift struts. On the plus side, a very well put together vehicle, comfortable and a sprightly engine, amazingly versatile with the transmission set up One last thing, after nearly three years we would suggest that the petrol bowser sign on the instrument panel should show the hose of the left side of the bowser sign to indicate that the petrol filling is on the left side of the vehicle- currently it shows right hand side which is incorrect !2 comments

Pretty good!
Driving experience is pretty good. Noise isn't loud and suspension is ok as long as you're not driving it for over 2 hours. Interior includes comfy seats and a screen with a rear camera. Bluetooth is included etc. Legroom is great and a dashboard is included. 100% relliable so far and running costs are standard. Pretty bad.

So you want to use GPS navigation?
In keeping with trying to keep the sticker price down, Honda has pushed costs onto the buyer on the HR-V that it should have picked up. My daughter bought a new 2016 HR-V and was told by the (let's say ignorant rather than fibbing) salesperson that she could run her mobile phone GPS on the Honda's head unit.
Well, this is true if the buyer has a smartphone that runs Mirrorlink 1.1 (she does NOT and it cannot be downloaded) and is willing to fork out another AUD120 (€79.99) for the Sygic app. Why? The new Honda Accord runs a head unit that can...Read more

Honda HR-V
I have to say that being a Holden and Mazda owner in the past, Honda has surprised me. We bought the ex demo from Honda dealership and i have to say that i just love my car. So easy to drive and has alot of space for my kids. Love the reverse camera (my first car with reverse camera) and absolutely no issues with this car at all. Did the yearly services on time. And it hasnt been in the shop at all for any reasons. Its a great little SUV between a hatch back and full SUV .. i just love it. Runs very fuel efficient, i just run around town for errands, school runs and all that other stuff that families do and my fuel tank will last almost 2 weeks without needing to get more. Love Love.

Great Car, but no GPS in this day and age is just silly
I bought this car as i love Hondas and i have had 2 Other Honda Civics.
I took the car to a dealer in Rosebury for my first service, they informed me of an oil leak that will take 2 days to fix.
This actually took 2 weeks, i complained so much to Honda but all they could offer was extended warranty, still it's better than nothing.
Not having a native GPS in this car is just ludicrous, I spent nearly $200 on the cable kit to use my phone and the Hondalink Application but it was so bad i stopped after 2 attempts.
Now at least Honda learnt it was rubbish and have changed to Sygic, unfortunately even Sygic doesn't work for me as the car doesn't recognise my phone anymore (I haven't changed my phone since i bought the car)

not happy
we bought a brand new hrv in june 2015. it now has 7,000 kms on it. problems started 6 weeks ago when an oil leak was found. local honda dealer took the engine out to repair this leak. i was dreading this, as i thought it would be the start of problems. i was right. the car now has a vibration at low speed, and the auto has stopped working correctly. when the car is cold, the auto just changes up and down through the gears at random. honda australia is being zero help!!!!!! saying this is normal. when i said ok, why didnt it do this for the first 6,500kms, they have no answer.

A nice solid small SUV
A nice, solid little SUV that is great for a small family. Not the best drive in the world, but it ticks the boxes across the board for a good SUV that is a nice value. Solid features, a decent price, almost a 5 star car but it's missing just a couple of little things that make it a 4 star.

Love the HR-V
I have had this car 6 months now and love it. It is roomy inside, takes a double pram (Uppa Baby Vista) and weekly shopping load plus baby bags etc no issues. I have two carseats installed (safe and sound compaq) and could not fit another one across however can take another small adult passenger/ child in the middle.
Negatives: Aircon is very noisy when fan on full.
Positives: spacious, comfortable, easy to handle/ park, great safety features.

Why I will never but a Honda again
The first problem occurred when we were at one dealer where the salesman would not give us a final price until we deposited $2000 with them. This was in Roseberry and as it caused a great deal of concern so we went to another dealer.
This was across the bay at Artemon and we purchased an HRV at the end of October last year.
We are not sure of exact dates but in the second half of December we started our problems. At various times the following occurred:
1. The lights would not switch off. Then I succeeded but my neighbor told me that when he...Read more

Compact SUV - Small outside but roomy inside
We purchased the VTi-L with the modulo sports kit because we liked the sporty look and wanted the sunroof. This car is surprisingly smooth for a 1.8L engine. It lacks high end power but for day to day driving its adequate with average fuel efficiency of 9L/100km (city driving). Engine noise is noticeable during acceleration but not loud. The car is very roomy inside compared to other competitors (Mazda CX3 and Nissan Qashqai). The wife finds the Honda HRV drive very pleasant and loves the additional sensors, cameras, features & integrated techn...Read more

LOVE IT - Best car we have ever had
This is by far the best car we have ever had and we have had a few.
I drive long distances quite a bit and overall handling and drive is superb - great fuel economy (had a Honda Hybrid before this and this is much better).
My partner drives mostly around Sydney and finds it big enough to feel safe yet small enough to park easily and our mothers love it because its easy to get in and out of for older people.
Would recommend highly to people from all demographics and lifestyles.

Hi I’ve purchased a new HRv RS model. This car suffers very badly of front end rattles worse on the drivers side. Handle bumps and Sydney roads well but ripples or waves in the bitumen just drives me crazy. Had back to Honda with dash resets and foamed and skittle plate replaced twice but still has that shitty noise. I’ve asked other drivers with the same model car and they say no! I’ve reported it to Hond Australia, and they say take it back to the dealer. I don’t wish to waste my or the dealers time, can anyone help me here or advise me on what to do. The car is coming up to 20000 in the first 12 months

How do I change, or turn off. the radio whilst the sat nav is on.
3 answers
Before you put the Navigator on make sure you switch it to bluetooth phone first. Then put the navigator on.
I did not ask about the phone; I wrote, "the radio" Thank you
To control your music selection, use the left side steering wheel control.
Up-down is for volume control.
left-right is for station selection when using radio.
Source button is used to select different input sources (radio, USB, Bluetooth.......)
