Broke the second time out of the box
Used this cleaner to clean around my stove top soon after purchasing, it left most of the dirt behind. Second time out of the box, it has short circuited. I. The process of returning it to amazon.
Purchased in November 2021 at Amazon for $50.00.

Don’t buy
Sorry to say it’s not useful to me. There doesn’t seem to be much pressure coming out of it. This is the 2nd time I used it and thought I was new to this and would try again. It wasn’t good enough to clean grout on my shower tiles this time either
Purchased in September 2021 at Godfreys Physical Stores for $79.00.

DO NOT BUY
completely dissatisfied with this product. It simply does not clean and only makes more mess that you then need to clean up! I could have cleaned the whole bathroom with a brush and water in the time it takes to get the machine ready to use and then it just simply does not clean. It is cumbersome, and heavy and truly, just dont buy it. Also beware if you do purchase it from Godfreys they will not stand by this terrible product.

Just awful
Regardless of how much you spend on this item the results are the same. It doesn't work. The element fails after 10+ go's. It leaks everywhere spitting hot water in all directions. It lasts 5 mins and it surprisingly heavy. 5 mins x 10 sessions - 50 mins of steaming time and now ZERO heat. Rubbish product. Hoover lately have had some shockingly designed products. My kitchen steam mop also hoover has been replaced by godfreys 6 times under warranty. save your money and time and find another brand.

Shocking waste of monies
Have only had the product for a couple of weeks and used it twice. It doesn't have any pressure or much heat. I can put my hand under the gun whilst its operating, that shows you how weak the heat and pressure is. Have to keep filling it although it still has water in the tank. Terrible product, am taking it back to Godrey's and asking or demanding my monies back. $300 is a lot of monies for something that does not work. I will say though, I returned the cleaner to Godfrey's at Camperdown and replaced it with another item. The staff were very accommodating and patient as well as understanding.

Hoover steamer 5620
I have found this unit worked once for about 2 minutes and that was it. This unit is just a waste of money. No I am not satisfied with the cleaning power of this steam cleaner. It is easy to use when it works, which is not very often. You have to fill the tank quite a few times, so do not think you are going to clean anything more than 1 ft square at a time.

Bad design even worse instructions.
Not user friendly design, capacity too small. I realise the cap on the unit is for safety to contain the pressue but, it is badly designed and cumbersome to screw on and off, it requires several fills (and waiting for the unit to cool) to do small jobs, getting the cap on/off is tiresome.
Steamers do kill the mould in the grout and few other things do, but you need to scrub it well afterwards. I find the chemical free aspect very appealing, particularly as most cleaning products are environmentally unfriendly and contain bleech, which onl...Read more

Ok but leaks
It leaks and spits a lot of water and I don't know why or if this is normal.
cleans the things I needed but the tools haven't lasted very well and there is no instructions on what to put in the solution tank? The sales person told me not to put any solution in it at all but then what is the point of it.

Great steamer if used properly.
As long as you read and follow the instructions, you should be ok with this steamer.
Only use clean puratap/demineralized water, (NOT tap water otherwise minerals could build up inside the unit)
Keep the switch in the off position unless you are using a chemical.
Expect it to take a while before you can remove the lid after using (this is a safety feature so you don't burn yourself)
This steamer holds 320ml of water so don't expect to steam the whole house with that. I have been using this steamer frequently to mainly clean the grout thr...Read more
oughout my house, I put 300ml in each time, I usually get 10 mins of steaming with that, it then takes about 10 mins for the steamer to cool down enough afterwards to remove the top, I do small areas at a time. if this is not ideal for you, I would suggest paying a few hundred $$$ more for something else that might or might not be better. For me, this steamer is quite good, the power cord is nice and long and it cleans grout like a dream. I recommended this to my mother-in-law, she brought one and she likes it too.Similar opinion? I love my Hoover 5620
I have read all of the reviews and am surprised at most peoples disappointment with the hand steamer. I have used a hand steamer for many years (approx 25 years), the one I used to use was a Sunbeam, and was disappointed that it stopped working, (possibly due to a build up of calcium). However I decided that instead of trying to de-scale the old one I purchased the Hoover 5620 and fell in love with it instantly. I love the fact that you can put cleaning solutions, fragranced oils and the likes in it. This is one thing I couldn't do with my old ...Read more
Sunbeam. Apart from that, because I use it once a week, I find the tank large enough to do the cleaning I need to do, and it works just as well as any other steam cleaner that I have used. I think the trick is not to let your place get a build up of grime. If you get a build up of grime in area's and clean it by hand you would also have to use muscle power and a lot of energy and time to clean it. If you cleaned it as soon as you've used it, then it takes little time. I have black tiles in my bathroom and it shows up the soap scum really quick, I wipe the tiles each morning with vinegar. Vinegar cleans it really easily, then once a week I give it a blast with the steamer and wipe it dry to sanitise it. Vinegar works well on everything. My old Sunbeam, also used to take about 5 minutes to cool down ready to be refilled, but if you turn it off then hold down the button to release the steam, it can cool down faster. I have a household of 5 plus 3 animals so cleaning is important to me. I LOVE MY HOOVER 5620.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Shower Screen Saved!
I know, and agree with so many of your comments above, particularly that it's frustrating to have to wait until the tank cools before it can be opened and refilled, but I am thrilled to finally have pristine clean, clear-glass shower screens and white Aquapanel walls.
My husband is a soap user and fuses to use body wash. I think I have tried every cleaning product under the sun trying to bring the screen and walls back to new condition.
I sprayed the screen and walls with a general bathroom spray cleaner and then used the squeegie attachment,...Read more

Pretty rubbish
No water level indicator and water runs out in less than two minutes. Also it just doesn't work well at removing dirt. Awkward too as the extension hose is too stiff. I wouldn't recommend one.

Disappointed, but will make it work
Had been dreaming of this for sometime, lucky I didnt pay full price. Had expected it to clean my bath/grime, but hours later...it's cleaner, but that's also thanks to bicarb soda and vinegar. I did clean my balcony windows, and I'm impressed, and having read I'm not alone in the comments that 7 mins of cleaning isn't quite enough at a time...it did allow me to multi task and get other things done. Certainly not like on TV or as expected fast and furious clean, but it perhaps will make it easier over the long run. i have it now, will make the most of it, as I doubt Hoover does returns.

BTW - it's now in the bin. It stopped working, and I had to send it to Non-Recycling-Heaven.

I don't think so
Bought this to try to make cleaning before moving in a little less taxing, instead I ended up getting more frustrated. Can't see the water level, steam depletes too quickly, can't open to refill it (yes I'm pushing and turning at the same time) and waiting for it to cool - that's the most frustrating part, I only got 3/4 of one window done. Back to old school cleaning for me.
Compact
Steam depletion is too quick, water tank not big enough.

over before it began
It heats up quickly but it doesnt last long. I bought it to do small jobs but I have to keep refilling it which is a waste of trying to do a small job. Sometimes there is so much steam flying out I cant see what I am doing. And then it has run out of water once again.
The cleanliness of steam and light weight
doesnt last long enough to shift any stains etc. It was only $49 so what do you expect but really. Full price is $99 which I recommend you dont pay. Hoover used to be such a trusted brand....

I agree. I thought because it was Hoover it would be good but no, this is the worst. I am taking mine back. Its just ridiculous to have a steam cleaner actually steam clean for only about 5 or so minutes. I paid full price jeez ......

Hoover 5620 hand held steam cleaner
At a special price of $49 and a 2 year warranty I thought I would try doing my bathroom tiles etc.so purchased this from Godfreys. My 10 minutes the salesmen said I could use turned out to be 7 minutes which was just that too short for effective cleaning. You have to wait till it cools ( around 15 mins) as if you try to loosen the water top to let steam escape, you get burnt. ( Waited 6-7 mins then loosened but got blast of steam). It does heat up quickly though. It was effective on the shower screen glass and was happy with that. Yes, water ...Read more
does pool but a towel from the rail that you were going to wash anyway, wipes that up. Cleaning the wall tiles is alright but the grout cleaner head has to work hard to remove the grout stains. That could be my fault as it has been some time since they were done thoroughly. Overall, for $49 it is OK, but wouldnt want to pay much more. Easy to use. Not too heavy to hold with water in it. Average cleaning job. Runs out of steam too quickly. Only 320 mls water. 7 mins cleaning.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Works Well I like it
I have used a karcher industrial steamer in a hospital setting,,, so very interesting to use this one. I have started a big clean up of the house in readiness to sell, instead of using all the chemicals eg spray and wipe,mr muscle, jiff, i thought $75.00 with a great swag of attachments at godfreys was ok for this machine. Spent another $10.00 on microfibre clothes in bulk pack at bunnings
The instructions are very bad for this machine i have to say!!! They dont tell you that you have to have damp microfibre cloths inconjunction with the ste...Read more

It's going back...
I was told by the salesman that this would clean the tiles and bathroom easily... I asked if I could bring it back if it didn't work, he said I could get a store credit if it didn't.
Waste of time. Tried this product on everything I could find in the house. All I ended up with was a wet mess everywhere.
When I turned the product on and waited for it to heat up I felt that it didn't have enough pressure or heat.
According to Godfreys return policy I can get a refund, I think the salesman better check his policy, heading back in the morning. Very disappointed.
Not enough heat or pressure...

Steamer
You can't see how much water is in the steamer which is frustrating, It is quiet heavy to carry around. I thought about the one on TV but decided to stick a known brand but now I am a bit sorry. The steam doesn't last very long so you have to keep stopping for it to steam up again. I f you thought you were going to clean windows think again. Definitely need an extension cord with it.
It has some good attachments
Too heavy and doesn't do a large area like windows, the cord is short

Would you be able to use on carpets and car interior

Godfrey G.Hoover
Hi Maddi,
Yes you can.
Please keep in mind that this machine will sanitize fabric, to remove marks/stains you would need a carpet shampooer or extraction unit.
Regards,
The Hoover Team
As it doesn’t work well on shower grout I don’t think it will work as you have indicated. It would probably sanitise but wouldn’t clean
