These units are rubbish.

I have 2 of them gathering dust. I had one that worked well, so bought a new one, but that never worked. The retailer conceded it was faulty and replaced it twice (my issue was about NOT being able to use an hdmi cable in the useless unit.) and despite trying it on 5 different televisions (including the retailers) it still wouldnt work.

I have had my HDR 3000-T about 3 years, and for the most part has been ok. But just now all the apps (EG youtube) don't work. They either fail to connect and freeze during connection or display an error message. System says latest updates are installed and factory default re-store didn't work. Any ideas?

I had my Humax for about three years and it started playing up. So I bought a Fetch PVR and it is fantastic.

Our Humax HDR-3000T will not record some shows. We can watch them live so I know there is reception but it will not record. Have problems with channel 12, 72, and SBS 3 all other channels record OK. Plenty of room on the hard drive, I just cannot work out why, it shows it will tape on the guide but does not, if we press record when the show starts it does record so something is wrong. Appreciate your help

Hi Peter, I am a professional programmer so I think that I can sensibly comment. The bums that wrote the Humax firmware are fools I would not keep in my employ for 5 minutes. The damn thing is full of bugs and it seems that you came across one of these. There is more so if this is the only problem you have, enjoy.

Go to Home/Recordings and select the episode you want to delete. You will get a few options including playing again and deleting.
Surprisingly this feature works in the damn device, unlike many other ones.

Thanks Andrew - BUT
I go thru this proceedure to delete an episode and press OK but it doesn't delete it !!!
Sooo frustrating. It will delete whole series but is a nightmare to delete an episode.
I am pressing Ok to delete. Is that correct ?
Cheers,

When I have finished watching a recording I just click the red button on the remote and it asks if I want to delete and I say yes. Otherwise you can get to your Beyonwiz U4 HD via your computer in a browser window and you can delete and move anything you want, or download to your computer desktop if you want to burn to DVD or save in some other way. You can find the Beyonwiz IP address by looking through the menus on it -- it'll be something like http://192.168.0.5 depending on what is on your network. Hope that helps.Beyonwiz also has a forum page.

No the main board has to come from Humax Aus they wont have any and will only try to sell you a refurbished unit. I tried buying a replacement board a few months ago they said the head office UK is not sending any parts, it wont be worth fixing the main board. just remove the hard drive and bin the rest.

Judith_Hall
Judith_Hall

Your first port of call would naturally be your retailer depending on how old it is and if you bought extended warranty insurance on it. If not fixable and you remove the HD you could buy a HD Caddy for a modest price if you wanted to save anything off it. I returned a Humax purchase back to the retailer Harvey Norman within days as it played up too badly and they cheerfully refunded. I bought a Beyonwiz U4 from icetv.com.au instead, and I'm very happy with that. They do a great service at IceTV (been with them for years). They do sell Humax as well, and they might be a source of advice. Easier to program your PVR with IceTV service.

How to I play a usb stick? I have put it in the hdd pressed home went to media files now what

According to Humax site you Insert USB stick into usb port of the Humax 3000T press Media - then a blue button (storage), then select USB (you should perhaps see its file name/title) - then select the file you want to play off the usb and press ok. From personal experience if the usb stick name doesn't show up I would power down, then insert the usb stick, then power up again so that it is recognised. Good luck.

I bought this per yesterday and I am frustrated with it already. I don't think I'm the wrong thing but here are the major problems.1. Recorded programs - when I am watching a recorded program and decide to go back to live TV I cannot go back to the recorded program and continue from the point I stopped at. Worse than this though the is that I can't move pass "play this episode". I am unable play the episode or delete the episod either. It's like it doesn't recognize the remote control. 2. The return button is supposed to return to the last channel watched as well as return to previous screen. I does not go back to previous channel. 3. I cannot scroll through channels using the CH up down feature on the remote. Help. Don't want to take it back this early without exploring how I can get it to work the way I want.

I was a long time user of Beyonwiz DP P2 PVR -- and always managed that product myself. If I had a query I did have the IceTV support person (I have a subscription to IceTV) who was always extremely helpful if there was something I didn't understand. So I was no "beginner" when I bought the Humax, and when I contacted Humax support over my various issues (https://au.humaxdigital.com/support/) and I phoned/talked to someone in Melbourne the only answer I got in the end was to set the machine back to factory defaults which I did and that didn't help, and promptly returned it to Harvey Norman who were gracious in dealing with the matter. I have not yet replaced my PVR, but I am looking at the new Beyonwiz models which are a bit more expensive (but can be bought "bare bones" if you choose to put in HD yourself). The Beyonwiz U4 would be the equivalent of my old DP P2 which served me so well over a number of years. I particularly want a machine that is "Ice-TV friendly" for remote programming from my iPhone. https://beyonwiz.com.au/quad-tuner/

In my opinion the Humax HDR-3000 is a product that was released prematurely. It has the potential to be a good product but it needs much more development. My experience is that once the product begins to malfunction there is no fixing it. I had similar sound dropout problems and the Internet based EPG would not work and so on. After a week of frustration (including phone calls to the manufacturer's tech support) I took it back to the Good Guys (where I purchased it) payed another $150 and swapped it for a Panasonic. In 6 months the Panasonic has had one hiccup - but - it was easily rectified by powering the unit down and turning it back on again. My advice to you is to cut your losses and move to a mature product.

They are a piece of crap, push hard with Humax to get a new replacement, or better still try to get your money back, pester them every day until they do something.
If you can get it to recognise the TV, do a factory reset and hope for the best.

Hi,
I ended up taking this product back it is absolutely rubbish and I ended up exchanging it for a Panasonic brand which is fantastic. I ended up paying another $100 towards it but far more superior. Push to get a refund or exchange it. I am a Technician and tried for a long time to get it to recognise the TV, there is definitely a software problem. Good luck.

Hi Dianne,
You should have received an instruction manual with the Humax HDR-3000T (I did) and you will fine all the instruction for Wi-Fi on page 21.
As you probably didn't get one (or you wouldn't need to ask me), you could try the shop where you bought it or try and get one off the NET.
In the meantime this is the simple and quickest way to do it: -

Hello again Dianne, I am sorry but my first answer was incomplete as it accidently went off to soon.
Anyway this is the complete answer: -
You should have received an instruction manual with the Humax HDR-3000T (I did) and you will fine all the instruction for Wi-Fi on page 21.
As you probably didn't get one (or you wouldn't need to ask me), you could try the shop where you bought it or try and get one off the NET.
In the meantime this is the simple and quickest way to do it.
Network Settings: -
1: Press the HOME button, select SETTINGS and then NETWORK SETTINGS
2: Select Configure WLAN
3: Select the wireless LAN network and press the OK button
4: Press the BACK button to save
Please note that if you choose a locked wireless network you need to enter the password to proceed.
Remember that the network password is case sensitive and cannot contain spaces.
Finally, if you go on the NET type in Humax-Australia and then select the HDR-3000T and it will give you a run down on all the applications it offers. One that I particularly like is that I can gain access from my computer to the recorded program on the PVR and either watch them directly or copy them to my computer for watch when I am away from home.
I hope all this has been a help.

Have been recording TV programs for sometime now and replaying without a problem but about 10 days ago we could not play a single recorded show.
The OK button on the remote does work, batteries are OK and all else functions.
Tried all sorts of things, turned units off, deleted shows until we had nothing left on drive, still will not playback.
We can not think of anything that has changed.
Our unit is a Humax HDR-3000T. Any help?

Hi Daryl,
I'm afraid I can't help you with this problem as I have only had my Humax a few months and it hasn't happened on mine. The only advice is to get on you-tube and google your problem. Failing that send an email to Humax / service and ask them.

I think the last bit of advice would to do a factory reset and see what happens and maybe see if there a firmware update available.

We have an HDR 3000T which is generally very good in its record, playback and app functions BUT constantly 'shudders' when showing normal TV channels ie. the video pauses for a second or two every 30 seconds or so but the audio continues normally. Does NOT occur when playing back the same programs that 'shuddered' live!

I have reset to factory defaults and even tried a signal splitter in case the incoming signal was too strong (suggested by retailer). No improvement. Any other suggestions?

Having an old Samsung Full HD 1920x1080P (50hz to 100hz) LCD TV, i find that the Res is constantly adjusting from the Humax HDR-3000 when FF/RW/skipping/changing through channels and recordings, i tested this on a less than 2 year old TCL LED LCD, and no more adjusting was found, what i think is the Humax is only 1080i/50Hz.
my old Samsung TV is constanly trying to adjust to this 50hz as being 60hz its default... maybe?
