I have seen and asked people towing caravans etc and they said it was fine.I would hate to be paying the fuel bill though.

hi Muck, I have no idea as I have the new 2015 Tuscan, best if you ring any Hyundai service department or closest one to you.

Every 90000km.Timing belt, tensioner, water pump.Best spend the little to do tensioner and water pump while it is apart.I would be checking for a receipt for the first 90000km timing belt service. If not done leave the car alone. If it was done and is now due again, knock 1500 off asking price to cover. Is only just past the 180000km due mark.

Wouldn't have a clue. I gave it serviced every 6 months. Great car.

Just under 5 litres.I do all fluid changes on car and if I leave a around 250-300ml in bottom of bottle it will be at correct level, with enough oil to do a filter change in between oil changes. You will lose this amount only when changing filter and can pour the rest of he bottle into the filter and spin back on.

Can a four cylinder Hyundai Tucson wagon not four wheel drive be taken on beach trips?

2 answers

Rango1

Maybe.I have driven a 1967 Mini and a Suzuki swift on the beach.Of course you need to remember only 2WD- front wheels have traction.Ground clearance is generally ok.Beach conditions play important part.Compacted sand slight bog maybe, but stay away from deeper stuff or driving up sand dunes etc.Be prepared if having a go.Sand ladders/recovery tracks,a spade, tow rope, air compressor are good items to have in car.The 4cyl Tuscon(or even the 6) was not really made for off road driving and you would want to consider your insurance, but we don't have to be bored and not try to be adventurous. All terrain tyres are good too.Keep up speed if you feel you are starting to bog down. That's about all I can suggest.

If you like digging maybe. Just remember unless you have a towbar these vehicles have no rated recovery points.

I am looking at getting a 2009 Tuscon City Elite, and trying tyo figure out if it's going to be more or less fuel efficient than what I have currently? (1999 Ford Falcon AU). I am mostly using it around town, for school run etc...

Hi, i think it may not really make much difference fuel-efficiency wise...given you want to do city runs mostly... But if you are keen on fuel-efficiency...try getting a 2009 Electric hybrid...you'd be amazed at the performance...ensure they haven't done more than 60,000-70,000kms and should be good enough. Thats the best i can say coz i have driven electric hybrids for over 8 yes now and not once did i regret it!! I think a Honda civic hybrid may be your best bet!! Unless you looking for an SUV! Hope this helps...

Visit the Hyundai dealership. They will look up code.Unsure of cost but the expense will probably be absurd to most for a number look up.If you can dig up the original folder/paperwork the code is on a card in there.

You need to pull the stereo out - it is written on it. Not a simple solution, but it's a solution.

The Tuscon V6 is rated at 1500kg, the 4cyl is 600kg. Compared to the Rav 4 it would depend on the series of Rav4

Is it manual or auto. How many km.I changed the auto trans fluid recently(the transfer method)-out the cooler hose that runs to the radiator and in thru the filler tube at the same time while engine runs and does the work.Runs like a completely different machine.Beautiful smooth changes and easy to slide the shifter.Valvoline fully synthetic at supersheap auto-think it called "max"-for cars 100,00km plus.$99.00 for 8 litres.Ha Ha $99.00.Check YouTube for details on fluid change.Mine was jet black but now clear/clean red still at 151,000km.More power to believe it or not.

How can I improve the fuel consumption?

38-40psi in tyres(sounds high when door sticker says 32 but any reputable tyre seller will tell you the same for 235/60/16.95 octane fuel for the cleaning action of fuel,i NEVER use regular,i work for caltex, regular FULLY synthetic oil changes, regular oil/air filter changes(these are inexpensive),half foot acceleration,(you'll know what i mean with the 2.7lt).Injector cleaner maybe sometimes.Listen to the car and take notice of auto gear changes, use the selectronic to change gears too to stop lag or constant gear changes of the box.(ie when im in 80km/hr zone stop/start driving i might leave it in 3rd until revs are higher and 4th is needed.is a heavy car for the motor,i bought because of its reliability mainly.

Mussel46

38-40 PSI in tyres(235/60 16).95 octane fuel.regular full synthetic oil changes, air filter(inexpensive)but most importantly driving style.Listen to your engine(sounds obvious),half pedal for accelleration is best, full pedal to the floor not sensible, heavy car for a 129kw motor,I also use manual changes, for example if I'm in an 80km/hr zone with stop start driving i might leave it in 3rd and change up when needed so the box isnt constantly changing gears. There's not much else you can do,i usually manage around 8.7lt/100km,at a constant 100km hr.Pretty poor really but i bought the car for reliability after lots of research and didn't really pay attention to fuel usage. Its a good design but a poor one also,im sure there are probably after market products that may help(K&N filter etc)but the diff to me would be too slight to bother.

Mussel46

Runs beautifully on United fuels e10(10% ethanol)is 95 octane only at United.A lot more power, cleaner burn and at least 10c/litre cheaper than regular 95.Better economy, cleaner burn, better economy.Drives like it was meant to on this fuel which is compatible with the V6 Tuscon. If you can find this fuel(United)give it a try!!!

Hey, sorry I can't be any help as we traded it in at around 25,000km

dogbert

Mate, honestly I wouldn't know. I traded them in when they were 80,000km. Here in WA, cars hold their value best when traded before 100,000 and less than 4 years. But at 80,000 they were still runnning well. I was unhappy with my dealership as they would always flag the warranty clause and I was under threat to lose my warranty, so I decided to trade the car in for something else.

Have 151,000km on the v6 07 Tuscon. No issues with the drivetrain.Inspect when you want to.Slide on under, have a look around, get rid of any filth/residue build up.I changed the rear diff gear oil recently but it was still clean/clear.Listen out for any clunks/irregular noises.
