No beef with ING Banking Products, but their Insurance is pretty ordinary.
I signed up to ING Insurance because my mortgage, super and bank accounts are all with them. Naturally I assumed it would be more convenient to have it all under the same roof. This couldn't be further from the truth. They are ING in name only as none of the details of my previous accounts carried over. The biggest inconvenience was when they continuously weren't able to debit money from my offset account (with them) which meant I had to call their contact centre to make the payment. Due to the corona virus, this is a massive inconvenience and ...Read more
my insurance ended up lapsing. There's no other way to make the payment if you miss or for whatever reason, they can't take the money. Completely unacceptable in this day and age. I went a whole long weekend without Insurance. Jumped at every bump in the night! In the end I got sick of it and went somewhere else with an online payment processing facility.Similar opinion? Seemed a good deal at first...
I have been an ING banking customer for years, so when I received an email regarding 15% off contents insurance, and given my contents was up for renewal, I thought ‘great’.
I received my renewal letter from my current insurer (Youi) for $720 odd. I had a look at ING, and went through the online quote process. A few clicks and questions and for the same amount, it stated $410. I thought this was great.
After clicking through to finalise the offer, I realised that this price does not include any accidental damage claims, does not cover jewel...Read more
lery or any items away from home. Obviously these are all optional extras. As I have these with my Youi insurance, I added them to my ING quote. Very quickly, the prices jumped beyond what Youi had offered. To make matters worse, ING contents away from home would only cover upto $5000, and excludes mobile phones, some photography equipment and laptops. All your contents are covered by Youi. Same for jewellery - you can only get paid out maximum $1000 unless he item is individually listed, which then shoots the price through the roof. With my current insurer Youi, there are no limits, as long as you list the items of value. It has no bearing on your premium as it is factored into your sum insured. After calling Youi, they adjusted my quote down to $599, which I happily accepted, given that the deal with ING isn’t what it seemed.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

LandLoard Insurance:Only value for money when u dont make a claim
I have an investment property insured with Ing landloard insurance. They pretty good in direct debiting. My property was vandalised and someone broke the window pane. I made a claim of 650$ with ING based on the repairs cost. I have to pay excess fee of 500$ which is still fine. My claim was processed but amazingly from subsequent months my monthly premium got bumped up by 30$ just because I made a claim. So ING still made money out of my situation apart from monthly direct debiting.

ING Insurance Worst of The Worst
After having home and contents insurance, they have now decided they can no longer cover us. We no longer fall into the area they which to cover. Taking my money every month was not an issue. Now I have 2 weeks to find another company. I feel they only want to take your money with no support. Phoned to make a claim over 12 months ago, and was told that it was not worth the paperwork. To just go and buy another TV. Really??

Unhappy
Policy wording is contradictory. Tried to claim on a laptop I dropped causing screen damage. I had listed it as specified. I also have accidental damage. Specified items wording says that items are covered up to sum insured. Accidental Damage specifically states computer glass is covered. When I tried to claim I was told I didn't have a claim as laptops are not covered and cant be covered. Funny no one mentioned that when I paid the extra premium to have my 3 laptops specified. I am almost glad I dropped it so early in my policy so I know that I am not covered for what I thought I was. Very disappointing especially considering I love their banking.

Amazing customer service
The sales lady was so nice when I called to buy my insurance. Her name was Christine or Chrystal I think but they’re here in Brisbane! it was good to talk to someone local. I asked a lot of questions since I had no idea what to do but she explained everything. I had a hard time with my previous company understanding how to spell my name let alone explaining anything. I hope they’re as good if I have to claim.

Policy cancelled after making two claims
After making two claims in the past year - one for storm damage and one for theft after a break and enter - and having them settled without any dispute or problem, ING declined to allow us to renew because our 'insurance risk falls outside our acceptable criteria.' After speaking with customer services they confirmed the underwriter was unwilling to cover because of these claims so can only assume from this that ING (Auto & General) only like insuring people who do not make claims. Beware.

Questions asked & answered....great 'smiley type' attitude, over the phone
Been with ING 3 years.
Called this morning. Got Simone on the phone, who fixed an issue with 2018-19 policy details & answered questions about possible hail damage to solar panels & internal flex hose possible failures, I've been reading about of late..
Couldn't have been a more pleasant person.
I just hope should we ever need to make a claim, we are met with a similar cordial attitude.

Knocked back a legitimate claim
We have both our home and contents insurance with ING. We’ve recently had a Flexi-hose burst in our bathroom and had to make an “escape of liquid” claim. After sending out an assessor who agreed the damage was caused by the Flexi-hose, I was dishonestly convinced to allow another assessor to review the claim nearly 2 months after the fact. He was of the opinion the damage was caused by a leaking shower however the shower hadn’t been used in over 12 months so there is no way this could have caused fresh damage. Obviously there is no way we can p...Read more
rove the shower hadn’t been used. ING were deliberately deceptive and acted extremely slowly, stalling at every step. In the end they have knocked back a legitimate claim and there is nothing we can do about it. In regards to the contents claim (related to the same event) they were also very shady. The process is the contents assessor provides a list of items that are to be written off, then I had to provide replacement costs and receipts to be approved by the insurance company. After I submitted a tediously detailed list, providing screen shots of pricing (as they requested) they came back with a “fair and reasonable replacement cost” of nearly 50% of the actual replacement cost. After going back and forward wasting more time they finally agreed the original pricing I had submitted was accurate and they paid it out. The way they conduct business is preditory and unethical. Needless to say we’re not renewing with INGSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Talked to an Australian in Australia!
I got more dollar coverage for cheaper than another leading brand. I had been with the others forever, and the lifetime 'no claim' was rubbish - almost no discount, on an expensive policy.
ING were way cheaper for over $200,000 more coverage. Coverage options were good, plentiful, and explained quickly and clearly.
Updates are made quickly, pay the difference, no 'cancel and wait for the cheque, and we start another' rubbish, like the 'insurance giant' we were with.
I had a kerfuffle with a loan, they wanted corrected insurance docs, ...Read more
I rang ING, had the details corrected within five minutes and new documents emailed within another five. Sorted - INSTANTLY. These guys are great, I hope their claims process is as good, but hopefully we never claim, like always!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Could you advise what it cost for content insurance for 70,000 dollars please.

Hi I am not ING representative but my experience with them wasn’t good. When I raised an insurance claim with them, my profile was “reviewed” following month with an increase of 30$ per month in my premiums
