Why would you want to humidify a hot room? That would only make it more uncomfortable. As for the cooling, it simply acts as a crude forced heat exchanger between the hot air and the cold water, taking a little extra heat from the incoming air to provide the latent heat for evaporation. As the water heats up the unit becomes increasingly less effective, until more chilled water has to be added. Who do you think pays the cost of chilling the water in the fridge?

Tatenda. If you haven't bought one of these coolers yet, don't!! Their a waste of $$$$ & are JUNK ok? If U have bought one, on a hot day, its always best to keep windows closed anyway as the hot air fills your house.

I think you need some ventilation but either way the InstaChill wont actually make much difference

All evaporative coolers require an open window otherwise the humidity would be worse than the heat. Having said that I could have bought a good fan for half the price and just as effective.

I dont know but maybe also fair go would be a good place to start also consumer magazine who will actually scientifically test it

Hi Patt. No I have not been to Consumer Affairs. This product is an absolute joke! I am still waiting for my original deposit refund. Trouble is it cost me nearly $200 to send these useless things back. Unfortunately I have spent the last year fighting for refunds for trips booked from last year. I have lost my fight! I hope you go to them and get a result. They don’t deserve to be in business in this country. These evaporative units are useless, noisy and poorly built rubbish! Good luck.

We had a bonair evaporative cooler in the 1970's and 1980's. It was like a big fan and needed to be put in front of an open window to let the hotter air out. Worked ok for a what it was, but humid days was useless except as a window sized blower. can put up with that when younger but at 70 need a proper aircon with a motor. We have a split system now which is quiet and takes the humidity out of the air as well as cooling. however 35 degree days will always be more of a challenge because the temp. setting lower only means that the unit is always working, while the 28degree days the unitswitches off when the temp is reached and then switches back on when it warms up.
I am only on this site to check out the system for an older friend .....she will definitely NOT BUY...can get from Harvey Norman at $399 for anyone foolish enough to buy.

Sending generic replies to un-satisfied customers is not the correct way to do business. Good outcomes cannot be achieved this way ok? You can see how shocking the feedback is for these so called cooling units. Where is the companies conscience / morality & credibility? Appears there isn't any & they don't really care less & are blatantly turning a blind eye. How can you rip people off so badly & take this type of attitude? If you were proud of your product you'd only be to happy to help, so where is the fairness? There isn't any. To force un - happy, unsatisfied customers ( through no fault of their own ) except believe your false advertisement when experiencing hot / humid weather to send the unit back before you'll refund & pay close to $200 to do so is truly a crime. I will be contacting Dept of Fair Trading & lodging a complaint as by law this whole situation sux & is WRONG. Many people are doing it tuff & you guys know how vulnerable & naïve people can be when experiencing hot summers. Advertising schools teach all the tricks of the dirty trade & how to hock people in. If I owned this company I wouldn't be able to sleep at night as I would feel so guilty. I bet these junkie units are made up for next to nothing, hence the HUGE profits they must be making is appalling. Meanwhile, your CEO's are probably living it up out on the Caribbean on their multi - million $$$$$ yachts & laughing at unhappy customers like me who at the end of the day are funding their lifestyle. The one thing I can live with though is that one day the universe will make things right & justice will prevail. Shame on your company. Seems like denial is bliss!!!! What goes around comes around eventually. Thanks for ripping me & many more people off!!!

Unfortunately there is no company name on the product and no service number to call for product support. Once this product is purchased you are on your own

Brent you have been conned like the others dont bother to download the manual take the unit to the dump as the unit is garbage beyond your belief cheers

Put that garbage u bought at a ridiculous price in the kids bedroom but don't expect them to sleep with the noise it makes best of luck

Hi this query relates to order #11474110 delivered on 6 October 2020. However we only started to use the Insta chill at the end of December as it hasn’t been all that hot in Victoria to date. we purchased 2x Insta chill as part of a special deal. While one is working fine the other is not. It worked once but hasn’t worked since. We turn it on but fan doesn’t work (on either 3levels) and when we select Cool function, we hear a hum sound but no cool air comes out. We did get it to work a second time (on a random day) but the fan function worked at half the spee of the other Insta chil we have. We turned it off as it wasn’t effective and it has not worked since. We have checked everything is in place and looked up manuals and videos online for assistance. However we just can’t get it to work. It’s def a faulty product as the other Insta chill is working fine. Can you please let us know what we need to do next please. Angela always check the reviews before u buy from tv shop as their products are overpriced n garbage i got caught on the instal chill which is now in landfill where it belongs cheers

Hello Anne S, I found that the cool button flashed and then went off when there wasn't enough water. I was so dissatisfied with the product due to false advertising . I also found it to be very noisy. Hopes this helps.
