iStoreiStore
Hi Alan, thanks for the question! The iStore can operate in the cold conditions of Hobart, Glen Morris reviewed the iStore and said, "At Mt Toolebewong at 700 meters of altitude it gets pretty cold, we had 10cm of snow. The iStore worked just fine we had plenty of hot water.”

Kellyasked
Does this system require it's own power source direct from the meter box or can it be connected/plugged in to an existing external power point?
Thanks in advance
1 answer
iStoreiStore
Hi Kelly,
The iStore is power consumption is extremely low compared to traditional hot water systems. However, some changes in the latest edition of the Australian Standards Wiring Rules came into effect 1 January 2022. These changes require electrical and compressor driven hot water appliances to be installed on a dedicated circuit with a Residual Current Device (RCD) installed. A lockable Isolation Switch shall also be installed at the iStore, these requirements are standard everyday works for licenced electricians and readily available across Australia.
Kind regards,
iStore

Liam.Sasked
Hi, does This unit have a timer so I can program it to work only during daylight hours?
1 answer
iStoreiStore
Hi Liam,
Yes the iStore does have two built-in timers that are completely programmable by the home owner, combine those with our solar optimized mode and this will be the cheapest way to heat your water FREE.
The iStore draws a tiny 1kw while heating and most modern rooftop solar PV systems can easily produce that amount spare.

Does it uses solar energy or only thermal energy?
What the cost and time for installatio?
2 answers
You can program it to run only during your solar production hours. So it uses the excess power to heat up the water during the day.
