Watch out for the fuel estimate for distance!!
Distance on remaining fuel 130km. Actual travel distance 90km.
What is really annoying is that the estimated remaining distance cuts out at around 100km and replaced with 'low fuel'. When you see 'low fuel' you have less than 80km.

You will not find a better car for the same $
Bought this car in March 2014 and have done 42,500km (of which 32,000 was a lap around Australia).
We towed a van weighing 2.5-2.75t, and averaged 14.25 to 15.25L per 100km (travelling 85-90km per hour when towing).
Not towing, general use around town, is around 8.5 to 9.5L per 100 km.
It is a very capable vehicle... we went 4WD'ing on our lap of Australia to many places... Kakadu, Kimberleys, Bungle Bungles, Steep Point... as a stock standard vehicle (including tyres) it handled well.
Yes, it has had three recalls but all very minor - better to be safe than sorry.

I have not heard any seat belt banging and all of the technology works as it should. Only negatives are that the roof rails sometimes sing/whistle at speeds over 110 and fuel tank could be larger (which is now available although this may reduce rear ground clearance). We paid $48,00 drive away (including tow bar and rubber mats). As an all round vehicle, buy. one, you won't be disappointed.

Isuzu MU-X 2015
Great vehicle I had no need to put any aftermarket navman in the one that came with the vehicle was easy to use without reading the instructions. The vehicle is everything its say it is no more no less, fuel consumption about 1000 km on a tank that is great, handles great on the road and you can feel her rugged background when on dirt road. Thea seat height adjustment is great and allows for good viability. Don't let this vehicle looks fool you she is a full on 4X4 don't take my word for it go test drive one.

solid car
For starters the bluetooth audio streaming and phone works perfectly on my Android and iPhone. Which in the reviews and other people saying it doesn't have it are completely incapable of using technology.
I've had no noises or banging of seatbelts, and I have had a seatbelt recall and got the 55 off my service.
With no lift and stock tyres ive been on some soft sand dunes incline and declines and it handles and performed perfectly. Using caltex vortex diesel sitting on 110 I got 770km out of a big highway run and on normal use 700 is a usual...Read more

Fuel consumption
Had my MUX for 7 months (11,000 km's) and agree the lack of roof rack is very annoying. I have noticed that the indicated fuel consumption on the Dash shows 8.9ltr/100km however the true consumption (measuring how much I put in vs km's travelled) is closer to 10lt/100km. I have calculated this on 6 separate occasions and have come up with 10 ltrs give or take 0.1 difference each time. Still a lot less than other comparable cars.
External Temperature indicator is also 3 Deg higher than true. Overall these are minor details, a bit of body role o...Read more

Radio/hands free
I do not know if this is common, but my MU-X, whenever I go under High Tension Power lines, I get nothing but static on the AM band. Isuzu do not appear interested in it. Their explanation is, "sometimes this happens".
I didn't have this issue with my 2009 D-Max.
I agree with all the comments regarding the Bluetooth and it uselessness. I also had to get Isuzu to upgrade the Bluetooth microphone. That also was useless.
Anyone any thoughts on the AM band static?

Perfect tow vehicle
Awesome car, as a diesel mechanic with a long history of Isuzu experience I can not recommend this vehicle enough. 7.5 litres per 100klm diesel usage unloaded, that is better than a Toyota Corolla and I can tow 3 ton
Shock absorbers could have been a bit heavier but if you drive at the speed limit it isn't an issue.
There was a recall on a seatbelt bolt in the rear of the vehicle, repaired no problems and was given a voucher for $55 to spend in their spares/accessory shop, totally awesome, if Holden and Ford had this level of customer service they be in a better position than they are in now.
Be advised though, to look after the injection system

IRRITATING KNOCKS
I have now had my Isuzu MUX for about three weeks. Generally I am very happy, but there were some irritating knocks that I could not a first trace. I subsequently found these were coming from the front and rear passenger seat belts. The buckles/catches on the belts are able to slide down the belt when not in use and as a consequence swing back and forth when driving and bang against the inside trim. This would be infuriating is used off road as they would band continuously. I now clip the front seat belt when no passenger carried. I have found ...Read more
that I can push the buckle right up on the rear seats and jam the buckle. But this is not a good fix. The small restraining buttons fitted to the belts to stop them sliding right down are too far down which allows the buckles to strike. Although there are roof bars, there is no rack on the market that currently fit these. This is not obvious when you buy the vehicle, and of course the salesman doesn't tell you. The vehicle has a quality feel about it although the carpet is cut to the minimum and there is a gap, on the drivers side at least, between edge of carpet and inside trim. The doors shut with a very nice positive "clunk". At $49,990 DA the price is about $10K less than the Pajero, but has almost as many fitted extras as that model, AND the rear hatch can be lifted with a trailer/caravan attached. The steering takes a bit of getting used to because of over-steer and rear vision is not as good as the Pajero. All in All a very nice, comfortable SUV. Unfortunately NO FIXED PRICE SERVICE!!! Feel of a quality build. Seat belts able to swing around and bang when driving. Roof bars cannot take current racks.3 comments
A now glaring problem has arisen that at first I did not realise. The "Hands Free" bluetooth

en press the Call on-screen button. This is all done while driving, looking down at the screen and one hand off the wheel. To make a call using the in-built system is dangerous and I believe illegal as it is no different to using a mobile phone. A major disappointment to me and I now regret my purchase. I tow a caravan and there is No Way I would use the system while towing. It's an accident waiting to happen. I am awaiting a response from Isuzu to my question about calling it "Hands Free" when it is patently NOT!Yet another problem with the Isuzu MUX-T. r edge slopes inward, after market transverse roof bars, such as Rhino Rack cannot be clamped to them. I have asked Isuzu if they manufacture a roof bar that does fit. They have not responded. So I am thinking the answer is NO. With no roof rack travelling outback is very restricted because of the inability to carry stuff, tents, water etc, outside the vehicle is very limiting.Similar opinion?
