Excellent Utility
Purpose
I am a small business owner and use utility for daily city driving and carrying loads..it's very good when you own a small business and use it as a utility vehicle for carrying people and loads around town. I drove the vehicle for 13 months, put about 18,000km with hundreds of hours inside the traffic..
Location
I use my utility in Thailand where it rains (pours for months) and has bad road most of time..200-300mm flood during rain season in Bangkok..also very bad traffic, a lot of stops and go.

fuel efficient around town, I get good 800+ km full tank all the time 2. can carry loads and passengers without hassle, 3rd seat is folded and carry loads most of time 3. drives good in rain and flooded streets

Perfect, Perfect, Perfect!!!
Very good car! A widely anticipated vehicle all around the world, robust diesel engine, perfect design, good features and most of all it's an ISUZU. The car is a very tough SUV and is the best option for those who are looking on buying a reliable SUV. Better priced than a Prado but could do with more standard features like side steps, chrome grill etc.. Excellent car Isuzu!

Automatic Shudder
Can anyone advise what is wrong with my 1015 DMAX Ute. On take off and stopping there is a "shudder" It seems to run rough and I am very unhappy. The vehicle has done 17000 km and it has been going on since 15000. The dealer has acknowledged the problem and advised they are working on repairing the fault. Be interested if anyone else has had a problem. I am in Western Australia.

Reliable, economical and roomy 4WD
My Isuzu MU-X LSU 4WD meets all of my driving requirements. It can go anywhere in the remote outback, because it has 230mm ground clearance - an essential to avoid damage. It has hill-ascent and hill-descent control for those very steep mountain grades, and full underneath steel body protection. Transfer gearing in high and low range for those steep grades. High gear range can be selected at up to 100 km/h. Economy wise, I always average around 7.8 kp/100 litres, not going over 100kp/h. This gives a good range based on a 65 litre fuel tank. My ...Read more
only criticism is that the fuel tank could be bigger in capacity. The interior is fine in layout ecetera. With all comfortable seats folded down, my wife and I have slept in the Isuzu many times, though a bit tight between the wheel arches (I am 1.80m tall.) I guess like most vehicles being serviced at dealerships, the major servicing schedules 40,000 kms. (at $1,095), can put a whole in the pocket! However, a good job done is re-assuring for longevity. The timing belt is steel and is said to last for 500,000 kms. All in all I am very happy with my Isuzu, and with 42,000 kms. now on the clock, I have not had any problems. I totally recommend this 4WD - why pay 10's of thousands more for other established 4WD's?Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

They got it right.
Buying a new car is always a stressful time. I decided on an Isuzu MU-X LST after a lot of research looking for a 4x4 that could pull a decent caravan, take me to the out of the way fishing spots that require a real 4x4, was economical to run and wouldn't cost an arm and a leg to buy.
I have now completed about 4000kms including all types of driving and couldn't be happier. I read reviews that said it was down on power yet I find mine to have more than enough and I don't mess around on the road. I also read that the brakes were weak, wrong,...Read more
they are excellent, the turning circle is too big, wrong, it turns inside many smaller cars, the lights are poor, wrong, they are better than any I have had on previous cars. They say you can't please all the people all the time but I think Isuzu have done enough with the MU-X to please most of the people most of the time.Similar opinion? Best 4wd i ever had
After 3 month usage, down with 4000km on odo and I could not be happier.
Put a set of D697 AT tyre on, and it works awesome.
7L on highway, 9L around town is great fuel economy. Did some tracks in high country VIC, it was so capable when climbing hills.
Something down side, light is not that bright when it getting dark, and great fuel economy but fuel tank is small.
Every tank when I doing refuel is finish around 54L, even the d max get 76L fuel tank, may get a 120L aftermarket long range tank in the future.
All in all, its a very good 4wd, love my little truck, and great job, ISUZU

Great family car
Great family car. We have had ours for a year. Good fuel economy on local and long distance trips. Is very comfortable. Our child loves the inbuilt DVD player. Plenty of room and drives perfectly on the beach. We highly recommend the Isuzu MUX. We are very happy with it and can't fault it.

Error in Fuel Consumption
I've had the LS-T version for 6 months now and can't complain.
I note "Young's" comment of 15 June about the fuel consumption readout on the dash display. I too was initially confused at first glance but then noticed that the gauge measures kilometres per litre NOT litres per 100 kms. Therefore, the more highway running you do, the higher the figure. In Young's case, he was getting 12 kilometres per litre of fuel used, not 12 litres per 100 kms travelled. I'm currently travelling about 9.5kms per litre used around town.
In all, a great car but pity about the Bridgestone Dueler H/T tyres. Woeful!!

Three little pigs
Love my MUX LST, except for three things, which threaten to blow my house down. Isuzu sets the speedo to over read by a full 9 km/h @100 km/h. I have owned, any cars and this one is the worst. I know it is within legal specs based on ADR, but it is very irritating when cars go zooming by and tailgate you simply because you are travelling slower than anybody else. I can understand 2 or 3 km/h, but 9 is just too much. I also wonder if that means the fuel consumption details are wrong too by 9% or if I am being slugged for services 9% too often? ...Read more
The navigation system in my opinion sucks. The maps are very outdated and the satnav does not have the features that other satnavs have. Many of the camera and speed zones are completely wrong and maps are seriously old. The speed cruise is also a problem. When driving on the highway at over 100km/h and touching the brakes to deactivate the speedcruise, the car jolts. It does not happen when you manually cancel the cruise setting. According to the dealership, on all three, the wolf is in charge and there is nothing I can do about it.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Good choice
We have had our mu-x for one month now and we are so happy with our choice, very comfy ride and not at all noisy. Looked at lots of 4x4 before settling on the Isuzu, and we have made the right choice. We have no complaints to date and don't expect to have any in the future.

Great car!
After 6 months of investigation looking for a 7 seater I decided to go with the LS-U.
Comfortable for 6 adults, built like a brick outhouse, fuel consumption is great.
After 3 weeks of driving this car I look forward to many more years.
A little disappointed with the audio system.

Best Vehicle for price on the market
Done 30,000km's and the Isuzu mux is the best car I've ever owned.
It is down on power against its rivals but it just does everything effortlessly regardless and returns great fuel consumption.
Isuzu vehicles are some of the most reliable ever built I expect this mu-x to still be going strong long after other brands have made they're way to the wreckers.
Can't recommend this 4bie enough to someone in the market for one.

great drive.
Colin says, about to do the Simpson in mine at the end of May, be an adventure I reckon. Fuel will be a bit of a problem, but can overcome that. I'd go for the bigger fuel tank if it was a decent size, but it only gives you thirty ltrs more, not really worth the money or effort really. I bought this car after a test drive, and was thrilled with the performance. Fuel consumption is something to dream about, 8.2 around the city, my 2007 Pathfinder was doing 12.4 and had started to get mechanical issues after only 16000 KS. My first diesel, and I...Read more
thought I'd get a lot more than that. I bought the Mu x for the reliability, I'll just have to put up with the minor probs, like small tank, no roof rails, ( I could have put some of my fuel up there), second row seats won't fold flat. None of them out there are perfect. I wouldn't; mind betting though that the next model out will be a lot better. Cd stacker eh? All told, a really great buy, I'm wrapped.Similar opinion? - MU-X Series I 4WD 3.0L Diesel LS-U (2013-2016)
- Verified purchase
Simple, strong & reliable
Bought new, 2014 LS-U model. Stepping up from a manual Forester and wanted something with a bit more grunt and bushability for our outback trips. We tow an offroad CT weighing about 1.4 tonnes gross. As others have found the fuel efficiency is good.
The 4WD setup is pretty basic but offroad capability is none the worse for that. I've kept up with other brands of 4WD on the sand and dunes at Robe and across the Simpson. The auto trans is well matched to the motor; manual select works very well except for it automatically dropping to 1st ...Read more
at low speed with the throttle off. It now has 27,000 k's on it. Some seepage from the oil filter housing was detected at a service and fixed under warranty. Otherwise it's been faultless. Starts reliably at sub-zero temperatures with Alpine diesel or an additive. My partner and I have developed an affection for the wagon and we've christened it Mr Burble. The vehicle is priced competitively compared with the Pajero and Prado; it doesn't quite have their refinement nor their list of features but is still plenty capable as a blacktop tourer, tow vehicle and offroader. Isuzu claim that the engine should last 500,000 kms with scheduled servicing. It uses a cam chain rather than belt so that keeps major service costs down. The broad spread of power (peak torque at 1800 - 2800 rpm) makes it a good vehicle for slow offroading. It's understressed for max life - it's only when wanting to overtake at 100+ while towing that I feel the need for more power. The suspension shows where costs have been cut and a replacement kit is advisable if planning on a lot of offroad or dirt road work.2 comments

on the factory fitted D693s in passenger construction. The AutoXtras/ARB 110 l plastic tank has been fitted. Dobinson suspension lift kits have been fitted and proved to be less than brilliant; they had to be changed on the back and twice on the front. There are design and build quality issues. The only continuing irritation is with the lack of a high-load rated recovery point available that works with the model of bullbar fitted. At 80,000 kms the vehicle was found to have a body crack in the engine bay and one in the inner wheel well.

Bonnet Protector
I recently purchased pearl white isuzu mux and had isuzu bonnet protector installed. Within 100km the bonnet protector had caused $1298.00 damage to the vehicle as it scratched through the paint. I intially thought maybe installation issue until l saw my friends mux which had been damaged even more. There protector had been installed at a different dealer. Know l will end up with a new isuzu mux with a resprayed bonnet.
