Comfortable Drive but a Few Niggles
Our Jeep Cherokee Limited KL with the sunroof is nicely appointed and is a very comfortable drive with great leather seats. The V6 engine is powerful enough and I love the hill assist.....no roll back on steep inclines. The stop-start function can be bothersome in school traffic and I really doubt there is a fuel saving benefit associated with it. You really have to think about the wear and tear on the engine etc when it’s constantly stopping and starting; hence I usually turn it off when driving. It would be better if the stop-start functi...Read more
on was off when the car is started and leave it up to the driver to actually turn the stop-start function on if they wanted it on. The heated seats in winter are very welcomed as are the air conditioned seats in summer. The boot space is a good size and I appreciate the full size spare tire in there......I can’t stand space saving tires.....they are not very reassuring if you want to take the car off road or in the countryside where tire dealers are limited. The only bummer with our Jeep is that there have been a few issues with squeaks, rattles and other noises coming from the rear seats and roof, which is quite annoying and is even more frustrating when the service department can’t isolate or fix the issues. And lastly, I still can’t work out what the flappy thing with toggles is that’s hanging off the rear seats in the boot??? It seems pretty useless and gets in the way when I want to load my shopping or the kids’ school bags.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great car and great customer service
This car is 5 stars for comfort and ease of driving. I’m so happy my Jeep. It’s spacious enough for the family and for our dog who rides in the back. We got our from
Berwick Jeep and would totally recommend this place. I knew this was the car for me

Has some issues
The car is comfortable to drive, however, there were annoying squeaks in the car that should not have been present in a $50k car, I persevered for a very long time before I found a mechanic who knew how to resolve the problem. I also have a non functioning 'stop start', I have taken the car for repair twice being told that the computer takes time (2weeks) to adjust once they 'repaired it' and it would be fine, however, it does not work and I'm sick of trying to get it repaired. The car is still under warranty. The tyres are also now needing rep...Read more
lacement, not sure if quality of tyres on the new car were up to scratch. It is a BIG shame because the car is a nice car. June 5th 2018 Update: Look out Jeep owners Whilst I love driving my Jeep......Ouch, look out Jeep buyers my Jeep has a problem with its transmission and gears It started making a fizzing noise. The car is nearly 3 years, old not even out of warranty, thank goodness! Be forewarned and forearmed!! I think the Jeep is a great car but possibly not the best quality workmanship or mechanics.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

I Bought a Lemon
I bought this top of the range Cherokee and it has been nothing but problems. Continual driveline problems where engine / transmission warning light comes on and car goes into limp mode and becomes dangerous and undriveable. Just happened for the 4th time this week and got towed back to dealership. Not happy.... I bought a lemon. This lemon has been back to dealership for around 25-30 days so far for going into limp mode problems.

Excellent touring car on and off road.
Very comfortable, handles well in city traffic and tight carparks. The diesel engine is strong and fuel economy is great, with a range of more than 750km on outback roads and up to 920km on sealed rural roads. The 18inch wheels with 55 profile tyres were a worry, but handle corrugated roads surprisingly well. Off road ability is amazing although the addition of Trailhawk wheels would allow better tyre choices for greasy off road work.
Dashboard layout is good, steering wheel controls work well and phone connection was a breeze compared to my...Read more

Amazing
Purchased my 2015 cherokee limited with extra sunroof in 2016. I had previously had a jeep compass 2013 and what an amazing up grade it was. The leather seatings and the controls. Push start keys. V6 engine is so impeccably smooth. Cant fault the car. Extra points for the heated seatings.

Great car but needs some tweaking
I bought my Jeep in September 2014. It is the Limited Edition fully loaded with all the goodies. I had a Ford Territory before that which I loved. The new design of the Jeep Cherokee is what really caught my eye and once I sat in one and drove it I was sold! I am super happy with the car except it is quite thirsty (but now comes in Diesel). My Territory was quite thirsty and I was told I would get all this great mileage etc. from the Jeep sales guy. This wasn't the case. Also the twice yearly servicing is disappointing and a rort in my opinion....Read more
You get 6 years extended warranty but you have to still have it serviced twice a year for 3 extra years which is just another ploy to get your money. I used to have my Territory service once a year at Ford for around $230. So twice a year at $300-$400 a go is just ridiculous. I've driven 26,000km in 2.5 years so the hefty servicing is just not justifiable. Anyhow that's JEEP but I believe they are now offering better deals on servicing of new cars. About time they got with the programme. To late for me though. I've also had 3 recall notices on it which is a pain having to take it in to get work done and my boot kept refusing to open which Jeep looked and said they fixed but the next day it go stuck again. I can live with that. It only happens occasionally and usually when its pouring rain and I have hands full with groceries! Lol. Some slight adjustment of the air vents for the driver would be better as I find the steering wheel blocks the air onto your face and when its 40 degrees in summer you need AIR! I also find the aircon not that powerful or cold. But whatever. Now I'm just nit picking. Its a fab car and very nifty. The power drops on occasion when I put my foot down and there is nothing there - a bit scary when you are trying to zoom across oncoming traffic, but I am taking it into Jeep for another service soon so will see if they can run an update to fix that. All in all an awesome car and lots of fun to drive. The stereo system is awesome and the main navigation screen is big, bright and easy to use. The map function is not great. It always sends me on convoluted routes and I have no idea how to update the maps as the current version is old and often can't locate new building developments. The system is also geared to Android software (Samsung) and not Apple. I've used both phones in this car and Samsung is a much better experience. It will read your texts out loud and keep a log in the car of your texts so you can go back and read them. It won't do that with Apple. I have the charging plate as well and it won't work on Apple devices which is slightly annoying! Anyhow all in all a fun and zippy car with lots to keep you interested. I would highly recommend buying one. You wont regret it.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Most comfortable car I have driven
Update on the Jeep, Still going strong, Even been towing a caravan with it now, I had to ask what the GCM for towing was from FCA. GVM 4628kg. GVM 4495kg Average 12L per hundred K's 2300t Caravan. My next car will be a new Jeep. Bought the Cherokee in August 2016 after test driving other cars in the same class, I even hired cars so I could test and compare a car over a few days of driving, When I first took the Jeep out I knew straight away this felt more comfortable and quiet, More refined and classy. So bought one, A limited 2L Deis...Read more
al. I am yet to achieve the 5.8 L/100 on the open road I'm getting 6.2 to 6.6. This I expect will improve as the motor wears in and frees up. I am achieving nearly 1000klm on the HWY and around 700 in the City, 60L tank. None of the other cars in class can tow to 2500kg with a ball weight of 280kg which I need to tow a tandem trailer. I read many things about the problems Jeep owners have experienced eg: Gear box 9 speed auto, I had the slow to change 1st and 2nd gear with a little clunk, My car had yet had the latest firmware update on the gear box now the Auto is perfect, Smooth and quiet and gives plenty of power when you need it, Very happy! My wife owns a Mazda 3 with auto stop/start, When you turn the steering wheel the engine starts as well as lifting your foot of the brake and won't start to work untill the engine is warm. On the Jeep the stop/start operates when cold, And the engine starts by lifting your foot only which can be annoying if your on a slight hill and want the engine to start, Mazda 3 I would turn the wheel a bit to start the motor keeping my foot on the brake. It's just a different setup. The guy on caradvise.com said he didn't like that there was no foot rest, Well I like that there isn't one because I can stretch my left leg out without some lump being on the foor getting in the way. I love the infotainment 8" screen, Interior is wonderful and comfy. The rear space my be small to some but unlike other cars the rear seats can be moved forward, Very handy. Services are now caped for 5 years as with warranty. My wife and I love the Jeep.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Very good but room for improvement as with all machines, especially the Service Centre, customers kn
Excellent around town & country roads with outstanding ride, handling & comfort, so quiet as it has laminated side windows at the front too. Better & very easy to use features & available affordable options than the competition have with a best in class braked towing capacity (2397kg, that's the bar but it is actually 2500kg for the vehicle) of the turbo diesel they cant even dream of. Mine has all the options including the Luxury Pack (no sunroof) with active ventilated leather seats, try getting that in a MX5 or a Rav 4, & the most comfortabl...Read more
e seats ever! The safety is the best in class, second to none with brakes that will pop your eyes out. But I had the ZF transmission issues (just the cable crimps) which are not caused by Jeep but yes they still should be better at the Service & Customer service which is where my problems lie as with many others brands, not just Jeep. I had much worse at Volkswagen. I also has an exhaust leak for 20 months with this KL that my service centre did not listen to me about & it took my sales person to smell it & get him to prove it to get it fixed which also put the fuel economy back to 6.7kml not the 8.9kml average it was getting, no compensation though, this is my point. Now they are much better as the Service Advisor is no longer there, see a staffing not vehicle issue to a degree. If you actually do some research you will find even the premium brands have recent major recalls for some things like cars possibly bursting into flames, Porsche, Ferrari, this was on Top Gear, Range Rover, (same ZF transmission issues) even Commodores a while ago, whoosh & its gone, I am led to believe on vehicle problem & recall websites didn't they? Toyotas were killing people with Prius's weren't they as did Tesla autonomously just last year, this is a well known fact? How many recalls for faulty airbags did Toyota & other manufacturers have, 100000's, good job you were not in a crash. Machines will be machines & even the so called best have problems (Mercedes worst customer survey poll reviews in the USA too) but the difference is either the manufacturer or the owners themselves usually wont tell us about them to save face & pride but the fact is they can all be as bad as each other (a bit like politicians) so stop rubbishing one brand, just accept the fact how privileged we are to even be able to own any of these amazing cars, especially a new one. Many in this greed driven world may never have the protection of one let alone all the luxury & comfort a modern car offers, warts an all! Although whether I'd buy another Jeep we will have to wait & see, yes room for improvement but otherwise it is a very good & a better all round vehicle & option to the competition in my opinion especially if you want to tow an actual caravan, actually as it is a 4x4 with low ratio gear box, something a magazine review wont tell you too as most of the time the bias is towards outright speed & handling not an overall package, not all SUV's are 4x4. Why don't they compare a MX5 & RAV4 to a GT Forrester for example, all are SUV's as we know which one they would pick to win this comparison but its not apples to apples is it. The KL CHEROKEE is different to them too & better for it & not to say there is anything wrong with them, great cars but built with a different design purpose & will fall, probably apart if used off road unlike a Jeep & certainly wont get you as many places either with a 2+ tonne off road van loaded up with extra goodies behind to enjoy at your away from all the whiners destination! We need to be patient, just like we should drive at all times & be with all other road users, with FCA & Jeep please & believe it as they are trying at least to fix it as seen by the latest There and Back campaign. Since 1941 remember!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Good working donky
Generally it is ok,
On the bad side:
- Consumes more petrol than I would anticipate,
- Rough transmission and noise
- It’s got an issue so called Static Power Consumption: Electronic components/ sensors make battery flat when car is not used for more than 1 week but this is a problem many modern cars.
On the good side:
- Nice and convenient interior, good handling, well designed dashboard,
- No problem with heavy towing,
- Generally good value for monies.

This is by far the best car i have ever brought and would highly recommend it to anyone. We have now done a trip of 4500km and it was so comfortable. Don't hesitate to buy a jeep if your are in the car market. You can always get an aggressive deal on a jeep

Had high hopes, only to be disappointed
First issue I had with my Jeep Cherokee MY15, was sunroof rattling. Took it to the dealership and they had a look at it, claiming the rubbers were "dry and dusty" and needed lubrication. Two weeks later the issue came back again, and I had to book another service, and they claimed the same thing. Another month later same issue, this time however it stayed for about week, and they changed the panels, and the sunroof. For eight months I was driving the car noise free.
Nevertheless, I wasn't driving the car within those eight months issues free...Read more
. Before December 2015, the car started lunging forward due to transmission issue. "Luckily" I thought, by then I already had my 12K service. They had updated the transmission software and promised the issue was fixed as they have "tested" it. You could imagine, that the issue wasn't fixed, and the car kept lunging. A week later I had to take it back again, and then they told me that they sent the data to FCA and they advised I need a new transmission. This took about two months to arrive. By now, I had already raised a complaint to FCA, but more about this later. A new transmission has been installed, this time they said it was a generation 2 transmission and I shouldn't have any problems with it.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

I Could Live In This Car
Besides looking super sexy on the outside, the Jeep Cherokee Limited is unbelievably luxurious on the inside.
We've always bought Jeeps and this one really has an upmarket feel. Driving wise it's smooth and comfortable, with so many features I feel really safe and relaxed while driving.
Only downside is boot space. Once I put a pram in there, I have little room for much else. Considering Jeep is supposed to be the adventurers car I would've thought they'd have made this more of a priority.
Other than that, I can't get enough of driving it. I take any opportunity to get in the car and go!

Looks great, but it has some major flaws
I purchased a Jeep Cherokee KL Limited (the new Cherokee, released in late 2014) with a 2.0 Litre Diesel engine and 9-speed gearbox. The car looks great and you will get many comments about that (with the "You bought a Jeep" and "You need a bigger boat" comments as well). The car is feature rich and in the same price league as it's competitors. I wanted a Diesel and I got wone over by a huge media screen with navigation, ventilated leather seats and a proven Diesel engine (Fiat/Alfa/Holden).
The gearbox is not that great, as is has a manufac...Read more
turing fault, which is well known. All 9 speed boxes suffer this, regardless of the engine. It is nearly impossible to change gears manually, as the car overrides the gear anyway, the gear changes from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd are very harsh and the box get's noisy after a while. My gearbox was due for replacement. The cabins built quality is not that great and the car has very audible noises. The Navigation system has some glitches and the routes it takes are very weird and longer than necessary. Some other electronic feautres, like the park distance control sometimes have a life on their own. My alternator belt snapped after only 1,500km and the replacement belt (the only in Australia) snapped after only 2,000km after replacing the first belt. This belt was taken out of a stock vehicle.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
