I am having problems with my Jeep 2013 North gears. They seem to keep sticking in park. I have to pump brake and spend time trying to get it out if park? Anyone else had this happen.

Hi Kaz,
My Jeep is an automatic and I haven’t had this issue, however mine is a different year.

Just wanting to know if anyone else Bluetooth drops in and out while in a phone call? Also does anyone have any trouble with filling the car up with fuel? Thanks
5 answers
Nope no troubles with either for my 2014 compass limited.
I just rented the Compass for a couple of days - didn't use the bluetooth, but getting the petrol cap off was very difficult, I nearly had to take the car back to the airport empty but somehow manged to unlock it and I don't know how or why probably couldn't do it again, no rhyme or reason to it. When I did drop it off the rental guys said that they had numerous reports of the same thing so don't feel too bad it's not you it's just a crap design
Thanks for the help :)

I am looking a purchasing a 2014 Compass limited, I've had mixed feedback about them and can only find negative reviews online.
Are they expensive to run and maintain?
How often do you get it serviced? ( Heard it was less then most cars)
Price of tyres?
good on fuel?
1 answer
Daily running is not expensive. My CRD has consistently returned 6.5 -7.5 L/100kms. Servicing at dealership every 10000kms is pricey. Genuine spares are exhorbitant .Jeep dealerships are not helpful when it comes to getting information about repairing their product. Not good if you live far from dealership. They are not built for country running. At 140000 kms I have just had both front suspension lower arms replaced. Jeep price is $1400 plus fitting. Tyres are ok ;around $225 each for reasonable quality. They do drive nicely but I would never buy another Jeep product.

I'm happy with my compass very comfortable and drives well. Make sure you give it a workout when you test drive it to make sure it's powerful enough for you.

I am looking at buying the Compass just for driving around town and on the highway. NO offroad and NO towing. Is this a good family car?

I was happy with my Compass. It always felt solid and safe.
There is good space in the front and a lot in the back. The luggage area is maybe not the biggest out there, but it was sufficient for a 3 week roadtrip between Perth and Melbourne with 1 person and 3 females. ;-) Wife and 2 teenage daughters.
Mine was 2.4 Ltd with the cvt gearbox. In town it gave reasonable fuel consumption when driven with a careful right foot. When you step on it, it can get a bit thirsty.
I am really happy with my Jeep Compass 2013 which I bought as our family car. It's really comfortable and easy to drive. My mother was worried about getting in/out of it as she had trouble with a friend's Toyota Rav, but she has no trouble with the Compass. I use my car for town and highway driving only and couldn't be happier with it. It is a comfortable, stylish city SUV. My husband drives my car every opportunity he gets and was a big fan of me buying it in the first place.
The boot space is more than adequate for our needs and the car is more economical than my husband's Holden Berlina.
All in all, if I was in the position to choose again.... I would still buy the JEEP! I love it.

What is the towing capacity. Will it tow a horse float?
1 answer
I do not know the answer to this, however, you need to check with your State's vehicle towing regulations regarding towing. Me, I would not put a horse trailer behind my Compass. The most I would tow would be a 6x4 trailer and not a heavy load either
