I applied to have the electricity supply abolished by Jemena a month ago, the house in Melbourne is going to be demolished and a new one built. I have been told by the work crews who have come out that they have no idea where my underground power supply originates on the pole out front. This has led to an open ended process where I am constantly told that it needs further investigation. I have a schedule to get the house built and am now sitting around wasting time and money waiting to have (what should be a simple disconnection done)???
As I have read here on this forum these procedures are in disarray and customer service is a joke, I will be taking this to the ombudsman I suppose and from there to my local government member. Is this a normal outcome for this situation??

Whom do we, as customers, complain to, about the appalling service by Jemena. Is there a regulatory authority that oversees Jemena.

I have waited from 7am until 7pm on the day they said they will come to read the meter. I rang Jemena, I was asked to ring AGL.

When I rang AGL, the supplier about the issue I was asked to contact Jemena.

I have wasted a whole day just waiting for the meter to be read.

I’ve received an unsolicited mail from Jemma about a study for an offer of $30 e-gift card. The letter ask to complete a survey for qualification and then the offer of an upgrade the gas meter but it made no mention of costs. Contact number and website enclosed in the letter. Any one can give me an objective feedback please.

I dont want to pay for somebody else's electricity.....
Jemena installed different meter than what is registered in their system. Our retailer Origin Energy asked me to wait until the meter number is updated. This is the fourth month and meter number still hasn't been updated.
Called Jemena today. Jemena said to call the retailer!
Going through Jemena or Origin Energy has got me nowhere.
Is there a procedure to correct this?

You need to call the Electricy Ombudsman
‭1800 500 509‬ On Jemena. This is the only way you can get help. The have a monopoly and don’t care about their customers.

Gas hot water Meters? How do you convert decalitres into mj? I searched every search measurement converter, there is no scientific measurement that can measure the gas used in warm water for showering. We do not used full hot water only warm, how do work out the hot water Meter, it moves even its like warm water used? Hot water bills are almost double from a large home to a small apartment.

The bills you received will show the conversion, e.g. my bill got 962 volume on the hot water meter, and factor is 10, conversion factor is 0.3121, multiple them together, the last column will show the usage in MJ as 3002.
If you only have warm water instead of hot water, you need to ask strata to look at it for you, must be something wrong might with the plumbing.

jemena is a distributor, not a retailer, so you cannot sign contract with them. You need to find a retailer, such as AGL, energy australia, red, origin, dodo, etc... to sign with them.
