Hi Barry,
You can buy on our website or you can check out some of our retailers. Tent World will have stock of the HOTTAP Outing if that's the product you're after, you can give them a call beforehand to ensure they have stock at your location.
Hope this helps!
Chris
Thanks for your prompt reply

Purchased a unit late 2018 and only set it up for the 2nd time this weekend. Ist time we used it we plugged it into town water and it was terrific. This time however, we were off grid and used it out of a 20 lt jerry can. Pump working fine but unit wouldn't turn on. Gas flowing well and replaced batteries just in case. Still no hot water. It did turn on briefly first up. Any clues?

We are considering purchasing one of your hot water systems primarily for winter in FNQ as we currently only have cold water at home via a gravity fed shower from our tank that we pump from the river into. I am wondering if this system will be suitable for us in that the temperatures of water coming out of our tank are quite cold even in the middle of summer and if we also would need the Blue cold water intake hose with pump or if connecting into our existing gravity fed system would be sufficient.

Is there any way, other than the phone number in one of the above questions, and email to support, to contact Joolca? I placed an order on Sunday for a Hottap Outing (it is now Tuesday late afternoon). It has not been sent. I have left two messages, the last of which was a call during operating hours that was not answered. I have also sent an email to support. I have not had any response. Please help.

I've just purchased my Joolca Hottap Outing.... yipee! Couple of questions. If i want to have a cold shower, can i just leave the gas off? For extreme portability... would a 12V 7.2AH sealed lead acid battery be able to run the pump?

Hi Christine!
Yes either turning the gas off at the bottle or also popping the battery case out will cause the unit not to heat up.
The battery will work however it won't have long use out of it as the pump uses 2 - 3.5 amps on average so you'll get 1-2 hours maximum before a recharge is required.
Thanks!
Thanks for that.

I’m considering the hottap outing for a 10 day Scout camp. I’d like to have an idea of the amount of battery capacity I’ll need for the pump. I can estimate how many minutes the unit will run for — can you tell me the approximate current the pump will draw, and what factors affect the current?

Hi I have the outing setup, on a 60 amp/hr battery with a 5 watt solar panel it can easily do four 20 min showers a day,
I expect many more would be ok, the setup works really well.
Just a note the pump has a runtime of 20 min then needs a rest. Sorry not sure of amp requirements, it's not a large pump so a can't imagine it being high.
Hope this helps a little.
Craig
I have had an answer direct from Joolca: "The average draw of the pump is between 2.5 and 3.8. The pump is rated for a maximum of 5.8 amps although it doesn't get this high in normal operation." and "The draw for the pump is higher [i.e. towards the 3.8A end of the scale] at a low flow rate, this is because the pump is a 6L p/m pump. So it's drawing higher because, it's working harder to produce less flow."

Hi Tom,
Yep, you've got the answer there! Glad you've got it sorted.

Hi, we purchased the HOTTAP OUTING in Dec 2017 & only used a handful of times. It is leaking from all fittings & the pump will not activate if it's positioned above the water inlet level, it will only activate if it's below & the fittings are still leaking?

Hi Simone,
Please send us an email to [email protected] or call 1300 669 500 during business hours. Our support is very good and will 100% fix this up for you :) I can't see your email or other details here so we'll have to wait for you to reach out to us before we can help!
Thanks,

Any leak in a connection between the tank and the pump will mean it's sucking air and not water.
If all the fittings are leaking you are not going to get an effective use. There should be no leaks at all if things are assembled correctly. We have used ours in many different situations, this is the big advantage of the Hottap system. It's very flexible and portable, and thankfully quite durable, we've had young horses standing on get tangled in the hose, which we have extended by about 6 metres to get around the big beasts. We have ours hanging semi-permanent in our float as we are on the road with our horses, but have also used it hanging on the deck at our house when the power is off due to storm damage.
So first thing is to fix the leaks!
Happy travels and warm showers.

Hi. I sent my brand new hottap up today, everything in the right places water comes out as soon as you turn the shower head onto any function the panel lights up and the ignitor fires away and lights up. I can feel the heat coming up the top vent. Thats were the fun stops, for a second the water warms up and then nothing goes back to tap temperature the heater is still alight but the digital panel will never go over 28 degrees. Ive got the water flow on low and heat on high. Not sure what else to do?

Hello Joolca Team, we have had a unit for 3 or 4 months. The first time it worked without a hitch the next time we used it the unit ignites but the temperature fluctuates and will not increase or decrease when using the dial. Help please. I would like to drop the unit in this Friday for someone to look at it. We have checked the gas connection, the batteries, the gas bottle and connected it to our mains water at home. Please help us. Thank you Valla

Hi Valla,
Thanks for sending this in. Just as a courtesy reminder, the Product Review website is a 3rd party and we do not monitor it as often as we do our support emails and support phone calls.
Please call us on 1300 669 500 or email us at support @ joolca.com.au. Please do not come by until you have first spoken with our support team as otherwise we may not have time to do an on the spot inspection (we rarely do these as we keep to a schedule to keep things running smoothly).
Our support team will help you out with this ASAP. One way or another you will walk away a happy camper, promise! :)

Just wondering when you guys use your hot tap whether you keep it permenantly attached to mains water or do you connect it to the tap as needed. When on a powered site with water, I'd like to have a hose to the van for our water and another to the hottap. Theoretically, with a dual connector on the site's mains so I can switch between the two. Just dont want to run the risk of forgetting to switch the hot tap water off and run out of gas... thoughts? We left it permanently turned on, so when you use the tap there was hot water with no fuss. We did only turn the tap partial turn so the pressure wasn't too high, as our town water pressure is very good, but that would depend on the pressure where you are. It only uses gas and turns on the Hottap when you use water, when not in use it stays off. The only issue we had was after being connected for 4 months, it started dripping from the base, but on phoning the manufacturer, they advised us how to adjust the screw to stop that.

Hi Padraig,
We'd recommend to always disconnect the gas hose and water when the unit is not in use.
Cheers, Mac.

Seems very unusual Phil. My guess is flame is not up high enough. I suggest you contact Joolca direct, or messenger through Facebook. They are very helpful and quick to reply.
JoolcaJoolca
Hi Phil, that is unusual indeed, I'm sure your ambient water temp would be fairly high. Please get in touch with us directly to troubleshoot - Mac.

Hi, can I use a 4kg gas bottle instead of a 9kg bottle?
Thanks
Kieran
1 answer
Sure can. You could even use a smaller one than a 4kg. The only limitation is how many showers you would get from a smaller bottle. According to the website, the 9kg provides about 15 hours of hot water. Check out their website - there is so much info there. joolca.com.au
