what we love :
— the layout (big kitchen, lots of seating)
— the quality of the internal finish
— light and so easy to tow
the less good :
— roof not particularly easy to raise
Purchased in for $24,000.

Compare best CaravansThe van looks aesthetically appealing however, there are quality issues with the fittings. The major problem has been the bowed roof and the fixture to open and close the roof is defective. The quality issues were rectified under warranty however the poptop roof has been a slow and tiring story. Chasing-up the dealer to change over after chasing the Jurgens manufacturer to correct the major fault. The bowed roof would collect water when it rained. The awning was damaged due to the bowing of the roof. Really disappointing that I still don't have the roof repaired and the clips which hold the roof don't work. My advice stay away from the jurgens poptop.

We have recently purchased a pt 2250 and while we have found it to match all of our expectations including storage, towing etc, I am frustrated that the rear end is so exposed without a rear protection bar, has anyone found a suitable one to fit even without the Tyre fittings.

My wife convinced me to consider the PT2270, as we moved from our existing Jindabyne PT2230. I had misgivings about a "family" van with bunks, given our kids were grown and no longer travelling with us. However, the PT2270 is a perfect match for our lifestyle.
Being business owners, works travels with us. The small dining table which converts to a bunk is perfect as my working cubby hole. I can set up a computer and work without disturbing my wife at night and the lighting under the bunk is great. The overhead bunk becomes a repository for ...
Read moreitems that we would typically need to hide under beds and chairs (computer bags, photography equipment etc) and there is a huge amount of storage available elsewhere. This still leaves us with another dining table, although we nearly always eat outside the van. The van has some subtle build improvements over the earlier model PT2210 and PT2230. We always struggled to unhitch our old van on sloping sites, as the low draw bar became nearly impossible to connect to the jockey wheel when it dropped slightly. The PT2270 has a more intelligently designed jockey wheel and gives more room for adjustment. The body of the van sits a little differently on the chassis and weight distribution seems to be better, even though the compliance plates suggest there is no difference. The ball weight is certainly easier to keep lower. Build quality in this van seems quite good. We had some issues in our previous van (all resolved with Jurgens and our dealer), but really have struggled to find any faults in this van. The roof mechanism is still one of my major gripes, as even though I am far from feeble, raising and lowering the roof is both a physical and logistical challenge. If Jurgens find a means to retro-fit a better system, I will be parked in the service bay immediately. The Finch under-bed air conditioner is extremely challenged in a pop-top of this size and really does nothing useful to reduce the van temperature. Jurgens will undoubtedly find a better solution, but for now they would be best to sell them without an air conditioner, rather than one that cannot cope with the demands of the van. That unit may work well in a well insulated smaller van, but a mid-size pop-top is too much of a challenge. Future Jurgens buyers will hopefully see an improved model fitted?- Floor PlanPT2270
Jurgens are looking into our issues but it has taken 4 months to get them to admit there is a problem with the pop-up mechanism in there latest consignment of Jindabyne vans.

Always have problem opening poptop, very hard to push up. Also when closing top have to lower rear end first, cannot lower from front and lock it down. Very happy ewith the van, previoulsey had Avan cruiseloiner, with no hot water or toilet//shower, big difference with these features.

Compare best CaravansHad a short repaired in rear clearance LED WIRING, when we asked about being covered by warranty their authorized Jurgens repairer said Good Luck with that. He didn't take a photo of the fault to submit to Jurgens.
One authorized Jurgens caravan repairer we were sent to concerning another problem under warranty wasn't interested because she said they are bad payers. Jurgens haven't bothered to reply to my email. We like our van but are unhappy with the after sales service from both Jurgens and the selling agent.

After purchasing our PT2260 we collected it in time to take it to The Big Red Bash in Birdsville. We had an extra water tank added, I placed stone guards over the water tanks, grey water pipes and the front water tap, purchased a Stone Stomper and fitted an extra 200W solar panel. The van come with a travel blanket and along with the stone stomper we had no stone damage to either the rear of the Rodeo or front of the van. The RA Rodeo dual cab returned a constant 12 litres per 100 kilometres and handled well on all road surfaces. We had an ESC...
Read more fitted and this proved very efficient in a couple of loose gravel situations. The total weight of the van and vehicle come in at 2.950 tonnes with the extra gas bottle, water and tyres in the fibreglass canopy on the back. We are very impressed with the PT 2260 after having had Jayco, Chesney and Viscount vans previously and are looking forward to a lot more trips in the time to come and we believe all the little issues have been ironed out.- 6 reviews

Had the Jindy for 6 months now and have traveled over 4000klms on the odd trip.
No issues as would be expected from a new van.
Tows excellent behind our Diesel Territory. The low tare and roof makes a real difference without compromising anything.
Had some very small issues, however these do not detract from the enjoyment of caravaning.
I have always thought outside the square and have been rewarded for doing so. However, a lot of Australians can't get past what is popular at the time and miss out on some very unique experiences, so go and have a look at the Jurgens. Very interesting chassis set up which some people won't be able to comprehend.

Just had our first trip in our Jinadbyne pop top and no problems what so ever.
The Jindabyne tows very good even when trucks pass no swaying.
We have had an Alko anti sway coupling fitted and ESC when new (it has not cut in while driving)
The only thing I would like is a hot water system.
Have sold the Jindabyne and have upgraded to another Jurgens. Very happy with the Jindy when we owned it. Would recommend if he van suits. Very happy with Jurgens

Bought one of the Jurgens Jinabyne PT2210 7 months ago
We have a couple of small issues with them, namely the Hand pump for the water, and the Aircon unit grill falling apart after a trip on sealed roads, easy to fix, but after several phone calls to head office (vic) they refuse to return my calls to discuss these issues.
Just be wary of after sales service or lack of it
weel made except for the problems I have outlined
